Major Nelson joins Robin Beanland of Rare for a pirate jam session on the Sea of Thieves' pirate orchestra, traditional instruments, and musical possibilities.
The thing that i love about MS first party games its that they always do this behind the music for the games, as i musician its fascinating and i love it
Killing Stars overreaction won't work, he's a genius, if the stretched sound doesn't work he tries another one or composes his own sound, and there are musicians in the studio he doesn't do everything on his own
Unless you want a fancy one and then it'll set you back 5000 euro or more. Check out Patty's new one. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jgXmxQQW5F4.html 18-string, capos, built in amps
Sea of thieves has so much soul in its music i love when my crew is on a long voyage and someone just starts playing to break the silence and everyone joins in and plays the song all the way through without a word and then go back to business its no less than enchanting thank you for your hard work robin
That's so sad. There are ssoooo many interesting instruments all over the world that people have never heard of anymore nowadays when people think of music you picture the same seven instruments but there are so many that make such unique noises
"Herdy-Gurdy" sounds like some kind of very British slang. "I was walkin' daun th' streets 'o' Landon, when this 'ere wanka', 'e pulls awut a herdy-gerdy 'e does! Bloody near took me 'ead clean off 'e did!"
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the musical scores that are within the game, very impressed by how authentic it sounds and how it makes playing the game feel. It's delightful to see how it was all achieved. I really do appreciate the time and effort that has been taken... Thank you!
I can say there is nothing more beautiful than when you find that slow song, and play it in sync with the ghost band in the pirate legend hideout😊managed to pull that off and then our fleet of 8-9 others all joined in and it was amazing.
I absolutely love this! I would expect nothing less from the company that created the amazing soundtrack of Banjo-Kazooie. The music is my absolute favorite part of Sea of Thieves, and this man has done a fantastic job of not only using great songs, but song that fit so well in the game’s atmosphere. Great job!
Best part of the game, honestly. I was so surprised and found honest joy in using my instrument in accompaniment with another person. Really fantastic. Can't say the same about the content of the game otherwise, but still nice.
Yoo, when I heard that waterphone, it instantly reminded me of Jet Force Gemini's intro! Robin, we need that game back and your music was amazing in it!!
This is so great. Robin is an absolute master and one of the best game composers out there. So glad to see him still working with Rare on a regular basis.
Interesting enough. Yes the Hurdy Gurdy was played durring the Pirate age it was made possibly durring the Medieval age or even before that. So that inatrument has made a long journey without evolving into something better than that which is interesting because when you look at piano there is also the keyboard and other types of pianos. Hurdy Gurdy is not crazy in numbers of variations.
the hurdy gurdy actually originated in France during the 14th century if i remember correctly ! towards the end of the middle ages, perfectly timed to get some good pirate tunes :)
Needs way more content, but overall a nice game with missed opportunity that can be turned around into it's full potential! I love this game, played it the first day and it still felt like the beta to me. I loved the beta but it wasn't enough for a full game.
6:50 that's something RARE always nailed down perfectly in their games . David Wise did it Grant Kirkhope did it and now Robin also did it. Well done !
Ever since hearing his work on the Conker's BFD/L&R soundtrack I've considered Robin to be an absolute legend. My dream job would be to work with him somehow.
honestly i use the hurdy gurdy in Sea of Thieves all the time! fav instrument thanks to the game and i hope someday i'll have enough money to get my own and learn these songs for fun!
