I remember renting this gem at the grocery store down the street from my apartment back in the nineties. I remember being able to rent movies at that grocery store for less than a dollar. It's funny how you look back at those times when you're starting out and even though you have no money you're always able to have a good time and make the best of things like watching a cheesy movie and eating noodles because that's all you can afford.
One of my earliest childhood memories was watching this movie with my dad on a small crt tv. This very well could have been the first movie I've ever seen.
Hey mate, thanks for uploading this, I remember seeing the trailer for this movie on RU-vid when I was 9. I finally get to see it after all these years thanks so much.
Guys like Charles Band and Albert Pyun don’t get half the amount of praise they deserve. Alert Pyun in my eyes strove towards making the greatest cyborg movie ever made and Charles Band knew that there was fans for his dreams in that came out in the form of movies
This was the tail end of Empire Pictures' robot mechs trilogy.Thank you for uploading this near classic. Some of the finest stop motion ever, rivaling the great Ray Harryhausen. The other 2 were ROBOT JOX and CRASH AND BURN.
In the 90's, there was a "mom & pop" video store across the street from a job I was at for 4 years. They had a '5 movies for 5 days for 5 dollars'-special on their older and eclectic stuff. This was one of those movies I "binged" on.
I'd disagree about the actors, but you know we all have our opionions. We all remember those times - A whole Genre of really bad Sci-Fi movies and TV shows, like Lost in Space, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of The Lost, Batman, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Buckeroo Bonzai, All the Godzilla, Rhodan and Mothra Movies (really the worst of the worst!) but as young kids they were great ways to kill a Saturday afternoon when Mom kicked us out of the house!! The only TV show that stood out for being excellent was Star Trek. Good actors, plots portraying today's current morality issues in the future settings and way ahead of its time.
If you are from the US, you can't be more ignorant. The "AI" dates back to the 50s, and since the 2010s there has been so much hype about "AI" that it has become meaningless.😂
from a film about a battle between robots, now in 2024. The Soviet Union created a vehicle shaped like a robot bear, and a plane shaped like an iron bird. Finally it was also created in the future to be used during battles and wars
Holy cow I'm sitting here watching the credits go by staring at the scream 1993 in July of 1993 I would have been 17 hard to believe that that was like 20 years ago already the mind makes you feel young at your body that says you know what you're starting to get old be aware of the mind will fool you
Lol, the 80s and 90s. The age of good bad movies. If this movie had had a few GOOD actors it would have been another Terminator, another Alien, another Robocop.
That guy say general Wally? Mr miyagi's best friend is general Wally! Lol. And the guy who said it looks like the guy that plays the son in karate kid part 2
this is much better than robot jox that came out as part 1 this is unofficial part 2. in-between also came out Crash and Burn from 1991 which is the best in the series
Thanks for sharing. In those days a B-production. Still is. But good video and audio .Reasonable cast. Over the top Drake , Boss and General W characters though. But fits the polarizing format .West against always smiling deceiving not to be trusted Asians.😝 Lacks erotic elements.
Rented this in the nineties from Blockbuster. Barbara Crampton is the 80s - 90s B movie queen, From Beyond is great. Forgot a young Lisa Rinna is in this pre plastic surgery ( nose job and plump lips )
Sry.. fell asleep after she hit him, I'd of hit him a few more times lol..but 30 years old ... Will try again later to rewatch it. Played to the end so you got viewing time from me lol
Wow, they used to call these types of movies "B" movies but this one rates as "C -" or "D" !!!!! Best scene was the blonde woman in the bath robe! This movie is actually worse than similar movies like "Buckeroo Bonzai in the 8th Dimension" hard to imagine!! It was really tough getting through the first 5-8 minutes then the movie suddenly got much better when I fell asleep!
Yeah, this was pretty bad for it's time... Buckaroo Banzai from 10 years earlier actually had a much bigger budget - $17M in 1984 - which was probably about 10 times the budget for this "direct to VHS" release by Full Moon CEO Charles Band. That year he released a total of 10 similarly budgeted videos including other timeless classics like "Doctor Mordrid", "Trancers III", "Subspecies II", "Subspecies III", "Prehysteria", "Mandroid", "Invisible", "Dollman vs. Demonic Toys" and "Remote" (I extracted that from an archived 1992 Variety article which is kind of interesting). I'm not sure if any of those are worth watching - but I might have seen "Trancers 1" in the 80s...
Lol....lol....the pilot in the beginning all bouncing and shaking all over the place and the co pilot was sitting still as a bird on a branch !!! Lol..lol... Now thats some damn fine acting if i ever seen one !!! Lol...lol...ha ha lol...lol....but i do love me some old sci fi corny as hell flix !!! Lol...lol...ha ha
I watched about 10 min of this thinking it was a spoof of Sci-Fi movies until I figured out it is just the worst Sci-Fi movie ever made. It is a 100% waste of time.
Gotta love the 80's "CGI" effects. "Washington types. What a lovely bunch of coconuts. Ha ha ha." This carries well even now. "Smash them like tortillas." My new catchphrase for when I visit Mexican restaurants. "Stop acting like a weak sister." So progressive in the "future". I assume this is supposed to be the future. "Please remain calm. Your safety is completely assured." As you sit in a war machine in the middle of a combat area in battle with a hostile enemy. So, let me get this straight. All these passengers get on board a vehicle shaped like a giant scorpion armed with weapons and they are unaware that they would be crossing a battlefield and engaging enemies to reach their destination. Also, the command center knows full well of the situation and that their war machine would be carrying innocent civilians into the war zone, but not telling them so. Ok, got it. Not even 10 minutes in and this movie is too cringy and cheesy even for me to keep watching. Have fun whoever keeps watching.
