Could you add a hair tangles test as a standard to your tests please? :) That's really an area where most of those robots suck. So finding the few ones doing a good job would be great!
not that you're taking requests, but long time viewer here... large volumes of PET HAIR and whether or not the dock succesfully auto empties it is #1 on my list. Have had sharks and eco bots, the shark iq with auto empty will but at the price of being the lowest end robot with next to no features. Definitely want one of the auto mop refill and cleaning docks but am scared to take the plunge not knowing if it can handle pet hair. Thanks!
I am very much looking forward to this review as I got mine almost a month ago now, and it's definitely the best robot vacuum I've owned up to this point. I don't have to do any prep around the house and it "just works" which allows me to get closer to my goal of being the lazy man I desperately crave to be.
Same here, but I only have had mine a week now! Crazy deal when they were on sale, my first robo vac and me and my wife are very happy we took the plunge. My only regret is not getting 2, one for each level. (Even though it can learn multiple levels)
People with disabilities have great use for these vacuums, not just lazy people. 😊 Used to technically be disabled. Would have been super helpful back then. These super low maintenance machines would make great gifts for most people with disabilities.
I got this about a week ago and it is a game changer. Was on sale for $699 so about half the price of higher end Robots with similar capabilities. It has cut down how many times I to mop to once a week with kids, cats and rabbits. I used to have the clean the S4 dust bin out every day and was full of fur. I keep checking the bag and it is not full yet. Could not be happier.
@@VacuumWars no pet hair tangles with this brush too. been using every day for the last few months and hasn't ever gotten stuck with hair. It did run over wires once or twice though so obstacle avoidance is definitely the low point.
@VacuumWars Thank you for all your great content! Same here with the Amazon Prime sale. It’s my first robot vacuum and I’m loving it. We have 2 big dogs, short-haired, but shedders and a cat. Just nearly two weeks in, but I’m finding it wonderful!
@@dikoman516 Yes. We have two rabbits and they are shedding like crazy right now. Does not matter how much we comb them they are shedding tumble weeds of hair.
There was a review somewhere that talked about the difference in the volume of the water storage. They measured the amount of water used to clean the pads for each robot and I can't remember the difference but I'm pretty sure the Q Revo used more water than others. They figured that was why it has a larger water tank but this might be a test you could consider as part of your future reviews with mopping robots
Hey. I want to make a suggestion. Recently I've been seeing a lot of cleaning solutions for those cleaning robots. You could help us know if they are worth buying by running some tests? That would be really helpful I think. Anyway, love your channel and I really appreciate the effort you put into it. It is really helpful.
I bought this on sale too and am slowly becoming a big fan of it. Obstacle avoidance is very buggy on my dark shiny floors so I will just disable it altogether for now and hopefully they will improve it with future updates. Other than that, it works very well and is very quiet. One other thing, side brush will sometimes kick debris a bit too hard and they will overshoot the vacuum. That's how it seems it misses some of the trash on my floor. I guess they had to pick some middle ground with that brush. Make it weaker and it won't be able to move heavier debris enough distance.
I honestly love this channel, I wanted to do an upgrade from my currently vacuum robot, and I wanted the self-cleaning feature in the lowest price that I could find, and I think that this one is the one. Thank you so much for your honest reviews.
Just got mine yesterday, love it, I upgraded from my S4 and I noticed that the Revo is a lot quieter than the S4 at full power, I missed the prime day $200 coupon but Walmart has it and they still had the $200 off coupon so I jumped at it.
What a coincidence 😊 I had the S4 and missed the Amazon sale and got it from Walmart on the last day of their sale. 😀. You are right. It is so much quieter than the S4 I thought is was not on high. I does such a good job on mopping
I’ve had this for about a week now and it’s amazing. I did change the side brush to a 5 arm silicone one as I had some at my house for my other Roborock vacuum, but other than that this thing just works. No complaints at all
From another video I got that the brush on the side brushes with bend and curl over time, but the silicone brushes don’t do that. I planned on getting them for mine when I get it.
I'm rarely a fan of affiliate links and avoid clicking them in general, because it bothers me when videos or especially blogs don't really earn it. Your channel definitely earns it. I'm not ready for a robot vac but in the next year or so when I am, I will definitely be using your link because you hands down earned it.
I have a roomba and used to have a scooba. Even though they were separate robots, why oh why oh WHY hasn't anyone come up with a replacement for the scooba since they're no longer in production? The performance was exceptional, always used clean water, effective scrubbing brushes not pads. It baffles me why no one has thought 'lets take those ideas and make a really good all-in-one robot'. I really really miss my scooba
Picked up the Q Revo on the Prime day sale, and it's been an absolute KILLER! Extremely impressed with it's LiDAR navigation accuracy, the app is typically pretty solid, and honestly I'd argue that the sacrifice in obstacle avoidance performance is WELL worth the massive price slash. I want to mention something I feel the review is missing. I'm unsure if this is shared with other single-roller Roborock vacuums, but it does seem to struggle with many types of small objects. A small piece of plastic, a twist tie, bottle caps, a bread clip, a small strip of paper, etc. Those sort of objects will get caught between the roller and the assembly, and make a loud "brrrrrrr" sound. It still seems to vacuum fine despite the snag, but the snags have to be manually cleared, which is fortunately easy.
Hey quick question, for some reason I couldn’t get the auto empty dust thing to work. But every time it’s done vacuuming it’s doing “it”, very loudly. So I assumed it worked. But when I checked the dustbin it is still full. Am I missing something?
Can you tell does it hit furniture? Like if I have a big closet, does it scrape the bottom of the closet or does it bump into it and possibly damages it or scufs it?
Wow, 2 great new robo vacs in the span of 2 weeks. What a time to be alive! Gotta say though, the worse than average obstacle avoidance on the Q Revo is kind of a shame. In the grand scheme of things, if the manufacturers have to cut one feature to save on costs, I'd rather it be the auto-empty bin than obstacle avoidance. Having to do an inspection of the house for loose socks, shoe laces, and other large debris before every vacuum feels much more hands-on than having to empty a robot every once in a while.
I have to disagree. I own the device and the obstacle avoidance is definitely good enough. It will avoid shoes and stuff around that size, but not cords - It's not as good as S8 (what I returned for this Q revo), but I hated emptying and refilling stuff on the S8. I would rather have the "set it and forget it" mentality of not having to deal with emptying the bins and tanks on the robot intelf and do it all at the dock once a week. While I like to think the house is fairly clutter free, I do have kids and the Q revo runs circles on the S8. It's basically a S8 ultra max $1600 for half price - better mopping too!
One week into ownership, the Q Revo is truly amazing. Are there more expensive models that might be a little better? Probably, but the Q Revo can hold it's own at a fraction of the price. We bought direct from Roborock for 680-10% military discount, total cost $612.
I received mine yesterday, it's excellent. Roborock really knocked it out of the park with this one. I don't need obstacle avoidance and I actually disable it on my robots that have it since I don't have pets and I pick up a few things before running any of my robots. I can't believe Irobot is currently charging $1399 for the combo J9 Plus. In my opinion that is a rip off. No Lidar navigation and no mop spinning or vibration, and no mop washing or drying.
Spoiler: It's up as the number 3 robot on the website after the Ecovacs T20 and the Roborock S8. I hope to find out why exactly. Ecovacs did a great job there.
If you had a T20 you’d know it’s pretty bulletproof all round performance. Been very happy carpet or mopping. The obstacle avoidance of the Revo obviously pushes it down significantly otherwise they would be on par.
Just bought and used the q Revo. Couldn't be happier with the results. A price/quality top choice. A big thanks to this channel and the helpfull comments!
Ok that's it, it's in my cart. I choked on buying this during prime day and now I'm kicking myself. Even without the better optical avoidance this little bot is my next helper. I know you & the team probably get this a lot but thank you so much for everything you do here. I've been following for a very long time and i always check your channel before making a purchase. You have saved me so much heartache and frustration. Many thanks, and hats off.
I absolutely love my Q Revo! However I did want to ask, could you maybe test the validity of the filters and sealing on all the robots to see if they do actually have decent filtration? Recently I ran into some people questioning it and thought it might be worth the ask!
Have one arriving in 3 days from prime sale at 699 but costco just listed the ecovacs omni t10 at special 499. So trying to decide if should jump n T10 omni and return revo unopened
Almost perfect. That obstacle avoidance test and hair tangles killed it for me. The only issues I have with robot vacuums is them sucking up cables, and leftover socks. I just tested the Ecovacs T20 Omni and it was still horrible at obstacles avoidance. I wish Vacuum wars would update their obstacles avoidance test to not just be "dog poop" but also USB-C cables (due to girth), girls underwear (Yes, I constantly get my girlfriends thongs stuck in a robot vacuum) and such. I ran a test on the Ecovacs T20 Omni and it failed all 5 obstacles I had put out.
How's the mopping performance compared to the vibration ones? Is there an option to wash the tray? I watched your videos years ago and bought several robots since then😂
Thanks for this. The QRevo and the S7 Max Ultra are the same price in Europe. I like the easier cleaning on the q Revo although can't find replacement parts for the QRevo. What would you go for? They're both €/$800
Awesome Video! Thank you. How close to the wall does the mop clean? Is there less than an inch? Almost thinking to get a Tineco s5 to ensure the edges of the kitchen get clean but if the revo is very close, then I'd be fine with it. Thank you again.
what would you say is better the Q Revo or the Narwall Freo? they both around the same price atm ik the narwal does not have a self-empty-bin mode but to me that's not a deal breaker over all what does a better job in vacuum and mopping?
Do these Roborock bin self-emptying models go back to the dock if the bin fills before the entire floor cleaning cycle is finished? Or only at the end of the entire floor cleaning cycle? This is important to me because with several hairy pets the bin is likely to be full perhaps twice before the whole floor is cleaned. Especially if the vacuum isn't run every day.
I have waist length hair, and a really old roomba. My absolute least favourite thing about the roomba is cutting my hair out of the brush... Does the Qrevo system self clean the brush too, or is that something that must be done manually?
wow this seems to be the best of the best vaccum. I have S7+ but I hated its mopping. I loved Narval for spinning mop pads. but Narval cant lift pads. This seems like the one!
I have the Roborock S7+ which has been brilliant for the past 18-months, but last week I ordered this new Roborock Q REVO thinking it would be everything my old one was, but with object avoidance. Doh! 😞
Are the dust bags reusable? We have to empty our existing Shark Robot vac every day. We have multiple dogs and cats. I do not want to have to spend hundreds of dollars a year on replacement bags if I can avoid it?
Btw if you want people to be more open to a different voice you need to slowly build, do a "Vaccum wars discussion" or a "head to head" with each person picking their favourite. Maybe even split the channel with Air purifiers done with one person and vaccums with another. Other stuff like that would make people feel less of a jarring shift in tone
I currently own a S6 MaxV. I'm ok with it's performance, however better tech came to pass in recent times and I would like a better mopping performance and more confort with the the dock stations all these new models have ups and downs, can't seem to find the perfect one. However, which of the 2 have better navigation in your opinion? The revo or the s6 maxv? Which will do better with pet hair (I have a bernese mountain dog and have to vacuum daily)?
Thank you for the content. In the future I think it would make sense to give points on how easy it is to clean the cleaning station. The S7 and S8 really is quite hard to keep clean as you cannot remove all parts, and there are many nooks and crannies! This is in my opinion the biggest annoyance with these new all in one machines
Great review as always! I wanted a bit of advice: I bought the realme l10s ultra for 760€, but I don't like the idea of a camera that much. Also I run my robot when I'm not in the house, so there isn't much light for the camera. I planned to give the l10s ultra back and buy the Q revo, but the object avoidance is really bad. Do you think roborock will improve it, or it won't ever be much bette?
After countless arguments over the hoovering in our house and my lady screaming about a cleaner at stupid money, I finally bought one! Wish us luck as this has to be the best Xmas present ever for complete de-stress and more time for each other or getting the wash hung up! 😂
What does everyone use in the floor cleaning water as a detergent? I use 1 tablespoon of Murphy Oil Soap Wood Cleaner or 2 tablespoons of white vinegar in a full water reservoir . I think the Murphy's actually works a little better and has a pleasant smell.
I have an S5 and I'll be upgrading soon to an auto empty unit and I think this is the one I'm going to get. I never really use the mop on the S5 because it's such a pain to map out the hard floors only... So this seems like a game changer, especially at this price. I just wish they made a good stick vac. I had their previous one and it died on me... And I have to say I wasn't too happy with Roborock's customer service, but the robots are unmatched. Roborock for life, I tell everybody about them. You'd be surprised at how many people were burned with random navigation Roombas ten years ago and have no idea that new amazing tech like this exists. Thanks for your vids they're amazing!
I have 3 dogs and get lots of hair. just got the s7 max ultra but am worried i may get too much dust and hair in the cleaning brush and moving parts compared to the revo. i got the ultra for 999 and i could get a revo for 699 right now on sale. would you stay with what i have or go with the revo? thank you, new subscriber. love your content.
Hey I have an odd question… I’m having to replace my robot vacuum and would like to place the new one in a different location… inside a a cabinet with the kick plate/bottom trim removed so it can drive inside. Have you had any issues with your robots being set close to one another and getting “lost” or unable to find their charging dock? I have read that most of the manufacturers recommended lots of room on either side of the charging dock but your channel and others seem to have them all pretty much next to each other. Does it seem like having the dock in a cabinet with a few inches on either side will be enough room?
The Q Revo and Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni are almost the same price right now with the Q Revo priced at $679 and the T20 priced at $699. At the same price point, which is the better buy?
Another con is the small internal water tank, which can be a problem if you have several levels to clean for the levels where there is no base station.
What about the pricing on the bags for the vacuum? I seethat being one of the biggest downside for the L10 at least.? - Maybe something to add to the reviews going forward.
Ive got the S7maxV Ultra and this. I've got some dock issues with this one. It thinks there's a dock on every single map I've made (all 4 due to steps) so it phantom avoids an area. When I tell it to dock from the button on the robot, it EITHER mops or does a dust bin empty, but never both, and I literally always want it to do both. Never had either of these issues with the S7. But otherwise, it mops my kitchen tile floor (which has small reliefs in it, making the tiles more 3D) MUCH BETTER than the S7 with Pad ever did.
Will you be doing a vacuum shark cordless hydrovac vs tineco cordless wet vacuum I’m literally stuck in which one to buy and there’s not much comparison online for both! Please thank you! Love your videos
what do you think of Xiaomis offering? i think its called t10s. Looks like it does the same as the Q Revo at a lower price and it is built by Dreamy. Would love to hear your opinion on it as i don't buy any vac that has not been reviewed by you.
I was very much looking forward to this review but it's a bit disappointing (Features Score is missing, Performance Score is missing so can't compare to your other reviews). For the same price, what would be your feeling for vacuum + mopping hard floors (busy + pet, no carpet) between L10s Ultra, Q Revo, and S7 Pro Ultra (which appears to rely on the same obstacle avoidance as the Q Revo)?
Q Revo and S7 Max Ultra both (at least in theory) share the same technology for obstacle avoidance - Reactive Tech. Would you say they both perform identical when it comes to obstacle avoidance? Somehow poor performance is always mentioned in Q Revo reviews and not so much in S7 Max Ultra. Is S8 Pro Ultra worth the extra money for Reactive 3D technology if I don't need dual brush (no carpets) or extra suction power? I am debating between Q Revo (best dock in long term), S8 Pro Ultra (best avoidance?) or S7 Max Ultra (cheaper S8 without extras that I don't really need).
