@@tommyottosen3951 Yeah but Gai is the probably most powerfull human beign in that universe without any external power or genetics. He is just a ordinary person with unlimited will.
The thing I love about Lee during this arc is his cockiness and his skills to back it up. It's like he knew he was miles ahead of everyone in terms of skill
@@scarfacemartinez only because he has to fight gaara if it were other people then Lee would without a doubt win with east, and he almost win against gaara too
Like lee said to Sasuke: people like Sasuke are born with everything in their hand, while people like lee have to work hard and get their skills by working
the reason why this particular fight is so freaking good, is because this is when gaara was a murderer, and everyone feared for rock lees safety, because he doesn't know anything but taijutsu. little did any of us know, this man has been training for years with an extra ton (2100 lbs). and I believe he was the first to not only hit gaara, but broke through his seemingly impenetrable defense. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@TFoxhound the speed cannot be copied, that is what he trains with kakashi, what he did copy was lee's movements (this is the way lee kicks), although it is nonsense since sasuke was not there when lee fought...
@@endyourway8751 that's what I was thinking. I know they fought once but lee wasn't even using his full speed so how would Kakashi explain just how fast he was moving and train Sasuke to reach such a level? Unless the sharingan's hidden ability is data transfer...
@@endyourway8751 you so know that saskue copied Lee's movements when they met when they had to do the heaven and earth scrolls incident remember when they first met gaara and Lee and saskue fought Lee beat saskues ass that's when he copied his movements
When i first saw the announcement of lee vs gaara while watching naruto I was like...damnn Thats unfair match...Gaara will kill him Little did i know i was gonna watch history in the making
This fight is what ultimately got a lot of people into Naruto, and introduced an antagonist who would make a major change to the plot. This is the first time they encountered someone their age, other than Haku, being very dangerous and believably unbeatable. This fight is when things, arguably, started getting serious.
One of the best fights in anime. It was so unexpected, that this fight was going to be so good. It went to epic levels. Lee wasn't really taken seriously up to this point, and we didn't really know much about him, but boy did he surprise us all!
Back when there was no youtube or normal working websites where I could watch anime. My friend hyped up this show called Naruto and gave me a CD which he put some random Naruto episode on it. My brother helped me with the video player and we watched the show together. It was the episode with Rock Lee vs Gaara. And holy crap, what an episode to start the show.
*This fight made Naruto the most popular Anime.* You share it with someone and they immediately go to the beginning and tolerate all the filler till the end.
2000s anime already had a decent amount of sakuga animators actually. But they were there, albeit rare, even in the 90s. The legendary Yutaka Nakamura first got the spotlight in the late 90s. But ultimately, I don't think being a 2000s anime means it doesn't have great animation. Just that there's a significant abundance of great animators nowadays, likely inspired by the OGs.
This single handedly not only makes me want to rewatch Naruto, but makes me wanna get the latest fighting game, provided its got everything from beginning to end of Naruto.
Oh Lee? Well to be fair he did try to fight when he was still healing from the damage caused by Gaara. Other times he didn’t really intend to win fights, mostly he just wanted to buy some time. Lee prefers fighting with others beside him, because he knows his own strengths and weaknesses. He can’t take on many people by himself unless he constantly uses the Gates or Lotus, which as we see in this fight is exhausting.
I love how universal the reaction is when Lee finally injures Gaara! It's been built up so much about this invulnerable dude and Lee just double ax-kick's him in the noggin - its so satisfying in such an aesthetically pleasing way, too
Bruh the first one at the top left side corner the guy wearing the naruto head band is just so funny it looks like a vr headset lol I am laughing so hard
I wonder if they realize that the sand encasement is literally hiding Gaara's murderous expression by being shaped to give him a stoic one. Haven't seen many people pick up on that.
Top Best fights in Naruto Rock lee x Gaara Sasuke x Naruto The one in the final valley Rock Lee and Gaara x Kimimaro Orochimaru x hiruzen. Showing How rock Lee was lit in Og, in Shippuden kishimoto forgot him but at least he's One of Best characters in Naruto If Not The Best characters imo he's The Best because He's in the Dopest fights
It wasn’t so much the power of One Tails that caused Lee to lose, Gaara is considerably a powerful ninja on his own. The bigger reason why he won was because he was driven by the belief that he needed to stay alive and kill everyone else. He had NEVER lost a fight before this and Lee pushed him to a limit he hadn’t been in a long time, so he was also slightly bitter and didn’t want to lose.
I remember being a kid, maybe in like 4th grade and going to Albertsons grocery store with my mom and I was in the book section. Saw some drawings on a magazine called shounen jump. Had shaman king, hunter x hunter, and all kinds of shit. A few years pass and I kept walking to that Albertsons to buy them every month. Eventually Naruto started getting printed on their. Quickly became an interest, and then several years pass by. AND fucking boom, Naruto had a cartoon on toonami. Didn’t know that they were called anime but was so invested in the show and then the Rock Lee vs Garaa fight happened and in middle school I wouldn’t shut up about how cool it was. So many other kids were like TOU WATCH NARUTO?! Hahaha and we started playing some ninja mimic game because of it. Ahhhh fun times.
This is what Bruce Lee said long time ago, you musnt fear a person who have multiple talent, instead you must be really careful against someone with 1 talent but honed it to the fullest
Rock Lee definitely deserved a bit more light in this anime. I think the creators used rock Lee as a Is beacon for hope for the other characters so it kind of worked itself out. But just imagine how op rock Lee would have been if it weren't for his injuries. It shows what a less than talented person can still do considering the odds.
"Superb, amazing! Can't wait to see what he can do in shippud-" Kishimoto: Rock Lee peaked "Wait wh-" Kishimoto: Actually the whole series pretty much peaked here lol bye "What the fuck"
He did ultimately but Lee DEFINITELY gave Gaara a run for his money. This is probably one of the most intense fights Gaara had had in a while and he loves a challenge. He hadn’t even been touched before this so when Lee landed a hit on him and forced him to use Sand Armor, he knew this wouldn’t be an easy win. When Gaara returns to Temari after the fight, he almost collapses because he used up so much chakra to cripple Lee. This says a lot about Gaara because at the time we didn’t see all of his abilities and that was WITHOUT One Tails’ power, if Lee had lasted a bit longer we probably would’ve seen Gaara come pretty close to defeat.
