Yes, the first hybrid was created by a 25 year old Ferdinand Porsche and presented in 1900 at the Paris Motor Show. It did not go into production though as it was too far ahead of its time.

The Lohner-Porsche Mixte Hybrid was the first Hybrid, developed by Ferdinand Porsche in 1901. After this there were many developments in hybrid vehicles even compressed air hybrids were being developed in 1930's Germany. The application of hybrids only became realistic in the last few decades as modern technologies made it more practical and efficient. Even so Audi was probably the most active researcher in hybrid technology in the last 40 years and even Honda started before Toyota did...

yep, previous 918's seen in the other movies were prototypes. This one is confirmed, production model.

i love the Carrera GT reminiscent interior. as much this car is masterpiece, i miss the manual transmission days. Porsche is one of the few companies still fully devoted to making driver centered cars. i'm happy not everyone is copying the synthetic Nissan GTR.

Dear Porsche. You almost did what ever I dreamed of: The GT3 is fantastic, the Turbo (S) are kicking all other brands into oblivion. The Boxster and Cayman are aggressive as they are beautiful designed. And then comes the 918 which is beyond amazing! And you plan even an above 911 car, which makes life tough for Ferrari. Only one thing, you failed to do until now: get your cars into GT5 [or at least GT6]! Honestly it can't be, that you can drive any car, but a Porsche in Gran Tourismo!

I dont know exactly but its a Hybrid, he uses a (round a bout) 650 hp Diesel-Engine and a 210 hp electric-Engine.

4.6 liter V8 with an exhaust pipes inside of V shape. makes 608 horses
