Saw him at TFcon Orlando, he is without a doubt the coolest transformer I've ever seen. The way he seamlessly goes through both modes looks so natural and the little mechanical details during transformation really adds to the realism. Never have I been so close to pulling out the metal AMEX lmfaooo
This thing looks amazing. This is my favourite from Robosen, and is the most tempting. I just can not justify spending that much on one figure. Thank-you Bobby for the review, and thank-you to Robert D for sending it out for us to see. Much appreciated. Such a fantastic piece.
I would be way more interested if he was a digital assistant like Alexa or Siri. Like if he stomped around my shelf and said “Deceptigoons have changed weather. Rain today. Take umbrella.” Or if I told him to play music he says “Me Grimlock say your music sucks.”
The Blue Silver is related to the Marvel Comic (Sorry if someone already said it). Usually when there is a Comic deco (the MP8X, the FT08X, the New Age H44C) they all use Blue-ish silver. I believe in the comic they colored the parts that were supposed to be chromed in light blue to distinguish from normal gray.
Would absolutely love to own him, but A) haven't got the coin, and 2) haven't got the room. But massive respect (and no small amount of envy TBH) to all those who end up with this incredible piece.
I could have bought it 12 years ago adjusted to toy inflation which was around 30% of current price. I did not have all the MP and I could have just collect this line. Now, I have moved on to collect other stuffs.
Saw him in person at Botcon and after the Patreon unboxing, I almost pulled the trigger. I just can't at that price. Definitely see the appeal, though.
Does Robert just have that Scrooge McDuck money vault in his basement? $250 for shipping, that's nuts! Can't say I don't appreciate it though since he provides so many figures for review. Anyway, I think Gregg Berger's Grimlock voice hasn't aged as well as some of the others, but it's pretty cool either way. I actually think it looks better than the FansToys and GigaPower Grimlocks to some extent, but then it probably should for the price.
Is it wrong to feel like this is a better centerpiece than Unicron? But the power down really does kill the effect of having a standing robot just like the Optimus.
No. It may not be Optimus or Transformers Satan, but this is the best Robosen has to offer IMO. The transformation is a perfect encapsulation of the gimmick that makes the franchise. Also, it's a robot T-Rex, what more could anyone want from a centerpiece?
I have Grimlock but when in robot mode walking he mostly falls over when walking forward and backwards...but still like this toy robot. And hopefully robosen will give him an update to make him more stable.
It's great, just wish it was more affordable. But I absolutely hate the "I am dino-mighty" line, and would like to know if it can be replaced. I wonder what would happen if the app stopped being updated, is there an open source toolkit to control the robot should Robosen stop support/go away? Being picky I also wonder why they didn't put a servo to rotate his robot form head, it sort of looks like he's doing his actions with a stiff neck. But as picky as I am, I would very much like to spend some time playing with one, if I had the money for one 😊
I just don’t know about these. I feel like it’s something you play with for a month, then it sits on a shelf and you never touch it again. It’s a hell of a price tag and just seems unnecessary. Maybe it’s just me. Would be awesome if they all came with a wireless charging pad that charged through their feet. And after playing with it, it returns to the charging pad on its own. Like iRobot vacuums do.
Again, I think this is the best one they have released but the voice is so bad. Not only does he not sound like him more than half the time but the inconsistency makes it have somewhat of a KO feel. Someone other than Robert D must be buying them for them to keep making them.
Seriously, this has nothing on the Gigapower metal version. Except the self transforming gimmicks. And frankly, after playing with it once, are you going to play with it again? I’ve bought the Optimus on release. It sure is a cool toy, but a) once Robosen vanishes, and their app goes down, how will I be able to remote control my toy?, 2) it’s remote controlled. It has no autonomy, doesn’t see the environment it evolves into (no computer vision) and so is not a real robot. 3) can’t pose without power. For such a beautiful and massive toy, this should have been an option. So not going to splash $1,500, in 2023, for the same experience…
I honestly love this bot for $1,000 But after he transforms I lose interest. His commands are Not better than robosen prime. But his transformation is spot on Dino or bot he is over price by $400.00 he is well worth $1,000 But after he transforms a few times why doI just feel like Superman telling Stephen Wolf Not impressed!😂
