ROCKSTAR ARE DUPLICATING The Chop Shop DLC Cars 

every other game that doesn't have licencing makes the cars exactly the same car but a fake name and they get away with it, so I don't why Rockstar used to make their cars look like Chinese knockoffs, cool to see that they are building the cars almost exactly the same as the real life counterparts

GTA cars are getting closer and closer to real life cars, back then they used to merge two or three cars together to make one for the game, up until 2019-2020 where they started making them a bit closer to real life, and now with this DLC as well as the the last two ones, we got vehicles that looks like exact copies with different small parts to make them lore friendly and to avoid copyright issues This makes me so hyped to see GTA VI vehicles

I've noticed that rockstar tends to make more drastic changes to the ferarri's in game, and they make other cars more similar. I'm pretty sure it's because ferarri hands out cease and desists like candy

Copyright laws on cars have changed over the past few years, I think that’s the reason why R* makes less changes, and the most important part to remove the real brand to avoid lawsuits. it also wouldn’t even surprise me if R* downloading car mods and just make a few changes to the cars to save time.

Imagine an aftermarket company playing gtav and decides to make all the different bumpers, lights, and kits with the gta car brands on them

GTA cars now are less fancy, but more realistic looking, i think that’s fair ngl, but i still loved the idea of Rockstar Games mixing irl cars tbh

The hellfire desperatly needs a engine sound upgrade in the long awaited hsw upgrade

I like the era of the Osiris and T20, where the cars don't resemble any car exactly but they are pretty beautiful, there's more effort and creativity put back then which I enjoyed

You can tell the devs that make these vehicles have been putting a lot of effort into getting as close as they can without violating copyright laws

I’ve already said, I feel like Rockstar is taking HEAVY influence from the modding community and FiveM to consider what people actually like (except the Durango). It’s like someone had the bright idea to take the exact car models from 5mods, redesign/ugly them up just a little bit and put the copy and paste interior, wheels and engine detail into them so that it’s looks like a regular GTA car and have customizations that make it look closer to the real car.. and the customizations are probably parts they removed off the real model in Zmodeler or whatever software they use to make vehicles

I prefer R* maintaining it's ability to make it's own version rather than fixating on copying cars perfectly. This isn't Forza and it allows them to add their own spin/customization options. I also like the unique names and funny parodies in the descriptions

I’ve had a G35 for almost 6 years now and you don’t know how hyped I was to see the FR36. It’s crazy because even the way the sunlight reflects off the body line near the headlight/grille on the bumper is exactly how it does in real life. The projector headlights on the FR36 are also almost identical to the 05+ G35 coupe, the one you showed was a non-hid 03-04 model.

Rockstar lost all their creativity, they don't even give original names for the cars anymore, always are names from cars that already are in the game with 2 or 3 letters in the end, now not even the designs are original, like it always had been since GTA 1 maybe

12:50 Rockstar is definitely working on the interiors if you look at the Tulip that was in the GTA VI trailer (precisely at the 1 minute mark) it has a much more detailed interior compared to the one in GTA V.

As long as they make it close, but not too close, its good to go. Also....Legal has to clear it to avoid lawsuits.

The front end of the GTA Durango is closer to the front end of the Chrysler Aspen, which was the upperscale twin to the Durango.

They screwed up the back wheels on the Dominator GT and I don't know why they don't allow you to adjust the axle or even wheel sizes in LA customs. Every wheel I put on the Dominator GT looks too small and the axle looks like it is set forward too much.

if i remember right the law states that there only needs to be a 15% difference between the real thing and whats in game for it to not be suable basically. so as long as 15% or more on the car is different from the real life car then rockstar is perfectly safe and has nothing to worry about.

A video with an interesting idea, and the developer began to add models that are partially or minimally different from the real ones even when an update called Import and Export was released, then it became obvious that in the future models almost copies of the real ones would be added, from then to this day they are adding different models but the quality of the details is getting better and better every time. And now you can understand how detailed the transport models will be in the next part of GTA

I mean when you watch certain commercials and shows they just block out the badges on the cars to avoid copyright and nothing else so it makes sense for rockstar to do this

This makes me wonder if with GTA 6 will Rockstar do this with every car in that game? Because I've been a fan of the more recent car models that resemble the irl car compared to how they used to combine bits and pieces of other cars. Definitely more work on their end but that'd be so cool to see an almost real life looking fleet of vehicles in the next GTA.

My guess for the a bit older cars is that they use a lot of the models from the midnight club games, refurbish them a bit and edit them to fit for gta, might be totally wrong tho. I´m only guessing.

I think these cars are in gta 6 they just threw some into gta 5 because they are focusing on gta 6 more. Thats why the cars are similar to real life because gta 6 will have things that are more realistic.

On the durango, the bump in the roof is to give back passengers more head room (I have a 01 durango)

I noticed this with the Camry. I had one IRL and I’m very familiar with the body lines and subtle details from the car. The Karin Asterope GZ is 100% just a model of the Camry that was altered for the game.

I don’t understand why everyone wants real cars in gta. I think the fake brands and all the little details that rockstar thinks of when making these games make gta so cool. I would even say real brands in a gta game would make it boring.

They are taking real life models and tweaking them a bit to avoid copyright and trademark issues, they’ve been doing this for years

its cause they realized that people are willing to pay up for cars they like IRL.. also more cars to pump out without merging 2-3 separate ones.

It really Obvious of how rockstar has avoided copyrights and the parody law. I like how on the Ferrari they made a less obvious copy because of how strict Ferrari is. Also the Jeep with the grille if they would have put the vertical lines it’d no longer be a parody

Rockstar hired ppl from GTA rp to work on GTA 6 so it makes sense if they are using mods to implement cars

R* began cloning cars around the Nightclub DLC. i think this is also where they began putting more time into GTA6. so from then on, i assume they have back ported as many cars as they could and probably will continue until the very end of GTA5 Online.

There's a modern Impala seen in the VI leaks that is also VERY close to it's real life counterpart, it's insane. Also, have no doubt, most of these newer DLC vehicles are backported from GTA 6 for sure. We will most likely see most, if not all of these with higher quality models and proper interiors in GTA VI. This goes way back at least a few years, too.

Idk why, but i have the feeling the newer cars are going to be the same models that are going to be in GTA 6. They look realistic and the only mayor things that need to be changed are the engines, interiors, etc. But the look of them are quite littely a copy of the irl versions

The reason for the GTA versions being sharper has to do with reduced polygons. What is the point of having a perfect copy with 2 million polygons that makes the game run at 10 fps when with a little work you can have one that is 200,000 slightly sharper edges and doesn't affect game play.

The 96 impala was in midnight club la for the ps3 and rockstar owned that too I don't think they're using mods They have a catalog of Car games with their name written all over it.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that overtime since 2013 the gta 5 cars and gta online cars are being modeled to be more like their real life counterparts than fake cars- (possibly being taken from gta 6?) which I have mixed feelings about On one hand, they’re almost satisfying the people who always ask for real life cars and its gonna look even more realistic in the 2025 build of gta 6 And on the other hand i feel as though it kinda removes the charm of the fake cars the used to base off the real life counterparts. I’ve only noticed this when i saw the cannis terminus, looking like a real life jeep and somehow getting away with it. But I’m positive about it as I love seeing their progression.

i think the dorado is more based on the Chrysler Aspen than the durango, or at the very least its an amalgamation of both.

it's very simple how they get away with it is with the lights, not just the shape of them but also at night the bulbs are not the same compared to the real lifecounterpart, very vey smart from R*

im glad gta cars are getting closer to irl cars ive never liked how in the earlier gta titles (iv for example) every car would be an amalgamation of like 6 different cars with clashing styling cues that end up being ugly as fuck to look at with the proportions being off

Back in the day car companies didnt want to be represented in games because of crash damage and making thier cars look fragile, or different to how they had made them. But in gta it's because they don't want their cars represented just by running people over at 90mph into a bloody mess and being used while taking cop chases and other illegal activities.

These cars are most likely back ported from GTA 6, that would explain why they are so detailed.
