Absolutely worth watching the entire Rocky Franchise. Do NOT skip any. You will love Rocky more and more with each film!!!

Rocky 2 for me is one of the most inspirational movies of all time and the best one of them all and they were all good.

People are always surprised. Rocky is a love story with boxing in it not the other way around. At the end he is satisfied with how he did and that's all that matters to him. He is completely focused on finding Adrian and does not pay attention to the result of the fight at all. Such amazing writing and it deserved best picture.

Don't leave us hanging. Get to part 2. It's even better.

There are 6 Rockys total. They are all absolutely worth watching. This is my absolute favorite original series of all time. I've watched every reaction to it and still get emotional with the reactors because they are that good. Great reaction to the first Rocky. You've earned a subscriber! ❤

Love the fact that you love this movie, The point of this movie was not for Rocky to Win, But for Rocky to prove to his doubters and haters that he can "Go the Distance", To prove that he isn't a Nobody. We all have that "Rocky Mentality" when it comes to our lives, to show that we are more than what people view us as, that's why this movie is timeless and resonates with so many people. This movie for all the times I watched it, I always shed a tear during the fight. Truly a classic and Inspiring movie and one of the best sports movies of all time!!

"And now they're cool again?" "Yeah, I don't know how that works.." It works because Paulie is shameless and Rocky doesn't doesn't have a resentful bone in his body. Salt of the earth.

Carl Weathers was a natural athlete. In his younger days he was active in boxing, judo, gymnastics, wrestling, soccer and football. He played in college and played 2 seasons of pro football.. 1 season for the Raiders, and 1 season in the CFL before becoming a full time actor.

Do what Rocky did. Go the Distance. Rocky 1 thru 5 then Rocky Balboa. THEN do the Creed franchise. You'll be glad you took the journey!

I’m kind of amazed at the number of people who are all into the sequels. I saw Rocky in the theatre and went back at least ten more times. I was thirteen and nothing else in my life was so motivating and comforting. It’s the best underdog love story ever made. I saw each of the sequels once when they were released but never again. For me, this is the story of Rocky and is the best love story ever made! Enjoyed your reactions 😊

Rocky Balboa is the greatest movie character of all time. Go the distance and watch em’ all Rocky 1-5 Rocky Balboa (aka 6) Creed 1-3

The whole Rocky series is great. It also makes the Creed series much more rewarding when you know the backstory.

Rocky really isn't a boxing movie, it is about life and over coming adversity along the way. In my opinion Rocky 2 is my favorite.

It was SO exciting to see this in the big theater when it first came out, during all the activities in the country based around the Bicentennial in 1976. It was the first time I saw an entire audience stand up when it ended, clapping and cheering, as if everyone was at a live concert. People walked out of the theater, practically dancing, hugging each other, everyone full of smiles and laughter. It was obvious that it was a massive hit, that the positive energy and excitement were something everyone needed and wanted at that moment.

Born and raised in Philly. Rocky franchise is definitely worth the watch!! It's really a love story with boxing. They get better and better then after Rocky Balboa is CREED. There fantastic and all tie in together. New here and just subbed and I bet the pretty lady will be crying and love this franchise by the end of Rocky 2. ❤

Rocky didn't " force" Adrian to do anything he asked her out , if any one was forcing anything was Paulie but u made it seem like rocky was forcing when Paulie didn't even tell her he was coming then he lied to Rocky about it

The whole point of this initial installment of the franchise, that Rocky reached his potential and gave it all he had, and that in the end it didn't really matter as long as he lived up to his potential and found the love of his life, was lost in the preceding films. It DIDN'T matter whether he won or lost, but that he gave it his best and got the best of his opponent. That's where self pride resides.

Butkus the bull mastiff was Sylvester Stallone actually his dog, but had to sell him to feed his family. After he sold the script for Rocky he bought him for 10 times the amount he sold him for. He still has the turtles, they're probably out live all of us. When go through the whole franchise including the two Creed movies, you both are going see that this is a love. Not just with Adrienne (Adrianna) but everyone in Rocky's life.

You guys are really good at this. You keep the movie in the correct ratio to yourselves. That way we can see your reaction. Then you make the movie bigger during the key dialogue. 10/10 reaction

Rocky is a love story with boxing in it… just fyi… when he wrote the movie, he went through a rough time and to make ends meet , he sold his dog…. Years later he tracked the dog down and bought it back… the dog in the movie is Sylvester real dog. Rocky won best picture in 1976 . Now you can’t stop you need to watch the rest… Rocky 2 it gets better. Oh one more thing… in the beginning when Rocky is walking home and a group of guys are singing.. the one in the middle Rocky shake’s his hand is his real life brother who is a singer and it’s his song they are singing his name is Frank, you see him also in Rocky 2.

I remember that side pain. You come back to school from summer break, and right off the bat, you have to run 3 miles on your first day of gym class. That was back in the late 70's and 80's for me. I don't know if they still make kids in today's world do that anymore.

2 3 4 are great 5 is the redheaded step child but still needed then Rocky Balboa finishes the saga out very well. Sly said in an interview that Rocky is not a sports movie. It is a Romantic Saga that just happens to involve a Boxer. Through the Saga you follow Rocky through decades of his life and his romantic Saga with Adrian

My pop (film major) used to have lunch with Carl Weathers (theater major) when they were in college at San Diego State.

He got the rocky hat at Goodwill. Most of Stallone's family is in this movie his father is the ring man his brother is the street singer.

I was sixteen when this first came out and seeing it on the big screen was amazing. I remember the buzz spreading about it and next thing you know it was a sensation. Great stories stand the test of time. Great reactions, brought back good memories.

Usually you find a consensus that I, II and III are the best but a lot of people love the whole series. Some fun facts: The guy bringing the trash can out wearing the hat is the guy that bought Stallone's dog. Stallone was broke and sold the dog. To get the dog back he had to agree to put him in the movie. The steady cam was invented for Rocky. Before cameras were too big and had to be mounted on a dolly or vehicle. This is why you get the iconic stair running scene and the intimacy of the fight. Still the lowest budget for a movie to win an Oscar. $1.1 million dollars and shot within 30 days. Stallone turned down a ton of money for the script. They wanted a big star but he held out to star in it. United Artists almost held the movie back. They had two other movies they thought would win the Oscar that year. Rocky came out late and pulled the upset winning Best Picture. Star Wars was released May of 1976 and Rocky December of 1975, 5 months apart. The guy leading the singers on the corner is Stallone's brother and the man ringing the bell at the fight at the end is Stallone's father.

Love your reaction to Rocky. Its such a great underdog? love story . Check out Braveheart (1995), its a another epic award winning movie. Scotland fights for independence against England, Underdog, war , bloody old school battles, love and courage. I think someone else did comment that Sylvester wrote this as a love story. I believe in addition to writing all the others, he also directed them. The dog in the movie was really his, he was listed in the end credits. I’m surprised you didn’t mention “Yo Adrian” unless I missed it on the first reaction, that is a very well known saying in pop culture.

Great reaction. The Rocky series are good. Rocky II, and III are amazing. Rocky III is my favorite due to the story. Rocky admired Apollo and he was the better fighter. He just underestimated Rocky fighting spirit. Rocky yes was not as skilled but had heart. As you said, he didn't care about winning he just wanted to prove he could stand with the Heavyweight Champion. Also, you got to see Adrian grow to Rocky's love and support. She started timid, but started to come out of her because Rocky loved and believed in her. FYI, Sly actually loved Carl's portrayal in audition aka Carl's comment to Sly not only won him the part, but their friendship too. Like Sly said there is no Rocky without Apollo :)

Rocky II would be my favorite. You should at least watch the first four although the whole franchise is a must see. Fun fact Stallone himself said that Rocky was more of a love story than a boxing movie. Great reaction.

Sylvester Stallone wrote the script after watching (in the stadium) ALI V WEPNER (who was a funny dude himself) went 15 but took a proper beating. The rest is history as they say.

Rocky series is must watch, a lot more story to the Rocky Franchise with emotions and many twists and character development , also please add warrior with Tom hardy to your collection , one of the most underrated mixed martial arts movie of all time . Amazing storyline and emotional

Pro tip...rocky marciano was an undersized heavyweight, but is the only pro to ever go undefeated. He ran 5 miles, every day, in full industrial work clothes and work Boots!😮😮😮 He was always in way better shape than anyone he fought!

This one is a bit different from the other Rocky movies because the punching sounds in the fight are closer to what a real fight sounds like. Starting Rocky 2, they add more sound effects to the fights. But a real fight probably would have been stopped if the fighter used his face to block so many punches. The ref in the ring is supposed to make sure the fighters can get their hands up to defend themselves.

Rocky 2 picks up right where this one leaves off.

I don't think anyone mentioned it, but he had to sell his pet dog for food and was almost dead broke when he wrote this. Butkis in the movie IS his dog. He bought him back when he sold the script.

RIP to the great Carl Weathers, Apollo Creed! Some Rocky facts! Pauly was only 34-35 when he started rocky, so he was only like 5 years older than Stallone! when he started this series U really should watch any documentary on how this got made!! Broke, almost homeless, sold his dog...for real!😮...wrote the script in 3 weeks. Was asked big money(back then) to sell it, but not star in it. He always said no. Finally sold it for 30k to ABC TV. He was good friends with and done a movie a few years prior, with Henry Winkler. He became THE STAR of😊 abc tv in the show Happy Days, as the Fonz. He heard Stallone sold the script to ABC. Henry goes to the ABC heads and says, u don't GIVE me that script, I leave the show....they gave it to him! Stallone never made a ton of money on the rockymovies. Only as a writer actor choreographer. He got ripped off by the first producer, who bought the rights and rocky name, and never sold it back to Stallone, though he's made billions! Based on a real tune up fight, for Ali. He was going to fight Frazier later in the year, for the title, but he wanted a tune-up fight. He fought against Chuck Wepner, a journeyman tomato can bleeder, who was good, but never top 10 ranked. And he damn near knocked Ali out!😮 The guy singing outside, is his real brother Frank!😮 The first guy he fights in this movie, Spider, shows up in Rocky Balboa or Creed! The teenage girl he talks to, also comes back in one of those movies! Adrian is the sister in godfather!😮😮😮😮 Gazzo, his boss, also in godfather 1-2! Stallone almost died in 4, because Drago, actually cracked his ribs, puntured a lung, punctured his heart sac! Drago in real life, has multiple masters PhD in engineering! The blonde wife of Drago, shows up in Creed 2 and so does Drago, and Stallone actually married that woman, and had beautiful daughters with her! Tommy Morrison in part 5 was a real boxer and could have been the greatest ever, but drugs and booze got him. In 3 Clubber got the role, by winning a Tough man contest! In 3 hulk Hogan, hit Stallone for real in the back of his shoulders with his forearm, and moved vertebrae. Dennis Quaid did a amateur tough guy boxing movie, kind of based on the Clubber Lang actor, that was very good, called Tough Enough! and busted his lip open! There was never going to be a 2, but this movie made so much money, win Oscars, etc., Stallone wrote a sequel! When he was accepting an Oscar for this movie on stage, Ali comes up, grabs him, fakes punches at him and says, "u stole this movie idea from me!" Paulie has done a couple other great movies, Rob the Mob, and Pope of Greenich Village! Adrian is part of the Coppola family.... Francis Ford, Nick Cage, Sophia Coppola... maybe her daughter! What 1 and 2 are really, the ultimate love story! U can go see the Rocky statue in Philly! The mistake of colors he's wearing, in the auditorium, was due to a mistake and money problems, so they kept it in, and had the dialogue reflect this! Watch all but u can skip 5, finish the Rocky series, then go to Creed! The Great fight ever... middleweight Ray...boom boom Mancini vs Duk ku Kim,... outdoors, Caesars palace. Outdoors. Went the distance. Slug fest. Kim died in the ring. He fought the last round with a busted blood vessel in his brain. Fights went to twelve after that. Cinderella Man is a great True story movie about a depression Era boxer!

You should watch the entire series plus Creed 1, 2, and 3. Regardless of what anyone in your community says. BTW, Burt Young (Paulie) was the real boxer. He has a 32-2 record as an amateur in the Marines and a 17-0 professional record after.

The fact that while the judges decide who won, Rocky only cares about seeing Adrian makes it one of the most epic endings in film history. In the end the winner was Rocky.

One small item you missed...Rocky won the Academy Award for Best Picture. None of the sequels got this kind of praise. Rocky II is a decent follow-up. It was necessary, but after that, they just were not that good anymore. You just watched the best one. In my opinion. Enjoy the rest.

Rocky is incorrect about the origin of "South paw." The term comes from baseball. Due to the path of the sun, when constructed, it is recommended that baseball fields be oriented so that the 3rd base line runs north and the 1st base line runs east. Most of the early MLB fields followed this recommendation so, when a left handed pitcher was on the mount, his arm was on the south side of the mound.
