Too bad the voice acting sucks (except Domon I guess), and the story mode is hella basic. Game seems kinda fun tho. I can imagine going nuts over it as a kid, especially cuz I loved G Gundam.

G Gundam was literally made to capitalize on the Street Fighter II craze...it's every bit intentional. Domon even has Street Fighter moves in the Extreme Vs games. I love it!

It looks like they created low poly 3d models and then "drew" the spritework on top, which would explain why they look so 3d. Dead cells (and a bunch of other games, some of them are even recent) do this. It costs less than hand-drawn sprites, but can still look good, like in this case.

@@rofl22rofl22 they use multi-segmented sprites for the Mobile Suits to help them move smoothly. It works to its favor cuz of them being mechs

Actually they are not only bosses but also playable characters. Most of the mobile suits in the game are playable, so you could actually invite someone over and absolutely wreak their shit with Big Zam or any of the other big mobile suits.

​@@LeeONardo I'm not sure on the staff, I think it was Natsume that made that so it could be many people got their start in that company and moved on over the years, it would be hard to track, Endless Duel btw is a ridiculous good game, like my mind cant even understand how a game that good is even running on the super Nintendo, it feels almost like an early Neo Geo title, everything about it is awesome.

the only truly hard suit to unlock is psycho, everyone else can be earned by story clear and cheesing the TA and survival modes, except psycho, if you can get to him 9 times out of 10 he will 3 shot you.

I can tell from reading the comments that there is either a lot of people that play this game still or have at least played it before. There is an old thread on shoryuken forums that has tier lists and combos. Also there is a small scene of people that speedrun this game and there is a discord server for that. If you join the discord server I have posted some combos and videos for Bolt Gundam. I’m hoping that after this video more people will start playing this game. Also burning Gundam is one of the best characters, his down back kick special is a command dash that allows him to completely go through attacks for a certain amount of frames. You can use it to approach from certain distances and pressure or start combos in a way that can not be punished by most characters. You can dash through single hit projectiles or attacks that are already active.

@@rftrbnm850 I’m still playing on the original disc on ps1. I can’t help you with that sorry but apparently you can play this game online via emulation, which I wish I knew how to do.

Gear fighting gendoh.... Brings back memories man! I got that game from my uncle's collection. After playing the game for hours i noticed that the disc has scratches so some level won't load. So i tried to find a new one with clean disc. I remember i was carrying the disc cover around my game store since it was japanese and i can't read. "Excuse me, do you have THIS (showing the disc cover)". Surprisingly, i found no one that know that game.

You only start with that many for street mode, vs and other modes start you with 16

There's also 2 additional characters you can access via hack; Zeta Gundam and Hamma-Hamma. The roster is pretty large considering it was on ps1 and the sprites were all original.

@@xOmniCloudx no it wasn't as I'm friends with a fellow speedrunner who lives in Japan and to run a lot of fighting games. He has to run this game on emulator because it's hard to get a hold of a JP copy. The game was also released in EU as well. The original game was also released in JP but it was a sorta"championship edition" as Gundam battle assault (one) is listed as a different game on gamefaqs that was released in 98 with it getting a re-release in 01. So yeah I'll take his word on it supposed to say there is probably a JP version of 2.
