...and also eagles, owls, hawks, ...my friend lost her beagle that way :( You already know of the dangers ❤️❤️❤️❤️ you're a good Daddy !!! Omg she's soooooo cute.
100% agree. I’m on my second wire Fox Terrier and these guys are the best. He will actually climb mountains with you while at the same time arguing with you over toys. That is the way of this terrier my friend. She will be very loyal and loving. But also very feisty. You need to show her you are the boss. Or she will make herself the boss. Much happiness to you and Rocco! ♥️🥰🐶
I don't care how many times I see it, Rocko's head poking out of your backpack is one of the cutest things I've ever seen. It's like she's just totally chill with trust in you.
Simon you don't owe anybody anything bud. Take some rest time. Videos of you and that crazy dog lol are fine. Cooking food. Relaxin. Don't burn yourself out. We need you healthy. She's a riot. We love you FF ❤....
Definite change for the better taking time off & bringing Rocko into Forrest's world. Forrest looks & sounds so much more at peace, relaxed, happy and looks 10+ years younger.
Hello. Congrats on your sweet pup. She's beautiful. I would like to offer a kind suggestion. As someone who has over 20 years of owning JRT's ( Our current 4 y.o. Male is a JRT/ Shiba Inu mix), I would suggest that you start training little Rocko not to chase your broom, beg for food, etc now. It's cute when they're a pup, but whatever behaviors you allow now you will be dealing with still in 10 years or working hard to undo. We learned over time that the earlier you train for behaviors you want, (as well as discourage behaviors you will not appreciate in the future), the better it is for you and the pup. Enjoy your new family member!
Great advice have had dogs for 60 years and yes the sooner yo create proper behaviour the better, but in this video it was strictly entertainment value hahahahah
YESSSSSS I agree! Please look some youtube on training a service animal (puppy) they have great ideas and start them quite young! Yer a great dad Forest! And its good to see you again!! We've missed you!
And that's why I don't "baby talk" my dogs. They're not surrogate or "fur" children. They're canine companions and I treat them with respect. Treat your puppy with respect and the adult dog will respect you.
She's grown so much already. I love how having her, is making you think about how far you can walk and then thinking about your own health needs - Rocco is so good for you. Sad to see her find plastic (or was it glass) rubbish in such a beautiful place.
Ward of advice watch for hawks that could swoop down and grab the baby and she'd be gone before u could stop it from happening. Or coyotes could grab her i love seeing Rocco and the smile on your face in your videos so please be mindful thanks for all your videos
Right on Rocko's safety. Oh, she is so adorable! My sister took my son's chihuahua for us (I could only have my dog-his sister- where I moved to) and she lived out in the country and would let him run :'( Sure enough, he got attacked by something and was in the VET ER for a few days. There are special vests with spikes on them for small dogs to wear to prevent wild animal attacks on them. And, always use a harness please on her, as you sure don't want to ever have to pull her up to safety by her neck.
You seem so much happier ever since Rocko came on the scene. Your gentleness with her is loving. I love how you are so concerned about her well-being that your life now revolves around her and doing what is best for her. You are going to have so many years of adventure with her and I can't wait to see it
So right....I have a lot of eagles around and they glide silently to pick up a wee animal. Fortunately the seagulls warned me and I had a few minutes to react and pick up my little pup.
Definitely true! Just thought of an interesting idea though, wonder if they have dog jackets that could tear away (like safety gear with velcro) if pulled too hard? Could possibly save small dogs if a bird of prey attempts to scoop it up, only to rip the coat off. Could at least buy some time
Rocko will teach you ..patience, responsibility, problem solving, and pure unconditional love! She is definitley going to change your life..in a good way!!
I'm a new Foresty Forest subscriber so watching vids that are a year old is a delight. Especially when meeting Rocko and seeing the beautiful drone footage. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous world for others.
@@Mortizul lol. It's still a baby. Pets will always be babies. My 5 year old cats are still my babies. I doubt my kids or even great grandkids would like me to call them my babies. Have a good day!
Our dog is a valued member of our family and treated as such. She is 17 years old now and believes she is part of our family, and rightfully so. She has brought us great joy.
That's what I was thinking. The Rocko Show, starring Rocko the Wonder Pup. With appearances by.... um... hmmmm..... I'll remember his name. ... 😄😁💞💓 Season 1, Episode 2.
And if she is Rocko then Foresty might have to be Heffer Wolfe!! Haha. Great dog and great reference to a good old PG-13 cartoon!! “Rockoooo’s modern liiiife”
Rocko is a Goliath of cuteness. Adorable. So cool to see her learning the systems: the kennel, the backpack. You’re a good Dog Dad Foresty. What a dog life she is having! Also pretty cool to see you chilling out a little on the missions - adapting them for Rocko and also for your own health and energy level. You push pretty hard it seems to me. Thanks for the beautiful sunset!
OMG! The cute factor on your channel recently increased *exponentially.* There’s nothing I’ve seen suggested by the RU-vid algorithms that comes anywhere near to being as cute as seeing Rocko’s head sticking out of your backpack while you hike up a slope. Way to go, Foresty Forest + Rocko! ❤️
Rocko is looking excellent, it's hilarious how she viciously attacks your little broom stick, our little Jack Russell loved to bite and attack our vacuum hose, I guess it's in their blood lol
Oh my goodness, Rocko has stolen the show! I always enjoy your videos, but the addition of your new little buddy is really wonderful. I'm so happy for you and Rocko. That is one precious furbaby.
I had a dog just like yours, but they told me it’s a “Brazilian terrier” loved her so much, I got her I was 12, she died a few weeks before I marry my wife when I was 23… I’m pretty sure I gave her the best life she could have had! Take care of her Simon, you will be her entire life and she will be just a tiny part of yours
FF- consider getting one of those seatbelt harnesses so when you’re driving if in a MVA- at least she won’t go flying through the windshield. I have two pups and both wear one when we’re driving.
Good to see you are having fun with Rocko. I imagine it is a tad less lonely with her around. Having a pet to take care of and share time with is a mental boost in so many ways.
She is such a cute puppy, and I definitely think it's time to start some "leave it" training. it's cute when she's a pup but once she's fully grown it won't be so cute her attacking the broom, animal poop, random other things on the ground etc. How my family did it with our dog was to use a treat, set it in front of the dog and tell him to leave it with our hand covering it, soon as he looked away from the treat that's when he got the treat in our other hand, basically it's training the dog to ignore whatever is interesting to them and getting a reward that's not what was interesting to him (because generally whatever we're telling the dog to leave alone is something we wouldn't want the dog eating or focusing on) gradually we could tell him to leave a treat on the ground completely uncovered and he wouldn't touch it. The key is to start the training young. Eventually we could just be out somewhere, he'd see something interesting, we'd say "leave it" and the most he would do is sniff it then walk away. Just a thought. 😊
I agree that "leave it" is one of the most important things a dog should learn when they're young, as well as having good recall. There are different ways to train it, but positive reinforcement is still the most important part whether treats are involved or not. :) Jack Russells are so smart! I think with talking to her constantly and using consistent commands like "leave it," "no chew," "Rocko come," "stay," and "quiet," she'll pick things up soooo quickly as long as there's a really enthusiastic "good girl" attached to the end each and every time she gets it right. And yeah, sometimes a treat too. Lol. I love how attached to you she already is! Freakin cute.
I may be wrong but she could get sick from eating animal poop. I know for sure leptospirosis is caused by drinking contaminated water or licking area where there is urine from an animal with the bacteria. Love ❤️ Rocko!
That sweet little baby has really added a delightful element to your wonderful videos! I love her reaction whenever you try to sweep out the van--hilarious! Wishing you both good health and good times!
Rocko got to be one of the most happy dogs in the world. So nice to see him as a puppy as well. Really nice to follow your adventures. I am not a big fan of van life, but your way is good. I am a bicyclist my self, lived some years in a sailboat, and my goal is to get another sailboat to live in as soon as possible. But I got to say, your way, in your van with Rocko, and the mountains, it is sweet as well. Away from the crowd and all the noise.
Rocko is such a cutie pie. Great addition to the adventure. So much energy for a little one is very enjoyable and entertaining to watch. Thanks for sharing
Rocko is beautiful. What a cutie :). Please keep her on a leash while you're hiking. We had a wee dog that was almost taken by a hawk while we were out camping. We didn't have the dog on a leash and he was just following me around and allof a sudden, whoosh. Down comes a hawk after my dog. I saw it coming, grabbed a stick and home runned him into some brush. LOL. Little dogs are so vulnerable . Sorry for preaching but better for Rocko to be safe rather than you being sorry.
Such a cute pup. I worry about the van interior temps going up as you head into summer. You might have to engineer something to address that or just start wearing Rocko in a papoose when you go into stores.
I live in my SUV a number of months a year for business travel. The temps are hard in the summer as you can’t leave a dog alone at all… and it can still be quite warm during the day. I find I have to go to the gym before sunrise (workout abs or shower) and grocery too off 15 mins for the late night stores close. I use a soft crate for my corgi and basically just bring it outside under the awning a lot during the day which she will often do.
So she is clearly a good trail dog. Does not run off like some other dogs on the trails. I hear stories of certain kinds of dogs who run ahead, come across a bear, run back to their human, meanwhile the bear is in tow. The dog just needs to run faster than you to escape the bear, I suppose.
That dog is just about the cutest baby creature I have ever seen! She is a beauty and overall very well behaved and staying near to you. What a great companion for you, Simon. Congrats and safe travels as always!
Looks like you and the pup are getting along real well glad to see you have a companion I know it gets lonely out there by yourself she's going to do well
Simon, I'm so proud of you for getting yourself a little buddy and expanding your horizons. Rocko is adorable she just loves you to pieces ❤. I haven't checked in on your site for a while but your new relationship with your new little girl adds a whole new dimension to your blogs.
