You can remove the 2.5mm spacer to go full 55mm stroke on these shocks. Most 27.5 tires will clear no problem. This is a great mod to pair with the 160mm front upgrade by removing the spacer in the fork.
@kevanray @kevanray Could you point out the spacer in the video? Or by spacer do you mean the bottomless tokens? Have some people interested in your knowledge, including myself. Thanks- also just subscribed to your channel.
@@mikemtbs it’s never touched in this video. It’s in the top section and generally sits under the volume spacers. It may be the blue piece seen in the top part. I’ve seen a bunch of different colors/styles in my research. You can always confirm with a set of calipers though. Volume spacers will generally slide in/out from the side. Mine were orange. The 2.5mm spacer has to come out the hard way with full disassembly/reassembly.
How to assist how to maintenance this rear shock: take it into a rubbish bin and replace with a decent model. I have this one on a cannondale habit, i found it really shameful under any point of view.
Didn't see which video you were talking about, the kit you can get thru your local bike shop. The 35 gold link is above in my comment. The deluxe select kit I got from a local bike shop. You can also call worldwide cyclery and they can help you pinpoint the right kit for you. Hope this helps
