Roblox today hates "Old Roblox" for a simple reason. Old Roblox was focused on being fun to play, rather than making money. They know that they can't bring that era back and be profitable, and so they will do everything in their power to make us forget. As long as we don't forget, as long as we keep using R6 on our avatars and games, they can't erase their past without shooting themselves in the foot.
Fr, in the past, when a bug appeared that disrupted the players' experience, Roblox would fix it immediately, but now, they only fix a bug when it starts to suffer financially. So you can see the level of this, Roblox mobile has already updated 4 times and they haven't fixed a bug that doesn't let you enter private servers (just following a friend or entering via a link)
Thing is they care about money, we care about having fun, and the key to a successful company is pleasing the customer, so they ll never achieve forcing us to go along with whatever the hell they want, because its not what we want, and frankly we dont care. We just want to have fun. And if they keep opposing this and putting money as a priority they ll end up harming themselves, and not us. Because without us their income will suffer.

Yknow, i feel like instead of Removing R6 outright and replacing it with a crappier version of R15, they could just make R6 compatible with newer features

But the community would get mad that they failed to remove them cause so many people lost hardcore worlds and good items in survival mode because of them
Roblox tried to hide R6 and leave R15 with more things so that more people could use it, but they would never remove it because it would be a shot in the foot, millions of games would simply break, because they use R6 as the basis for their game, a good example of this is Slap Battles, which has already bugged and left the R15 game completely bugged and all the animations don't work.
thats why they made adaptive r6, its literally exactly like r6 but with 15 bodyparts which is barely noticeable and it supports layered clothing + r6 animations and everything from r6 you can actually already enable it in your games, there are some issues with scaling tho but its in beta
roblox officially stated that "98% of roblox avatars are r15." they said that very specifically. not of all active users. if they held a website wide vote to depricate r6, i wonder what would happen? the thing is, they already know.
If you take into account all the bot accounts that are set to R15 by default, then yeah by a technicality more accounts use R15. That doesn't necessarily mean more _active_ players use R15.
R6 and R15 both has ups and downs. None of them should be remobed just because of ones opinion. If they want to remove or add something, they should listen to the community. But as we know, current Roblox DOES NOT do that
they've been wanting to remove R6 / "phase it out" for a while now. if i recall correctly it was even in some of their official paperwork that it was going to be slowly removed, and i think they aren't going to stop trying to get rid of it. if they could of removed it without backlash, they would of already. they want to be vrchat / fortnite / second life so badly that they are trying to remove anything that makes them unique, the things that keep them recognizable as a brand.
This is also why when UGC Character Bundles released, there were R6 converters and a smooth version of R15 which gets rid of the gaps. But Roblox killed these types of bundles because they require a modesty layer
I remember when a cute bear bundle was not allowed cuz of modesty layer, and there are literally bodies like the it girl with um, "big parts" if we can call it that.
just imagine if you were playing obbies (they use r6) for 5 years and then you see that roblox wants r6 gone, the thing you enjoy most is gone and now you don't have anything to do.
They shouldn't remove not only because it's part of their history but also because R6 is easier to make animations, i don't want to go around 45 minutes trying to animate ONE R15 arm, i rather just stay 15 minutes animating one R6 arm
Sadly, though, 99% of the people that say these words will be the same people that just sit and take it. A common thing I've noticed with Roblox players is that they say they're gonna do something, then end up not doing it at all. It's lazy activism, in a way. Merely stating that they're going to improve the status quo only so someone else can do it for them.
I've mained r6 since I made my account. R6 is all you really need. No fancy ugly animation packs and overdone over-realistic avatars. Its not innovation. Listening to your community is what I would consider innovation. Actually taking suggestions and maybe a hint from all the drama they cause. Its almost laughable how much drama they get themselves into.
roblox cant delete R6 fully since this would break 50% of their popular games. even if they delete it as an option, some games will still force you in r6 and the games that don’t were probably never meant to be R6 anyways
As a player who uses r6, i can say that r6 is the best in obbies and horror games and everything else, while r15 is just good at simulators. Thanks for 100 likes guys! I really appriecatie it, also this is edited. I know that some popular games use r15 but in my opinion it's just that i like r6 more, and r15 is mostly common in simulators.
The 30% is probably just because of the bot accounts, and the inactive accounts they switched to r15 thinking we wouldnt notice If we only counted actual active users, it'd likely be 60%
R6 is just the best for almost everything, I don't understand why roblox even wants it gone. I get that they're adding more things that's mostly only available for R15. But come on man, some people still prefer classic things and they know that.
I am in serious doubt roblox would remove R6 entirely because if they did than countless games that only use R6 would break, it would cause a huge anger and drama, and so many devs including myself use R6 for their games because it is alot more clean and balanced compared to r15
They've already broke many games with shitty updates that caused drama it's not like they wouldn't do it again + they don't give a shit about the community
This is all i got to say, Roblox for real be killing themselves. R6 is literally part of roblox history, if they remove it, a lot of players might quit, and literally a bunch of games use r6. If roblox removes r6, those games will literally break. Just like how when roblox added r15, a lot of accessories and games broke.
I prefer using r15 (mainly for the size modifiers), but removing r6 would backfire hard, its the childhood of a big part of the community and erasing the past never works as expected.
importing layered clothing with r6 shouldn't really be that hard, r15 is just the normal rig but with more parts that "CREATE" the rig. r6 and r15 mostly have the numbers for how many parts the rig has, for example count the parts needed for a normal r6 rig, and then count the parts for a normal r15 rig.
reasons why R6 is better than R15: 1. It's better for obbying 2. It looks way better 3. It's simpler 4. The animation is better (atleast for me) 5. There's so much more you can do with it 6. Some stuff here is just your opinion which shouldn't be included here. But the obby part is correct. For the avatar that looks stupid in r15, just get 2 avatars for different Rs.
5 is um well considering the many features that r15 has like body scaling I think r15 would have more to do with your character ._. Some other points still stand, especially the obbying definitely

I Play with R34, It's good for Obbies since it's Smooth and Not laggy, You can do More Obby moves and tricks With R34, I Recommend Using It For Obbies And more, It's A Really good R avatar type, I Recommend Using it.
They made "a worse R6" so you can use layered clothing in R6. Its available for testing in "Survive and kill killers in Area 51" and more classic games
I believe that they realized that if they dont remove r6 then they can actually fullfill the goal of being able to change your avatar to whatever you want, so why would they even remove one of the things you could choose to become?
If you go into Rate My Avatar (basically an Avatar Conference), you will see that 80% of players in every each server have R6 and classic styled avatars on.
Obbies are literally the majority of what I play, and the higher difficulties rely HEAVILY on r6, roblox better not remove it, or a whole entire community with in it will be destroyed
You all realise it isn't even about popularity right? Like r15 in fact usually looks better for most avatars the problem is the games. Some games without r6 straight up will stop working completely
as a 2010 player i wished players where ok with r6 being removed not as a whole but as a scripting issue. R6 scripts dont work like r15 does so it feels like you need to learn slightly different ways to do things relating to player models. if r15 had a option to function exactly like r6 this would not have been such a big issue as it is today.

R6 is pretty much how Roblox started, removing it would be like removing one of it's core features. I think a lot of the R15 stuff is a marketing stunt tbh, investors put money into Roblox in order to have it look more like some metaverse. But the user base ultimately just wants Roblox and not another metaverse clone.
before they announced that ugc creators could make avatar bundles there were bundles that would appear normally in r6 (like the bundle wouldnt make your avatar blocky in r6) bundles like "robloxian 2.0" "woman" "man" would show the bundle in r6 eventually after that they stopped making bundles working for r6 however any head can work in r6 (i hope i explained that well)
Removing R6 would break a lot of games on the platform; forcing them to either rewrite some of their code, or put a default StarterCharacter (which is not that nice)
R6 is probably so hard coded into the roblox client it would be near impossible for them to remove it, knowing their history with not being able to change friends limit until just recently, if they did manage to do it though the entire community would probably burst apart like its popcorn.
Istg roblox is doing this to improve roblox stock but they don't realise that roblox stock would go up even more if they gave the community what they want
