I like how in garou they make rock’s flame blue like geese when he loses control and more golden when embracing terry’s red flames shame they kinda butched it in kof 14-15 later but this could be interpreted as him rejecting geese’s influence on him more despite using his moves
I really like how Rock Deadly Rave started at Garou as manual input, then as time goes by he become more experienced fighters, his Deadly Rave now become automatic input
But it's worked right? Yes KOF doesn't age but it doesn't mean they didn't develop new moveset, like Ralf and Clark, they adding a lot of moveset as game progress, also Kyo drastically changed from all around type to rush down type 😁
I've always loved his teenager design, they did it more in the style of KOF than a Fatal Fury game, thank God we will have the sequel of Garou and maybe we will see some new moves that the character does, we have already seen him in Maximum Impact as well as in KOF XIV and XV. 🔥🔥💗💗👌👌
Rock is one of my favorite characters not only from SNK, but from any franchise. But the new video games have not been able to develop his story full of enigmas and torments that make him so great. For example, I do not see anywhere that they touch on the subject of his purple flames or suggest any connection with the curse of Orochi and his curse of the blood. 🔺️ In fact, they haven't been able to develop any of the company's characters... Orochi's return 10 years later... or the truth about the Bogard's father and the fable of the lion king and his cub... The clone of Kyo with an identity crisis similar to what happened with Krisalid... And the decision to canonically bring back the New Faces CYS team with the ridiculousness that Chris should be 20 years old but is still 13... How many wasted opportunities to make a good plot as in the tournaments of 97 or 2000. 🙌
For someone who comes out giving an impression of lore knowledge, you really lack some basic understanding of how KOF works. The series will never develop anything on FF characters... it was never meant to. KOF is concerned with its own world, and FF is something completely separated. FF developments belong to the FF series, and it's not KOF's problem that it happens to be dead. You might dislike or disagree with that way of working (i dislike it to some extent), but it's an old and basic knowledge of KOF story that's been known since the 90s.
Rock's evil blood isn't related to Orochi at all. It's the legacy power he got from Geese and probably his mother's family side too (hinted in Garou, not confirmed yet). If you want more development, you will have to play Garou 2. The canonical SNK timeline is a completely different thing compared to the logic-less, weird, ageless KOF line.
So a kinda bad evolution since he doesn't do anything new. Sadly SNK in the 00s didn't care about evolving him. Well to begin with, he was barely used in other games, which is very strange given his popularity. Also for people unfamiliar with SNK, it used to be common that SNK fg devs evolve character's moveset. They work different than SF devs, who are attached to the SF tradition/nostalgia (and only changed recently). Even Chang or Chin have got more moveset evolutions through KOF than Ryu or Ken in 35+ years of SF. But SNK didn't want to work on Rock for some reason.
KOFXIV hizo muchas cosas mal, pero la verdad, su version PP del Shining knuckle me gusta mucho mas que la original. Que lástima que hayan vuelto a esa en KOFXV.
