Billy is one of the best, so much greater than people will give him credit for. He is so far beyond most artists, and he is about being true to your art not your image.
Of course I love all the hits. But my favorite Album was Adore🥰 There is not a song on that album that I don’t know and still don’t listen to. I knew it wasn’t Smashing Pumpkins most popular album. For some reason Adore I appreciated the most. Now my 9 year old daughter, who is very artsy and loves all things art related, also enjoys the Adore album, very sweet for me to experience that with her.
Adore is really great, I think it hit those of us with wider musical tastes differently (as in we heard it for what it was so could enjoy it fully), it’s great to see it finally see it finally get the love it deserves. It was a massive shift away from Gish, Siamese Dream -which is frankly legendary-, and MCIS, and some people were and are sadly purist to that previous era.
Siamese was for more instrumental in my life. Than anything Nirvana put out. And Nirvana was a great band. But they never spoke to me. I must of listened to the whole album of Siamese Dream, for a whole year every night before I went to sleep. That was never Nirvana. Not the mention I stole the Siamese Dream record from a friend. But I also knew he would forget about the record in a week. And I was right. He never even cared that it was missing. But for me! It helped me through some very tough times. And terrible depression.
I’ve always loved this album as well. As a matter of fact this was my 1st SP album I purchased. I think I remember going to Kmart and I held onto the album the whole time my mom was shopping. I had been hearing their music prior to but now I got good collection of SP albums. Now with Atum I feel it’s like a Mellon Collie in the newest era. I only hope her Kaleidoscope copy one day and Machina II. Speed kills is my favorite on that album. Love WPC and ❤❤❤❤
Wow I am the “667” like on this video. I’m so glad I continue to have some luck. Our Pumpkins need more love. I will forever be greatful to this band in helping me get through my teen years. Love you Billy 🥰
Ah, but Adore was a great album, I practically depleted my bank account (broke college girl at the time) to see your poetry reading, and Zwan & your solo effort became soundtracks to my late teens and early 20s.
Thank you for uploading this!! If you haven’t heard it, go to the interview Joe Rogan did with Billy and he tells crazy stories about his Dad that are entertaining 👌🏻
To connect and love a person by what they choose to show you of themselves is in itself very dangerous. To still be there after all the god within created and the devil destroyed, proves you connected and love that person.
SIAMESE DREAM IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE ALBUM ...... QUITE MAYONNAISE SOMA HUMMER TODAY ROCKET LUNA DISARM CHEBRUB ROCK SWEET SWEET....... I hope I got them all lol
I also scored the highest on the musical aptitude test in elementary school! Then I became a drummer. 😆 Billy's the man, I don't care what anybody says.
Billy just needs to except the fact that Siamese Dream was and is a special thing, a masterpiece and if fans want to tell him that and thank for that album him he shouldn't get upset about it.
In the Rick Beato interview he said "I'm not blaming the audience anymore, that period of my life is over", the recent live setlist confirms that I think.
@@palms159 yeah, I heard him say that on camera to everyone too, but I spoke with him literally in person while he was here in Nashville recording the album and he personally was turned off by me mentioning how about a Siamese dream is a masterpiece. Do you think he’d be flattered but I get it artist want to be recognized for THEIR latest work to but that usually doesn’t happen with most bands
@@enorrismusic it's kind of like having someone repeatedly tell you your first born is brilliant, while your other children are dimwits, I know it's a weird metaphor but it's almost as if he's trying to point out that he can't make another Siamese Dream, simple as that, and is simply sick of hearing about that record, even though I'm sure he's aware that his life pretty much rests on the quality and the success of that record. and kudos for having the nerve to bring that up with billy.
@Eric Norris you know what really sucks..... is how much we love that album and when you see the creator dislike hearing that...... what a fkn blow. That album got me through a lot of bad times.
He had two amazing albums in him (Gish, and Siamese Dream), and that was all. I respect Billy as a musician and as a man. But let’s be honest about his music. He is still a genius for two albums, which is more than I can say for my musical accomplishments.
Too bad this video relies on an interview at a time when Billy was particularly pretentious and eager to change facts so they would suit him better. I mean, his music test story, it sounds like a total fantasy.
