We're always happy to get likes, and it's great feedback, but we understand some viewers don't engage in that way.

Great explanation to what I wanted to know. Now, what is a "stepper" motor?

Glad this video was helpful:) I asked our TETRIX team about the stepper motor, and they said there is a good explanation at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stepper_motor. Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help!

The short answer is, yes you can use a motor. The long answer is... Keep in mind simple machines principals. The long arm is basically a lever. To increase efficiency (make the arm stronger) you can change what class of lever, change position of fulcrum, or change where the work is applied and all of those will impact how effective the lever is. The other way you can impact this is with a stronger motor (which is the point of your question:), so you can increase the final output of the motor by adding a gear train above and beyond the motor itself. Last but not least, there are other ways to lift objects beyond just a classic lever arm. If the parameters of the challenge allow it, you might want to research other types of lifting methods or devices. We'd love to hear how it works out for you. Please comment and let us know how it goes, or If you're on twitter.com, post a photo and tag us (@TETRIXrobotics). Good Luck!

Hey, I've got a question! How do you know the amount of voltage you need to have for your dc motor? We have a project in which we will need two dc motors for two wooden wheels. The wheels have a diameter of 18 cm.

Which motor? We have a few.:) If it's a TETRIX® MAC DC Motor, they are rated at 12 volts. PRIME is a six volt system.

I'm going to build a pipe climbing robot with carrying package.this is for my final year project. My target is to carry 200g or 500g to carry to the top of the pipe using the robot and come back to the starting point.

There are many factors that can affect a build, so please email support@pitsco.com with the details you mentioned here. Support will probably have more questions for you, so it might take a few emails back and forth to gain enough information to give you any suggestions.
