Robot Spirits RX-78GP03S Gundam GP03S (ver. ANIME) Review 

GP03's always a hard sell because in the anime proper we barely get to see it doing anything on it's own. The Dendrobium is such a main focus of it and that's expensive as hell to adapt into model kit/figure form. I do like the arm extending gimmick, but other than that it's really an ok suit with a neat bazooka. In general that's an unfortunate part of the messy final third of 0083. GP01 and GP02 are so iconic that the GP03 and Neue Ziel are both overshadowed. Hell I like the Neue Ziel, but that'd be expensive to get a hold of at a good size and it came after the GP02 which is one of the most iconic "evil" Gundams in the UC timeline.

Couldn’t find this one anywhere, probably my favorite GP unit. That’s okay, I went and bought the Powered GM for $170 because I’m an idiot for the opening of 0083. It’s just too cool, jumping around all those Zakus and showing the rookies up.

remembered seeing the msia, gundam fix and the hg 1/144 being released back then, and it really blew my mind, knowing how actually big the unit is. now waiting for the deep striker unit from sentinel.

Great review as always man. Got into your channel from raven flau and I’m glad I did because despite the prices being almost MG price I would love to collect some of these for stop motion purposes. Just gotta make sure they can fit in my budget with my gunpla collecting 😂

That was a great review, do you expect the robot spirit Dendrobium to come out as a Stamen equivalent? Looking at other reviews, I've heard that this product is a perfect match for HG dendrobium.

Still mildly pissed that we'll never get a high end neue zeil figure because of its size. The model kits do it no justice

Just waiting for bbts to ship mine. I kind of love this gundams design. I don't know why either.

The only thing that seems novel and nice to me are the folding bazookas. I'd buy those for a buck or something. I'll pay five if I can get spare mags and firing effects. The suit itself isn't just bland but also clunky, which is quite the odd thing to pull off. Even GP02 wasn't entirely bland. I wish suits could stop the damn Red White Blue Yellow tradition. A coat of paint could sell this better.

Got mine today and found myself surprisingly frustrated by it. I have never had any form of GP03, but in hand the design itself and the execution here leaves a lot to be desired. The MS itself is much busier than the GP01 or FB, and somehow it’s more awkward looking than the GP02 which has its own presence. The GP03’s main “gimmick” is big as hip thrusters and smaller backpack thrusters; but unlike the full burner which places the big thrusters as a backpack, the GP03’s binders give it a lot of visual mass in the middle of the suit- it looks like a waiter with an apron full of stuff. In toy form here, the binders and hip skirts seem clunky; I don’t understand why they choose to make the thrust effects attach the way they do.. The “arm extension” gimmick looks accurate to screen and is pretty impressive in its execution, but...the gimmick itself is dumb. It serves no purpose other than to reach stuff on a giant weapons platform; it’s not like the Shen long or virsago’s arm gimmicks. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker that would buy a robot damashii orchis...but the arms look dumb. So...bring on the gerbera tetra?
