We didn't have computers, smartphones, tablets, etc. TV wasn't the same either and we didn't know anything about DVD's, much less MP3 or Blu-Ray. We were happy just to listen to the music every now and then but mostly to play outside.Just being out of the house with friends was enough for us. I used to go to every Tacoma Rockets hockey game when I was around 10 years old. The radio station sponsor was classic rock and always played this between plays. The crowd would always yell “Tacoma!” when the line came. Miss those days.

Just saw him live. Ironically for the 1st time since 1971. His voice remains amazing with every song keeping a special place in my life. Used to encores at this place of 1 song. Out he comes with the Joker. - expected, eh? However, he tells a great story after the song and ends the show with Rock N me Baby. It is as great or greater than I write. A beauty!
First time I heard this song I was on the highway driving to the beach for the better part of an hour to meet my girl at the time, I had just picked up a dab cart to be perfectly honest lol. Anyways I got on the freeway and took a fat rip right as this song came on my radio, it was just in sync with my driving, the sun was blaring and I was feeling real good. Steve Miller could take a basic arrangement with minimal instrumentation (rhythm guitar, bass and drums), add his vocals to it and crank out a hit song. Take the Money and Run and Serenade are other examples. A heavy, driving four-on-the-floor rhythm is what propelled these songs. This is classic rock at its finest.
David Lynch (the movie director/artist) has recommended this tune a few times, it's a favorite of mine from the days of vinyl, good way to get the week end started. If Lynch digs it, well that's high praise indeed!! I'm going to jam out to this today while I clean the place and hopefully feel inspired enough to paint a masterpiece, ha!

I was really blessed, My brother worked as a manager for the Record Bar , and he had 100s of demonstration not for sale, & of course he had a real nice audio set up with these speakers that cost a 1000$$$ a pc and boy I got to hear a lot of great music, from my sister & he which were older than I to the new up coming I would get high & listen to all the albums all the way through from all the Beatles to the first Tom Petty & the Heart Breakers
