What if I told you a mouse was designed by a youtuber? Probably just a cash grab, right? But what if I told you that RU-vidr built their channel on reviewing mice, has over 250 gaming mice in his house, 150 mouse reviews on the channel, and over 22 years' experience in first person shooters? Yeah, this isn't a cash grab. This is about taking mice to that next step. He started the Rocket Jump Ninja RU-vid Channel because he realized he aimed better with certain mice. And others did too. Mice have come a long way in that time. Performance is amazing. But there's still one thing that's being neglected. And when it comes to aim - shape is king. He's spent the last year testing his theories on design and his aim has never been better. So here it is. His experience. His Creation. The XTRFY MZ1 - ZY's Rail.
@@AZEOforreal who reviews mice like him? Nobody. Just compare it to the review in this video. There's obviously a massive difference. Rocket jump ninja is definitely more professional and technical in his reviews. You shouldn't make stupid generalization like the one you just made.
I saw RJN mention on another video that the weight distribution was made so it's most heavy where you actually grip the mice. Hence why it doesn't seem perfectly weight distributed.
when I first saw your videos I didn't really like them because, compared to other reviewers, you were way more harsh with the critiques, but then I realized that's what a good reviewer is supposed to do, and that you're just brutally honest, and for some reason in this review I noticed it more than the usual: you pointed out both the good and the bad of this mouse, explained when someone should buy this or not, and this felt...less unbiased compared to every other review of this mouse I've seen so far Keep going, love your vids :)
I had creaking on my model and I wish the sensor was a tiny bit more forward. I wish they had a bigger version as well. But I have loved using the MZ1 it’s so unique it’s kinda just fun to use
Totally a mouse addict... Think I am going to main the MZ1 to give a run for a few months. Have been enjoying the shape and want to give it a chance... Orochi V2 felt like a one night stand.
Didn’t last long, after 4 months I’m getting disconnections, maybe a loose wire, I have small hands and found I would get hand cramps after a good gaming session, so back to using my Zowie but it feels very slow now so ordered another g305 as the last one got launched across the room while playing days gone on hard mode 🤦♂️, has been the best mouse for my tiny lady hands so far.
Regarding the RGB and the weight, he was on reddit a few days ago and mentioned that there will be a version without RGB in the future, and it was kind of hinted that it was to be wireless as well ;)
does he really have you blocked? I'm curious where I get that nice white mouse pad. My main problem is no 450 dpi setting on the mouse. It is cool they have 400 but I'm so used to 450 dpi now after years and years of using it that I don't think I can go back.
The biggest thing I keep noticing is the empty space beneath my knuckles if I put the hump in my palm. The mouse's upper half is so low to the pad, even more than model o- and ul2.
The switch itself make only 50% of the noise and feel of the click, the actual build and tune of the button does the rest. Pretty cool. Theres many omron mice, and all of them click different.
i'll be curious to see what an rgb-less and wireless version of this mouse will come out price wise (seeing rjn comments on other reviews makes it seem like it'll happen if the mz1 is successful). I have smaller hands and this is probably the best shape i've ever used, to the point I am using it over the gpx superlight at the moment. the clicks are also as good as you mentioned in the review
Coming from a mouse enthusiast, I cannot recommend this mouse to anyone. I fingertip grip and I cannot find a consistent grip that's comfortable for this mouse. My Razer Orochi V2 is king for the time being.
i like ur style (no bullshit just real talk), i like rjn too but sometimes he sounds like he have no energy to talk and hard to understand what he sayin btw as ss sensei user with hands 17,5x9,1 what u think i should buy for upgrade? i feel like sensei is too big for me but i got used to it so... does logitech superlight feels bigger in hands than sensei or nah? cuz i think about sensei ten/ xm1r/ superlight/m42 Edit: im using i would say semi claw grip but its 20% palm idk not real claw
I have hands a few cm bigger than yours and i can easily use a razer viper mini, so you shouldn't be worried about mice being too small. I also used to use a big mouse.(zowie ec1-b) and honestly i feel like i have more control the viper mini, only been using it a couple days tho.
This is a fantastic mouse, I eventually got the XM1r by Endgame because I fancied a change and that mouse is also seriously good but I've heard Xtrfy have released a wireless version of the MZ1 which is insanely tempting lmfao
Considering I use fingertip with thinner hands than he does, seems to me like this mouse is perfect to me, but agreed wired is unacceptable for 80 bucks, so I'll wait for a wireless and try it out, definitely an upgrade from my wired 2 dollar CCP-manufactured chinamouse.
what if some gaming product company invites you to design your own mouse shape like Rocketjump? It would be a legendary mouse. can't wait for that day XD
@boardzy you're using a palm claw (hybrid grip) claw, and tip are the same grip within a spectrum, but the palm is not touching ever. The Mouse is narrow because it's designed to have more grip width which helps play into your wrist range of motion, and having a more pencil like direction with the sensor. The mouse buttons dip so that you can have a low center of gravity enabling your fingers to click more effectively, You'd be better off using a cooler master mm710 for your grip style, but that mouse is incredible for tip claw. Top 2 pct in hero shooters Hitscan, and direct damage DPS main in OW, and Paladins. Top 0.4 percent player in Apex, mid-tier sponsored playered in valorant (formerly) Rifler, and IGL.
Hey Boardzy when are you going to review the Hayate Kou? I'm illiterate and accidentally bought it instead of the Hayate Otsu. I do really like it though.
@@donZeriouS aches did go away but I still could not find a consistent grip. The holes on the top right irritate my ring finger and I think my hands are just too big. Actually went on a limb and got the deathadder v2 on sale and I high scored on spidershot in aim labs on my 3rd try 🤦♂️
@@manslaughter9746 uh, sucks to hear that! I've had similar problems with other mouse, people praised, by it just wasn't pleasant to use. Glad to hear you found an alternative! I'll try the mz1 soon anyway, maybe I'm lucky - although my xm1r feels very good for me :)
@@manslaughter9746 So I tried it, and I can somehow hold it very firmly, more secure compared to the xm1r. But the coating is not as good, that means, with the mz1 I do sweat a bit more? Kinda hard to explain, also the holes... and rgb.. are not my taste ._. I'm still going back and forth between both mice, but still prefer the xm1r
my problem with this mouse is the hardness of the clicks, my finger hurt after 20min of playing fps games. god forbid you play click games like minecraft or starcraft. it could also be a bit lower lengthwise and the humb should be lower
Having no software is fine, but if you go that route there needs to be a better range of dpi adjustments available on the mouse. I play at 500dpi and I can’t use this mouse because it skips from 400dpi to 800dpi then up from there. It should have been adjustable in steps of 50 or 100dpi and top out at around 1200dpi. I have 7 other mice that can all be set to 500dpi, this was a big oversight imo. Hopefully there will be a firmware update allowing more dpi adjustment options in the low range, until then it will be sitting on the sideline for me.
I got this yesterday and I fucking hate it with a passion. I have 21x11 cm hands and it forces my hand into a weird ass grip and I cannot grip it, just returned it a few hours ago and I'm gonna just go back to my superlight because everything else is obsolete.
