I have seen SOME black people who keep talking on IG about lisa is blackfishing just because she tan her skin. Now I want you guys to read this carefully and try to understand. 1. Not only lisa there a LOT of people in the world who tan their skin especially white people and also other people from different parts of the world. There also people who have tan skin but wanted to have a treatment to get fair skin. To me, this is not a huge problem as long as you didn't disrespect anybody or race. 2. Have you guys ever heard about light brown skin? Have you guys heard about Southeast Asian countries perhaps? You have to understand one thing Black people are not the only ones who have dark or tan skin. You have to know there are other parts in the world that do have tan or dark skin that maybe you could've mistaken them as black people. In Southeast Asian countries we DON'T have 4 seasons thing autumn, winter and whatsoever like in Western countries or East Asian countries like Japan and Korea. Listen very carefully guys we talk about Southeast Asian countries here NOT East Asian. East Asian people do have pale or white or bright skin like you have seen on TV(There are also EA people who have tan skin or get their skin tan actually). Now Southeast Asian WE do have light brown, tan and dark skin plus in my country our native people do have dark skin because most of them live in the jungle or close to the sea(if you watch perhaps TV programmes like National Geographic, or History channel or Discovery channel you guys will know what I'm talking about). Our weather here is completely hot which is one the biggest reasons why we have tan and dark skin or maybe light brown skin and some of us even die because of heat stroke. Now lisa if you guys look at her IG posts closely you could see that she is actually has light brown skin but still considered as fair or white to some people. 3. The photographer that took lisa's picture on IG his name is Jack Bridgland a photographer from UK (Please correct me if I'm wrong). He had been working with so many celebrities and if you look at his styles when he took pictures and stuff you could have seen those celebrities looks a bit tan than usual because that is his style. So lisa could have tan her skin only for the photoshoots purposes. 4. To some black people who said that I am being ignorant because lisa is blackfishing. Now answer my question. If you said that I am ignorant towards black people when I defended lisa just because she tan her skin and you guys said she's blackfishing then now I could've asking the same question why are you guys being ignorant about the existence of Southeast Asian countries and believe that black people are the only ones who have dark skin? Why do you keep saying lisa is blackfishing when white people do the same? Why do you guys keep talking about black people rights when you said people with white skin is blackfishing as if they don't have any rights to do whatever they want with their skin? I have seen celebrities tan their skin and never disrespect black people but they do it because they want to not because they hate or disrespect you guys? The lyrics sound simple but actually have deeper meanings. I like the line “catch and kill” because it also refers to a paparazzi term where false rumors and negative stories are caught, bought off and killed to prevent spreading. It also may mean her fandom catching the negative rumors about Lisa and trying to kill the stories by defending her with proof that the story is wrong such as the current negative story about her plagiarizing a part of her MV from a Travis Scott video which fans have pointed out that the treatment or editing has been around and has been used by other artists such as Kendrick Lamar. Also expert editors have mentioned that Lisa’s team process is different as shown in her bts vids. Also the darker skin color is an aesthetic and arty look bc the photographer who took the pics is known to use this filter on all his clients including white people.
