Thank you for checking out this review of Robocop Rogue City! If you enjoyed it please be sure to like, comment and share, this is a big help for the algorithm. Are there any other classic action movie franchises you want to see get the Teyon treatment? Also what other games are you looking forward to in the coming months? Be sure to let me know!
I want tp seethem take on the Alien and Predator franchises. Single player action shooters. Loving Robocop Rogue City. Can't put it down. Huge fan of the film and a casual viewer of the first sequel.
How about blade that would be awesome can do investigations with the same skill upgrades he can jump with skills or target attacks he has guns stakes he can use up close and sword should be able to auto dodge question citizens for crimes and manage his blood lust and decide who he wants to kill or drink blood from
Finally the industry is understanding that is perfectly okay to make a kick ass doble A game. Not everything needs to be a huge budget production or a Live Service
This is a more complex topic than just "finally the idustry understanding" and big part of it is the technology (like UE5 and Meta Human or various 3D tools - even looking how big UE (4) cominity is - all contribues to more possible output) beging cheaper and more accessible. In the past assets production for something like Robocop would require 2-3 times as many artist to produce the same assets (or it would look far simpler as many AA looked 3+ years ago) as the demand on baking and preping all the maps and models would be higher. With UE5 it makes the production even faster thanks for being able to avoid baking all the lights. So while your sentiment is understndbele - it's also wrong as it was much much harder in the past. This is why we get a lot of AA in past few 2 years as the tech is much cheaper - this is why you see a smaller Polish dev being able to build something like Robo (guessing it was prob $10m max - in th context of its budget - this is almost an single "A", considering that Alan Wake 2 is a $70 game and even Epic ref to it as AA. The line is not as clear. (Where Sony AAA are often $300m) This is obvriously a great time, but we also are seeing a lot of UE5 shovelware, but that's a story for another time. Btw - 3D artist of 25y on the job, speaking from experience.
@@aspizakehhh I agree Robo is. Ot proof of what OP said but just cause engines cost teams more, they probably do, but the problem is studios are releasing either live service games they can continuesly monitze either by publisher demand so they can fund their other projects or just greed, or you got the Sony issue of huge inflates budgets for games "Too big to fail." So they are overhyped, over produced, overly cinematic, open world.
Judge Dredd would absolutely be an awesome franchise for these guys to tackle. If I had to name one more franchise I'd want Teyon to get a go at, it would be Alien. Specifically a Colonial Carines type of Alien game, like that... abomination that Gearbox never could make right. AvP would also be a great choice, last time we saw one of those was in 2010 and it was honestly pretty good. I'm sure the guys at Teyon would be able to pull of a great AvP game.
With Robocop being this well-fitting, I wonder what we can see next by Teyon? Proper Predator game, perhaps? Or Starship Troopers? Dredd definitely sounds good, although I imagine it would be nicer to make a proper adaptation or a sequel of the 2012 movie. Maybe also see and hear Carl Urban as Dredd again, that would be really cool IMO.
dude considering how they have adapted the auto 9 in this game (which is awesome by the way), I feel if they come up with a Judge dredd game then I guess his gun ingame would feel so freaking awesome that It would give people orgasms every time they fire it at an enemy. That thought itself is making me feel all tingly.
You crank videos out like a demon, and they're all quality. I found you from your Splinter Cell videos and you're easily one of the most impressive creators on this site. Keep it up, brother, you got something special here
I haven't seen enough of them doing that sort of melee well to suggest Highlander, but a Judge Dredd game from this studio in the same vein as Robocop would be sick.
A really slick, well presented and in-depth review man, respect. In fact you'd be forgiven for thinking you was watching a high profile channel like IGN etc. Like you, I'd love to see them do more Robocop games, but also totally with you on a Judge Dredd, and I'd also throw in a game based on Silverster Stallones movie 'Cobra'.
I love how this game is not trying to "reimagine" robocop for a "modern audience" but just makes it like classic movie, i hope they do judge dredd next, i mean most of the mechanics are there, might as well.
Phenomenal review! Super appreciate you showing some PC options also. Love the recommendation to check out the animated “The Dark Knight returns” for Weller’s performance. He owned that role! The only one apart from the legendary Conroy that can do justice to the Bat’s voice.
Just playing naturally even though I took a hour to do the Supercop trophy I've nearly got the platinum trophy, we need DLC for this it's a great game but just too short
Just finished and loved it. Like Terminator: Resistance. I really hope they stick with their niche and do something like Judge Dredd (obviously) soon. Even more i would like a Snake Plissken Game.
Oh Highlander definitely. It would be an interesting bit of experimental direction. I can sorta see it now in my head, a souls-like highlander game where you fight immortals and what-not.
They should keep making games like this that made for players (target audience like RoboCop Movie enjoyer) who would actually played the game and NOT for game journalist/critiques like IGN or Kotaku cuz that serves no one. Games should be played like this for a purpose of having fun.
What, no double jump? No grappling hook? No monkey bars and platforming? Lame! Aren't all shooters supposed to be copying Doom Eternal's push forward combat? 🙄 But seriously, this game is right up my alley. So much so, that I'm thinking of also giving Terminator Resistance a shot. 🤖
Upscaling DLAA is better than most AA, so this is why some devs opt for you to not be able to turn it off (like AW2 if i remember correctly) as set to DLAA it doesn't upscle anthing - it works as AA, but with less noise and shimmer. Peter Weller voice is fine - wouldn't call it great as the age def shows and his delivery is not as sharp (not bad, just bit soft), but the bigger issue is robo writting - it's more "tv" than how he phrases things in the movie. The movie dialog is far better phrased and "to the point" / purposeful , i understand this could be just the issue of "content" (more needed for the game) so it all feels very tv. (not good tv).
My only technical nitpick is the hammer on the Auto9 sets to uncocked after you fire it, watch the animation. And the animation for reloading is oddly long on some of the videos I've seen. For a dude who can move his hands with such mechanical speed and force how is he so slow on some of these? Plus, the Auto9 shouldn't start as semiauto, it should be burst with semi as an option. It feels a bit to me like Mr. Weller's voice is somehow lacking a bit of, bass? Not sure but there's a little something off about it. And the modeled character needs to lead with his chin a bit more when looking to the sides. Otherwise he's spot on. I've been waiting to see the reviews, I'll have to give this game a shot. I'm a huge fan of the movie, just love it. Thanks for the review :) As to other movie IP I'd like to see these guys tackle, how about Escape From New York or Big Trouble in Little China, or heck even Red Dawn?
The game is very authentic, it captures the feel of the movies, especially the first one, perfectly. It feels amazing during certain setpieces to mow down stock 80's bad guy fodder while the classic RoboCop theme plays.
Great review, really hit all the important notes and broke down and explained the different aspects of the game very well. Hadn't come across this channel before, but I'm subscribing now!
Auto 9 is the only useful gun in the game due to unlimited ammo and upgrading it to do some major damage and quicker makes it really fun. The other guns run out of ammo way too quickly.
Honestly, the redemption of this relatively small game studio is something that warms my heart. They have potential and love for the material they want to adapt. Rambo was a terrible start, but they have released two great games now.
I personally want teyon to try their hand at a Predator game. We kinda need it after hunting grounds well intentioned but kinda mediocre attempt at making one (admittedly I say this after not having played the game for over a year but still….waiting ten minutes just to play as a Predator just sucks)
This game looks to be awesome. Although considering it is unreal engine 5 based I would have liked to see better muzzleflashes on the guns but hey what we have is good enough I guess.
I finished the game and definitely first thing I told my girlfriend after beating it was the judge it makes the most sense but the question is do they get Stallone or urban
1:38-2:30 is my favorite critique on the story and overall themes, especially the biting satire on American Capitalism that every passing year becoming from mere prophecy into nightmarish reality bit.
@@KIRKCOLLECTS I want to go into more detail, but I can't without spoiling , but yes, that is the perfect description: fan fiction. The rest was pretty good though.
Like you, I also thought a Judge Dredd game would be sick. I would also like to see something like Demolition Man. Such an underrated movie that could have been so much more than a Sylvester Stallone vehicle.
