Hi. I took a photo of the grey bike with original shock at the beginning of your end of the year edit video and compared it to your bike at the end of this video. The domain seems to have lengthened the fork a lot. Is that okay? I think adding a longer fork will decrease the head tube angle but also raise the front of the bike. Just curious as to how it changed the handling, if at all. I am planning on upgrading my shock but know nothing about sizing. Thx. 👍
@SimplePleasuresMTB
@SimplePleasuresMTB 2 года назад
Yes, this is a good thing! It actually increased the fork angle. (Good thing) better for downhill. I actually just received a 29” wheel that will make it even more “slack”. This what you want on a modern mountain bike. The slacker geometry and 29” wheel will make it perform better in the downhill, “monster trucking” over all obstacles
@iasha740
@iasha740 Год назад
what was wrong with that yari? I mean they share the same air spring (debon air) and the same damper (motion control) and same travel options (150-180), so they should be pretty similar, with the domain being heavier. Did you notice any improvement in stiffness?
@SimplePleasuresMTB
@SimplePleasuresMTB Год назад
Yes, the main reason was the stiffness. While hard braking going down steep descents, I could see the Yari flex and it would also create a chattery feedback I could feel in the bars. The head angle is also steep being 67 degrees so that didn’t help. With the Domain all that went away.

What’s that blue syringe grease or oil you’re using on the cap thread. And I have some mineral oil reservoir on the right stock shock, going from the left break? What’s that needed for. There’s 2 wires going to the stock shock, the break line and the one to a mineral oil above the right shock fork
@rsxhitman
@rsxhitman 2 года назад
Never mind the shock thing is some remote locking. Haven’t unboxed it fully yet
@SimplePleasuresMTB

Blue Loctite for the cap. I use it on almost everything I remove, put a little drop and it prevents things from vibrating loose

@@SimplePleasuresMTB my front fork came in severely damaged.. the tube is cracked in half. I put in a support ticket. The bottom ball bearing ring is also broken with one ball missing. Are they gonna send the ball bearing bearings too for the fork replacement? Or where can I get bearings to replace the bottom one specifically (top one with the stem seems fine since that whole half of the tube came off together). Can I send you pics

@SimplePleasuresMTB
@SimplePleasuresMTB Год назад
Go with the Domain, it’s been flawless, I added 2 tokens (came with 3) it has 38mm stanctions (The Rockshox RL has 35mm) the Domain is stiffer/no noticeable flex for the heavier e-bikes. That’s just my opinion. I love it, does everything I need it to do

Ahhh I think the Sondors LX or Cruiser model would be more your cup of tea. Honestly this is more of a “trail bike/all mountain” type of bike (when properly equipped) and it does weigh north of 80 lbs so…give those other bikes a look maybe @ www.Sondors.com they also have a very nice selection of folding bikes, or the full size MXS model sounds like something you might be interested in. Can I install a 180mm rotor even tho it says that the minimum size is 200mm?
@SimplePleasuresMTB
@SimplePleasuresMTB Год назад
No because the post dictates where the caliper sits and the 180 would be too small of a diameter

Do your front calipers brake pads grip the front rotor completely because mine don't.
@SimplePleasuresMTB

Yes, are yours not biting enough or too much? You can add or take away thin washers sometimes, if that doesn’t work take it to a bike shop to have them line it up correctly.

Thanks for subscribing. I sold this bike but my new bike has the 2023 Domain in 160mm travel. For the price and beefy build it’s good. My new ones I feel are a little more harsh maybe because it’s a lighter weight bike? But I’ve been adding/removing tokens and messing with rebound/psi settings. All in all it’s great especially for an E-bike with its 38mm stanctions.

Not yet, not that they’ve shown me personally, I do get people asking me what is that bike? And they honestly seem to like it or want to know all about it. Had one guy asking about the class of the bike 1,2 or 3. We told him well that depends on what setting you run on. We run in class 1😉
