Just an outstanding job. Setzer does not get enough credit. He's a damned powerhouse. I really, really appreciate the effort, Tom! I'm using this lesson and we're gigging the song.

There are just a COUPLE inaccuracies within the transcriptions of the tabs, specifically on 1:04 and the lick at 1:08. But I absolutely agree with everyone else, that this is the most straightforward, and no-nonsense tutorial/play-along on RU-vid. It doesn’t waste time over-explaining the parts bar by bar and what fret on which string your fingers gotta go. It’s concise and straight to the point, which is the best way most guitarists learn! Phenomenal Job on this video! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Hands down the best instruction video I have watched. Right to it, no talking for 10 minutes before the lesson, and the solo part straight on! Thank you thank you thank you!

Great lesson, only thing I need to point out is at the one minute mark, some of the fret 10 notes are written as fret 12 in the tab.

Excellent vid, thank you! One small correction, at 1:06, I believe you meant to denote an “A” note (“B” string, 10th fret) instead of the “B” note on the 12th fret as the tab shows. But nice video!

Hi Dandy ... good observation ... I found that 12 is actually correct , but play it at the 7th fret on 1st string ... there’s another guy on here with long dark hair & piercings in his nose that plays a pretty good version of the first solo.

At about 1:03, you are playing a E9 chord form over a where I think the rhythm chord is a G7. And there is no E in the progression. Why does that work?
@tomcon21
@tomcon21 9 месяцев назад
The chord is E7 there. G to E7
@timcaveny3047
@timcaveny3047 9 месяцев назад
Thank you for the response@@tomcon21 . It is hard for me to pick out the chords behind the solo in the recording. But I thought that the chord progression behind the solo was just a regular verse. I did not think there was an E in the progression. Also, the song is in the key of D major correct? Isn't E the II chord which would be a minor? Asking for a friend....... Thank you for posting this tutorial. It is spot on and a blast to play. Once I figure it all out. Im slowing your slow version by %75 and still struggling LOL!. You are a fantastic player!

I have been listening to this song since it came out in 1981, and have been playing it incorrectly all of these years. The chord progression does indeed go from the G to an E7. I have been playing a guitar for 45 years and I learn something new every day! That is why I love playing so much. Thank you for the awesome tab and tutorials!
