CLIP DESCRIPTION:
RoboCop (Joel Kinnaman) confronts his police force for betraying him and working with Vallon.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A powerful multinational conglomerate attempts to bring robotic law enforcement to the United States by transforming a critically injured police officer into a cyborg cop in this remake of the subversive 1987 sci-fi classic. The year is 2028. For a long time, cutting-edge robotics company OmniCorp has been supplying the U.S. military with drones for use overseas, though their repeated attempts to bring the technology stateside has met with fierce resistance. When devoted family man and upstanding Detroit policeman Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) is grievously wounded in the line of duty, OmniCorp CEO Raymond Sellars (Michael Keaton) attempts to innovate by recruiting top scientist Dennett Norton (Gary Oldman) to transform Murphy into a prototype half-man/half-robot crime-fighter. When initial tests fail to provide the results OmniCorp had hoped for, Norton reprograms Robocop to operate strictly on software rather than human emotion. Later, Robocop finally hits the streets, and the citizens of the crime-ridden city welcome him with open arms. But as Murphy's emotions begin to interfere with his programming, he sets out to find the criminals who nearly killed him, and ensure that justice is served. Abbie Cornish, Samuel L. Jackson, Jay Baruchel, and Jackie Earle Haley co-star.

His family was even more destroyed in the original and its sequel. Alex is dead to his wife and son, even after she finds out what really happened to him. This movie was great. Would love to see a second part. Old robocop was for a different time and how they imagine a future in technology. With today's technology this would seem more plausible. Love both old and new equally. Sick of people who just love living in the past. Member berries lol

The original Robocop was an 80's action flick. This goes so much deeper. Into the ethics of the 21st century with all the connotations of technology giving us awesome powers to keep the human brain alive and functioning. Alex Murphy is the classic "brain in the jar". The only difference being the jar he's in can move and manipulate it's environment. The questions posed by this movie are pertinent for our society. Just how far are we willing to take cybernetics and transhumanism and just as importantly, should we?

@@in4mus85 Exaxtly! Some people need themes explained to them in excruciatingly painful detail. Good writers, directors, and editors find interesting and seamless ways to weave them into the movie without it grinding everything to a halt. Delta City, the tv commercials, the board room, Murphy visiting the open house etc were great little tidbits that helped tie the whole movie together. We don't need a 20 minute exposition from Sam Jackson telling us what we're supposed to be thinking and feeling. People can decide on their own

Say what you will about this remake, (I think it's worse than the original, but better than the sequels) Joel Kinneman's performance was excellent. He's no Peter Weller, but he's a damn good actor and he did a great job making his cadence and vocal patterns resemble Weller's (1:42-1:45, 1:48-1:50) while still doing his own thing.

Old Robocop: he is Highly defensive can tank RPG's,Explosions to the face and be perfectly fine, he pushed back a hydroponic presses with his bare hands has more fire power like the Cobra assault cannon which it bullets can explode on impact, his targeting system is so precise he can catch and deflect bullets out of thin air BUT despite his positives he moves like a tank he is very slow New Robocop: He is highly mobile and agile but he doesn't pack as much fire power as the old Robocop does he sticks to his 1 weapon, a shock pistol which can stun and kill, despite having a targeting system that can track down criminals a lot faster then the old robocop his targeting system is precise but it's not shown in the movie strange... despite that he defensive are VERY LOW a bullet that is 50 cal or high can penetrate his armor even hill him so he needs to take cover from time to time
@annoyance.2583

Defenses are VERY LOW? If you ordered him to take down armoured battalion, sure. But he was(I think)meant as cyber-upgraded police officer, not one man army, and having a police officer impervious to anything below .50 would already be overkill anywhere else save for ACTUAL WARZONES.
