Looks like it’s a solid connection. But, it’s not really a set it and forget it kind of rack. I’d be thinking about it falling off most of the time. Even though it’s unlikely to happen.
Good demo and review. I wish they had some straps with rubberized L shaped hooks to hook on the door frame for extra security. I would worry about temp changes affecting the suction. Have to wait for the long term review. I have some Rock Bros flat pedals with daggers for pins. I ride that bike on the street or to play around at the local skate park. Nice smooth rotation and my feet never slip off. They leave you battered on trails though. Have Crank Bros enduro and double shot pedals for that.
hello there. thank you for buying and testing out the suction bike rack. i have noticed that around 5:30 of your video, the suction cup on the right side you see the white line. Which means that it lost suction. was only holding on two. i am still scared to get it. but thank you for video. keep it up!! :)
I think you should connect your bike with some kinda safety rope to avoid falling on the road/highway. And yes your car and bike might be scratched if it disconnects but this will prevent accidents with other people.
I got the 2 bike version a few years back (and mostly just use it for one bike) as it was only about $15 more and my thinking was it would have better security, but to be honest I wish I hadn't bothered as they just don't move, rock solid.
i just ordered this for my 4 series bmw it looks so sleek on your car. I have a cheap bike and am new to mountain biking that trail at the end looks too crazy!! You were literally riding over boulders...
Cool video, I am stoked about the stability of the suction cups, just wish you could show us the different types of links to the fork though. Mine is a straight through axel.
I have it and yet to use it a year later lol. Ended up getting a hitch and a used Thule bike rack. Also are you not supposed to put them on glass? Also I still notice a white mark on the pump when you put the bike on. Did it bother you? Awesome video btw!
These are very funny about having a clean surface, if the surface is not very clean they will leak. Also you can pull the valve straight out to release air. I have the 3 bike system with 5 suction cups.
Mines did not even fit my bike forks it was too big and my forks too small. So i got a bike rack for nothing i could have just tossed my bike in the backseat
Interesting product, but no way I'm trusting it. Plus I hate roof racks, too easy to forget about your bike up there and do some massave damage to bike and car.
Sorry I can not trust these types of racks. Just so many things could go wrong. I'm not willing to strap my 6000.00 bike to suction cups. I'll stick to my thule.
