Thank you for the detailed walkthrough. Setting up my brand new S8 MaxV Ultra via the android app, and I don't have the option to give a room a custom name. I see at the top of your screen at 23:52 that it shows a spot above "Bedroom" where you could type in a custom room name, but I don't have that option and can't find it anywhere. Any ideas on what I could do to resolve this?
Thanks, the room name is in Settings, manage maps, edit room, name. Should be there, some options aren’t available if you are a shared user, you must be logged in as the main account holder to be able to re-name rooms
You can, but it is very hidden. First you need to pick one of the generic names for the rooms during creation. Then, you need to go right back out the main screen, pick ‘Profile’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Room Management’. Then select the room you want to rename and then rename it inside the room settings. Remember to press the ‘tick’ in the top right corner after to save. Not super intuitive
So since the video the app has been updated, it now looks different and some settings are in different locations, also the S8 MaxV has a voice assistant which apparently doesn’t work with custom room names, hence the problem with setting the name. @cshotla1 Thank you! I thought I was going crazy because I've looked all over this app. I wonder if there is a function to disable the voice assistant and allow custom room names. Do you know if Roborock is responding to requests like this?
@@lanfordautomation they’re not the most “customer service” present company in all honesty, even in the official group it’s more advertising than problem solving, hence the need for my group
