It really is beautiful. Very rough, but the colours are so vibrant. Most of those slices in the first small barrel are from Southland /Riverton.

Hey - I heard that using stainless strainers might scratch your rocks. Is that why you use plastic? I'm not sure if there is any truth in what I heard....

I did find many of similar stones at some beaches on South Coast of NSW. They look beautiful, but I don't know how to polish them.

@@CongTrading A rock tumbler is the best way to polish stones. It's a GF rest hobby too.

The other day I found a rock. I took it home and cut it open and to my suprise there was more rock inside.

@@garybrooks2730 20 ml bright shaft, bearings and pulleys from an engineering shop. Skf beating shop. They sell belts, bearings ,and pulleys. Hubby built it for me

@@garybrooks2730 we made the PVC drums. The pipe, union, cap,and lid came from Bunnings. They are quite good, but tricky to open. The rubber barrrls came from Rotorua lapidary

@@nicolagraynewzealandrockho8976 I have found one just like it, in the UK identical, it was the only one and nothing like all the other stones on the beach, it just stood out green amoung the grey pebbles

@@PA.1072 the green could be Epidote. It's a comon mineral around the world.

They really are beautiful, but I can't help but see petrified meat and organs! There's even fatty tissue! I have some red Jasper that look so much like pieces of meat. It has me thinking...
