I'm a black woman living abroad, and while I can say I can't personally identify with anything Rocky has been living through or rapping about, I love her music. I know I've listened to some of her songs over 100 times by now. She's the realest one in the game. I respect her grind. She's successful at her own level because there's no way she'd get to keep being herself if she blew up huge. The industry takes everyone real and makes them a version of themselves. But I wish more female rappers just did them in the mainstream, but it's gonna take women taking control of their part of the industry to achieve that. I think it can happen, but black women need to get on code and stay on it. Then we can see more realness in the mainstream whether non-black folks like it or not.
