What is B-Human?
B-Human is a collaboration of the University of Bremen and the DFKI (German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence). The team participates in the RoboCup Standard Platform League (RoboCup SPL) after having spent multiple years in the humanoid league.
Our human team members consist of students of the University of Bremen, active alumni who keep contributing to the team after finishing their studies, and employees of both the university and the DFKI.
B-Human has so far been highly successful and brought multiple national, european and world champion titles back to its home city.
What is the RoboCup SPL?
The RoboCup is a competition for robotic teams, where students and researcher can participate in multiple disciplines and leagues. It provides a framework where multiple research areas related to robotics, such as behavior, perception (both visual and audio) and motion are combined and pose a challenge to solve by the participants.
Initially only being a robot soccer competition with different leagues for multiple types of robots, over the years there were other disciplines such at RoboCup@Home added.
The SPL is a soccer league that sets the focus on software development, since all teams play the same robot, which can be commercially purchased, instead of building there own robots.
What robots do we use?
The RoboCup SPL is currently playing on the NAO V6, produced and sold by Aldebaran, part of United Robotics Group.
