Thanks for these! I chanced upon a very nice twin stick arcade controller (estate find 😥), so now robotron and crazy climber basically have to become 'my jam' now. 'Keep the kid alive on the brain stage'--that alone is probably enough to topple my first day's PB. I'll do another hour or so and come back for the second vid 👍
Nice vid. My fave game of all time. Another tip when playing Robotron, I'd say would be to try to stay in the center of the board for as long as you can, while it is inevitable you will have to go around in circles, you are always much safer in the center of the board, all the enemies Firepower is a lot slower. By the way my unofficial five men record is now 963 k
Nice addition to the channel. I only got to play this for a few minutes when I visited Galloping Ghosts but it was fun when I did. Looking forward to more.
I remember when we first got our computer in the 80's and had this Space Invaders clone and I played that game for hours. You know you play too much of a game when you go to sleep and your mind is still playing the game. lol I'm wondering if this has ever happened to you playing a long session of Robotron?
A FEW QUESTIONS: 1) If the number of points required to get extra robots were increased over 25,000, would the scores reduce proportionately or greater? For example, if it took 50,000 points which the scores be cut by more than 50%? 2) Are there contests where players start with a fixed set of robots and whoever has the highest score wins? 3) Do they have contests where they tabulate the highest scores after a certain number of waves (say 100) to see who has the highest score, whether or not there is a chance to earn extra robots any any point level or not? I ask because I am the least-bit interested in seeing players play marathons.
This was great! I think the concept is excellent, and the only idea I have would be to possibly go a little bit more in depth with any tricks in the gameplay. The tip in wave five was great to have, and more like that would be a nice touch.
Great idea. We're definitely going to start this series with some of the lesser-known games. No pac man, donkey kong, or galaga for now :) Sinistar is a great one.
Nice! This game is totally worth building a twin stick setup just to play (if you don't have the arcade machine). I think I would do very at this game if I tried, my reaction time does not seemed to have slowed anyway (based on todays gaming anyway :))
Hi gregg great tips !! I can just get past the first brain wave but only maybe one in five games. wot sticks are you using on this set up ? Ive got sanwa jlf's and just dont feel right to me cheers
Nice video thanks would be cool to see more like it need all the help I can get. :) Also nice controller that's what I meant when we spoke at PAX AU specific type of controller for each game type in MAME.
It's definitely impossible to save every mommy, daddy, and Mikey clone on the video game screen. There's no little girl Janey clone on the video game screen. 🎮
