The learning tools, made by French company Aldebaran Robotics, are being used to teach children with autism about the subtleties of human communication and emotion and to bring them out of their shells in the classroom. NBC's Michelle Kosinski reports.

Nice to see a "toy" do that. Not sure the researchers that designed it would like to call it a toy... it's more like a beautiful tool when it helps for autism.

+AldebaranRobotics I'm interested in this but for adults. I live in a care home and feel they need something like this to help not the reading socialeyes books etc...this is a teaching too which is very beneficial to anyone on the spectrum. I still have problems as a adult with AS because my AS was not picked up till later in life. I just feel upset how everything refers to children with autism when us adults need just as much help. Also why would you call a robot that is helping people with autism or any other communication disorder a 'toy' 😐

Shirley Hardrix They're called, "Nao" and they're made by Aldeberan Robotics, but they're extremely expensive.
