My name is Lynn Ledbetter, I was so fortunate to meet Phil Ehart father Howard, He was a patient at Balboa Hospital in San Diego that I had the honor of working on. I noticed his last name right off. I ask him if he was related to Phil HE said Oh you know my son. I told him no but I have followed his music since the beginning. He was really proud of Phil but I didn't think he realized just how unreal this band was. What a super guy He got me tickets and back stage passes. Phil if you read this let me say this your father was a class A man you should be so proud. It's 2017 I hope he's still alive.
These guys are so incredibly talented! They are my favorite Band! Steve Walsh is my idol! Steve Morse is one of the top 5 Rock n Roll Guitarist of all time! Phil Ehart ...I just cant say enough except he epiomizes this group humble outtake and says non of us are clssically trained , we just fake the classical sound well!
I bought this cd when it first came out. Had just turned 16 years old and was recently blown away by Leftoverture and Point of Know Return for first time as well. Top of all that, had just finished reading a book called No one here gets out alive. I started trying to write song lyrics. I like them, they were pretty terrible with no real life experiences. I wrote nearly every single day for 3 years. This still continues today in huge creative bursts at times. Might have 750 short lyrical stories now and haven’t shared much of it with anyone. Thing is Kansas was and still is a massive influence. I saw them February 1989. Steve Walsh doing hand stands on his key board while playing is an incredible memory. I used to listen to Rockline on 96 Rock in Atlanta and probably heard this but I don’t remember doing so. Thank you very much to all involved here.
