This is a video from a weekend adventure to Stora and Lilla Skramsö outside Stockholm.
We gathered some friends, grabbed our tents and bunked up food and drinks for an exiting weekend adventure. None of us had been there before but we knew from the guide books that the access was tricky, since both Lilla Skramsö (base camp) and Stora Skramsö (climbing area) are Islands… “Heeeey lets just swim over guys!” someone said. But we packed two simple plastic boats for luggage transport over the longest strait between mainland to Lilla Skramsö, which was around 40 meters. Wow, I am glad we did! The water out in Stockholm archipelago is really cold in late summer!
In our opinion this is one of Stockholmes finest crags. The crag facing south just near the water creates absolutely amazing scenery. There are mostly sport routes, but also some trad. There are also some routes for DWS.
BTW, the Swedish Climbing Community has now arranged a rowing boat for transportation over to the Islands. The boat is for climbers and can be found at Ekudden on Yxlö.
