You've really gotten better over the years. I was listening to several of your videos and during the solo on this one I was wondering if the playlist had switched to someone else because it didn't sound perfect. Then I saw that this video over 3 years old. It's inspiring to see the progress of your ability over the years.
This is how I play guitar now ever since my real tone cable mysteriously quit working, hope to see many more videos of this exuberant nature, spectacular fretting as always Riff Repeater, or should I say thenewnoelisoncruz. :D
No he didn't learn guitar through rocksmith ( Although it did improve his guitar playing, but that's just my opinion). If you watch his," What the faq", video, it says that he has been learning guitar for half his life. I'm personally learning guitar through this game, the problem with the game is that it can't really fix your habits, but it will improve your playing greatly, I can now play sixteen saltines at 90% easily but couldn't two weeks ago.
holy mother of god, this is so awesome!! i watch this video almost every day ATLEAST once, i cant wait til i get this game myself!! this is my first goal.. muse sure is amazing
Andy garcia Well lots of other life things have gotten in the way and my recording methods for posting videos weren't working. However I did manage to practice for almost 3 weeks straight and I was surprised at how much i progressed. Its definitely worth it.
Such a fun song im not gonna lie, while waiting for my usb guitar link these videos do really help if you want to play along and shit. 2 days of experience yet i feel so badass when i hit those tremolos on the first string
good job on the song, I've yet to see anybody play that bridge perfectly but you do a real good job with it. Keep working on your techniques and keep up the good work
Armando Ruvalcaba trust me when I was first learning bar chords I hated them and decided not to do anything with them. Eventually I tried learning plug in baby and now they feel like some of the easiest chords to play, mainly the E shaped ones that plug in baby has.
Ive been playing guitar for 4 years and this song seems really easy to play but it looks kind of hard to follow up with whats on screen. Ive been wanting to buy this game though haha
what I always do is first put the riffs in practice mode at a low speed and play it a bunch of times until I memorize the tabs and then I speed it up a little bit until I can play it at full speed, then I go out of practice mode and play the full song. I fully recommend that game, it has helped me improve my skills and my song repertoire. there's a similar game for Android and ios called Yousician
Well played man. I just started playing RS2014 and I'm back in love with playing my guitar. I can testify that you can learn to play better, much better than anticipated. I put 5 hours straight into RU Mine yesterday (day 2 of having the game), and I went from knowing nothing about that song and sucking at it, to 100% difficulty at 75% speed and 93% mastery. Like that Gretsch you have.
I remember those parts where you were just (it looks like anyway) vibrating the string, on GHIII you were strumming up and down furiously. I remember well, the Synth part, where the was no playing by you at all, is where I'd fail on Expert. The fun memories...
Yeah I got here from guitar hero as well, truth is, he is picking, which is kinda like strumming so the chart was pretty accurate on guitar hero, at least as far as you can get with 5 buttons. I'm nowhere near as good as this guy, but playing this song after guitar hero feels awesome :P
During the Tremolo, it looks like he's just vibrating the string instead of strumming. I really want to pick up this game, but I don't have a guitar ( a real one), nor do I have a PS3/X360 or a good enough PC, and however much it costs for the game (I'd guess about $200).
Yeah I get what you mean, but I believe it's picking, which is just really fast strumming with barely any extra movement. Vibrating the string wouldn't really make any sound at all if I'm right. I don't have the game either, just happen to play it a bit at someone else's house, they got the game for less than a $100 on a sale though.
I actually don't know a whole lot about all the different tones, other than distortion (chugging), and clean. And I can't really see what he's doing all too well. And...I don't even have $5 to my name.
this video convinced me on getting the game xD thanks! ive always wanted to learn guitar but never really caught on to it but i feel this will help me a ton
It is because he holds his pick in a certain way that I cannot see him picking the string during the tremolo notes. Also, it is the same color as the body of his guitar. Reason found. I see him picking now. Of course, I had to watch the Knights of Cydonia music video (didn't know there was one in existence until recently) to figure this out.
does the program take care of effects? like at 1:58 - where it changes from distorted to a cleaner tone. so no peddles or button pressing required? and more importantly - does program the right tone and effects pre-loaded for each song? if so im buying rite now.
Yes, it automatically switches to the tone and you can program your own (up to 4) and switch to them using your controller or keyboard. amzn.to/2cJ4vgs
This cable can also be used for Guitar Rig 5 and Amplitube 3. If you check my latest guitar covers they are simply using a rocksmith cable to the computer and then through the above mentioned software, no fancy interfaces or mixers required!
I just got RS2014 and I'm on day 3. I couldn't be happier with the game or my guitar (Les Paul Epihone Special II). The most difficult part for me thus far is finding a comfortable position to navigate the frets, and see all six strings. And...my finger tips hurt lol!
Defenetly, its a great game and when you start playing this song its wery easy, one note at the time, and then it gets harder the better progress you make
FiscoDiaz I strum upwards during that part, but if it is the notes you're not getting right then try doing the riff repeater in the game and slow it down
Riff Repeater Don't listen to him man, play the guitar how your comfortable and whatevers more fun. Music should be about encouraging others, not fucking beating them down because of little things like that. By the way, good run, used to love playing this song on RS14 until I sold it due to the freezing issues!
Glenn M I agree With you Glenn, I play Rocksmith2014 to enjoy playing and learning songs. Once a week i play with my brother he plays base while i switch from rhythm and lead so we can at least have verity of songs to play together.
That's the way to be dude. Theres too many guitar "perfectionists" out there yet they play rhythm and suddenly sound like crap! They seem to forget the reason they play the instruments in the first place! Really hate that, I'd rather see someone (in this example) play a nice sounding vibrato with their finger joints, rather than an off-tone flat vibrato because they are forcibly using their wrist.
+Riff Repeater You are really talented I am trying to keep up with your vids you need to keep making them I am trying to learn to play just started about 4 weeks ago on rocksmith
@tha Joda: I'm pretty sure he did not forward anything. At that part of the song you really have to go like crazy with your fingers to keep with the pace.
