I have a TE300 as well as a W 250, the stock forks are two short on both models. I could not run the forks low enough to get rid of the stink bug. Had some BlackJacks made 7mm longer. Run them about 3mm past stock. Made my W feel like an XC. Havent got the TE figured out yet with the BJs, found an old Traxx shock for it that works pretty good.
This bike rides like a chopper. Sag at 100 and forks are slide up in the triple clamps to the bottom line on the fork tube. It helped. But still rides like a chopper. Assuming because the valving is too soft and doesn’t have any hold up. I’m getting the shock revalved this week to match the TX shock. Hope it helps.
ya at 100mm of sag you should have plenty of weight on the front, this old Traxx shock I picked up holds up in the stroke better than stock to the point I am running 3mm lower than flush of the stock fork length with my BlacksJack, your 6500's should have the same performance so once you have better shock valving things should improve.. @@STFCompound
The forks look like they provide to much feedback thru the front end. It looks harsh. I remember having a ktm that felt like that, then I got FC to do the suspension and go a few more hours on it and it was all good after that. Not great, but good lol
I have not rode a 250x with a 300 kit on it. I’d like too sometime. Eventually I’ll end up back on a 250X. Best bike on the market if you ask me. I had 3 and loved all of them
Only did the forks so far. I’m getting the shock Re valved this week because it’s too soft. This is the enduro model. So really it’s not meant for racing at my speeds lol. The motor is great. The suspension is not. The stock kyb suspension is twice as good as these 6500 inserts. But I’m trying to tune them so they work for me. Hopefully this weekend I’ll have a better setup and make some progress. Forks are really harsh on the initial hit. If I could have this motor on a YZ250 frame. I’d be unstoppable lol
