This started when I was at school and had to tape it on VHS due to it being on too late for my parents to let me stay up it, so watched it next day. Loved this show and discovered some great bands because of it.
Yeah i used to watch this show and it's predecessor 'the Power Hour' from 1989-1992. There's 3 Queen albums in the chart here so it's late 1991 i should think as a tribute to the late Freddie Mercury who had just died.
True, I love watching this, takes me right back to when Raw Power was on ITV in the early 90's late at night. Before the advent of the Net and the only way to catch up with your fave Bands goings on was to buy Kerrang! (which I still do) Metal Hammer and Raw Magazine, and the only way to hear what a Band sounded like was to either watch this, A Rock Show on the Radio (if you had one) or to buy the Albums/singles. Or maybe if a Store had "Listening Posts" you could do that. Its sooo easy now.
Oh yes I remembered those days, when hard rock/metal was rarely played on radio, except for the rock shows on Radio One and TV programmes like Raw Power. Today is a different world (in another way it's lost its magic in terms of hunting music by going out of the home), where you can listen to that music 24 hours a day via the internet.
(cont)...I have an Episode of Raw Power that I recorded on VCR that was Broadcast in 1992 during the Launch of the first Wayne's World Film. I have it Transferred to DVD (I still prefer to buy and own DVDs instead of recording digitally, at least with DVDs you can't accidently wipe things with an accidental pressing of the wrong Button) and maybe I'll be able to put it up on RU-vid some Day.
So many good memories from this period. Do you have any complete episodes of Raw Power from between August 1991 and October 1992, please? I'd love to see them!
