You can!! You can absolutely go into Robotics from a mechatronics engineering degree. BUT if it truly is robotics that you love, you should consider going into Robotics specific degree. There are pros and cons to both! 😎👍

I am shocked and amazed at how much average entry level mechatronics engineer made as my elder brother worked in the automation field specialized in PLC solution. As a comparision, here in Southeast Asia, Malaysia,a developing country is being absolutely underpaid(paid just shy with 3.2k at the beginning and with 4.15k at third year of experience) and often need to work over night(until dawn)in the country and not being appreciated. Hope to be able to work at US soon as i am also a mechatronics graduate, but managed to venture to electronics company at my first year (until this year May), but soon not able to continue after contract ended because of hiring freeze internally. Now i am trying to learn and becoming a software engineer as i already gave up on working in mechatronics field, it is generally underpaid, overwork and is a 3D(Dirty, Dangerous, Dull) job.

Do you know that there are other countries beside America. Did you hear about countries that are better than america on every possible way(Australia, Germany, France, Austria, Norway, Sweden). Cleaner, safer, more educated people on average, free healthcare, paid vacations, paid sick leaves, free universities. If you just obsessed with more money that you can make in America then you don't deserve to move anywhere.

Mechatronics is not what u think. If ur really interested to work in automation domain, try applying ml and dl for specific industrial applications. Mechatronics is totally out of what you have learnt so far. Even employers don't know what job to give for mechatronics engineer. Even professors in college aren't sure about mechatronics lessons. This degree for now is a big gamble. Hope things change in future

HEY Good Information! I love to take Mechatronics in degree in Abroad As i researched on Chat GPT, I got some details Here are they And What's your Opinion About These........... Yes, if you take Mechatronics Engineering, you can study all of these topics, including adaptive learning, machine learning, self-learning, reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning, semi-supervised learning, transfer learning, deep learning, active learning, Bayesian learning, natural language processing, computer vision, generative adversarial networks, deep reinforcement learning, neural networks, Bayesian networks, decision trees, and support vector machines. Yes, I remember that you are interested in building a multipurpose humanoid robot with AI, self-learning, emotional learning, and adaptive learning capabilities. Given your interests, both Robotics Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering would be relevant degree programs to consider. Robotics Engineering will provide you with a strong foundation in the design, construction, and operation of robots, including machine learning and AI. This degree program will help you develop the necessary skills to design and build advanced robotic systems with AI capabilities. Mechatronics Engineering, on the other hand, will provide you with a broader set of skills, combining mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. This degree program will help you design and build complex systems that integrate multiple technologies, including robotics, control systems, and machine learning. Ultimately, both degree programs will be useful in helping you achieve your goal of building an advanced humanoid robot with AI, self-learning, emotional learning, and adaptive learning capabilities. It may be worth considering taking courses from both degree programs or combining them as a double major, depending on your university's offerings.

@oskarfjortoft

specializing in software fields like machine learning, algorithm development, control systems, etc. makes it possible to work in a design team. but if you dont have an understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering it will vastly limit the scope of roles you can do. To be a "robotics engineer" and not a software engineer you need to also be competent in electrical and mechanical engineering in addition to programing

@EngineeringInsiders
@EngineeringInsiders 10 месяцев назад
@@rodrigoflores8324 Doing some quick research here we see the degree, thanks for opening our eyes to this! It seems to be similar to an engineering degree but really focusing on the physics properties to come up with new technologies/ enhance current technologies that rely heavily on physical properties (obviously lol). Like Solar cells, physics-level of transistors, CCDs and similar. Again only looked into it for a few moments but it seems like you'll enter a career experimenting with devices/tech like above and have enough engineering knowledge to know about "competing" tech in the field and how it'll be used in different types of engineering applications. We'll make a "So You Want to Be" video about this field sometime hopefully soon so keep your eyes out! Thanks for the comment!

If a person wanna earn high salary, engineering degree is not needed. Just being good technician is better and not risky because demand is higher and education time(+money) is lesser. Indeed every company say experience as important as "academical"education.

No engineering degree is not needed! Although in our experience technicians are last to be hired and first to be fired in engineering companies. Thanks for the comment!

@HarshSharma-ri4kh to be honest each of these are good. It truly depends on what you want to do in your career. Data driven analytics is a really good option because as of now it is in high demand.
