Golf putter fitting is important for every golfer, but it's even more important for professional golfers who make a living rolling in birdies. Rocco Mediate, a 6-time winner on the PGA Tour and 4-time winner on the PGA Tour Champions, is one of those professional golfers. Got fitted for a putter at 2nd swing last week. They didn't use any video analysis of my stroke. Just eye balled it. Got a putter that might not suit my stroke .

Re the face balancing reducing the torque that has to be overcome. I find that spinning the putter in your fingers will give surprising insight into the true nature of that. Especially in playing position. Face balanced mallets can present a lot more torque to deal with than we've always thought. I'm getting interested in the torque balanced companies. I have an old SeeMore and the difference in torque is huge. It seems so much easier to keep square at impact than my face balanced Odyssey. What if anything are you doing with torque balanced putters? Thanks.

Larry, I really enjoyed the video! Rocco seems like a pretty cool dude!! Actually, I know he is a super nice guy from seeing him over the years! Anyways, I tend to putt with the toe up. I am actually a pretty good putter, but the toe is always up. I know Seve did this too! Is this a bad thing or not necessarily? Also, is that a sign my putter is too long for me or just that I need to play a flatter lie angle? Thanks, Joe

There have been successful golfers that have putted toe up. If you are a good putter it's not necessary to touch but if you think you can be a better putter I would look into either a shorter putter or flatter lie or at least complete a putter fitting to see what the dynamic lie/loft is like at impact - Thomas

Very nice to see how the pros are eagger to improve and also need help. I enjoy very much Larry & Thomas videos, I wish I could travel one day all the way from Argentina to Minnetonka to meet these awesome guys, and of course to take advantage of a tour van fitting experience!

Do the variable loft putters require a putter fitting in the same way a flat face putter does?

Yes I would still go through a putter fitting! The loft changes will help if your hands are too far back or forward at impact to get a consistent roll. - Thomas

Is the “no arc” on 8 feet and in principle true with putters that aren’t forearm locked?

It's going to be player dependent but there is going to be some form of an arc just how much will depend on the stroke type - Thomas

Brilliant. Thanks for posting this. Rocco is the real deal, love his persona. Ones swing path can easily be transposed to their putting stroke. Heading from an inside path can hurt when it comes to putting. I tend to get too much from the inside also. Now that i switched to a LAB DF 2.1 my putting has been phenomenal. Game changer. I now have a slight arc but the lie angle balanced concept is beyond brilliant. Im not fighting to keep the head square especially on the short putts

When fitting we are focusing on the ball roll only. Putting is more of an art and when fitting we are not giving a putting lesson which is why we don't need the club data. - Thomas
