Does Rocky still have what it takes to make another Championship comeback?

People say Mason was disrespectful here, but I'd say the first part of what he had to say actually was respectful. Patronizing, yes, but respectful. He wanted Balboa's image to survive, and he was right to think a 60+ year old man would get demolished.

First part was respectful, wanted Rocky to not lose face; but I found the second part disrespectful. The presumption that he was going to fight dirty was disrespectful.

@@dannyb3403 In fairness, fighting dirty was the standard in Rocky's day. He and every one of his opponents did a whole bunch of stuff that absolutely would not fly in the ring in Mason's time.

The thing is Mason does respect him, but at the same time he doesn't want to be held responsible should Rocky suffer permanent injury. He's basically saying "I'll give this a shot, but if you hurt me I'm knocking you out." His only problem is he didn't think Rocky was able to hit as hard as he used to in his prime.

it's the same thing apollo creed told rocky on there first fight when rocky took the fight seriously and tried to win the title almost all of his opponent underestimated him yet he proves himself after that in the fight

Wrong!! Rocky isn't giving any respect!! He is acting fearless. Dixon isn't disrespecting Balboa, he's just being scared. Rocky didn't ask him "aren't you a little scared" by accident.

Did you miss the point of the scene? Mason was straight up saying he wouldn't go all-out and humiliate Rocky as long as Rocky didn't try anything underhanded, then all bets would be off. Mason just underestimated Rocky and thought it'd be a glorified sparring match where they'd trade a few light shots for a few rounds and then go home while Rocky wanted to fight for real and made Mason step up his game.

When Dolph Lundgren (Drago) was married to his first wife and while he was away an intruder broke in a tied up his wife in an attempt to rob the place, as he was going through the house looking for things to steal he seen pictures and realized it was Dolphs house and ran away immediately....true story....the character of Drago was so intimidating that people were even afraid of the actor who can more than handle himself in real life anyway

Not if Dixon trained in the desert. J/k. (Spoiler) I don’t know how creed got into the heavyweight class since he was a light heavyweight in the first movie. He jumped up past cruiser weight. That is a lot. But drago actually looked like a heavyweight, even Apollo was an actual heavyweight, but Adonis doesn’t look it. Even Ivan said he was smaller than his father, yet they fought for the title.

Rocky sure had courage to come to Las Vegas for an exhibition match knowing that on a previous visit there he was in Apollo's corner against Drago and that Apollo lost both the match and his life.

I had never thought of this. But it makes perfect sense. The last time we saw Rocky in Las Vegas, his best friend died in his arms. Surely Rocky had memories of Apollo going into this fight.

Union Cane was just saying what George Washington Duke and that other shady guy were telling him to say to hype up a potential fight with Rocky. After the entire world watched Rocky defeat Ivan Drago, all Kane cared about was getting the next shot at Balboa because, even in losing, it would *still* mean the biggest payday ever for him. Kane was all about the money, which was why he (and later, Tommy Gunn) signed up with George Washington Duke in the first place.

Of all the Rocky opponents I got to say that Dixon was pretty boring. Boxing size Tarver was a beast but as a Rocky opponent or villain he left a lot to be desired. That's just how I feel about the character maybe there are some who liked him I wasn't a fan.

I liked him a lot. He felt way more grounded and humanized than the cartoon villains Rocky was fighting in 3 and 4. It took until Creed 2 to make Drago well-rounded and more human.

Methaphorically speaking, Dixon's still a kid if he thinks he can intimidate a pro, retired or not. Even if it wasn't Rocky, it's apparently an unwritten rule that you never try to run rough shot against an old warrior, even if they're past their prime. This has nothing to do with respect though, this has to do with the fact that more often than not, they can still bring it, y'know?

Dude did something more amazing than beating even the legendary Rocky Balboa...he beat Roy Jones JR! One of the few times that a real life accomplishment is so great, they can’t even top it in a movie!
