When rocky boxed spider rico, it was shot at gym out here in L.A. (East L.A. to be exact) at a boxing gym called the resurrection gym. Oscar DelaHoya boxed out of there when he was a kid. It was later bought by Oscar and he took over it. Since then though that old place was torn down and has been built into a newer bigger facilty to help keep kids off the streets. You can find the address on IMDB.
Brilliant Dave....I take it you hired a car while over there...?....Fascinating to see these places...strangly not a great deal has changed Streetwise.....The Roads seem quite quiet...what time of day was this shot...? Thanks again for this fascinating Video....keep them coming!
Thanks for the video!. My aunt lived on Philly she said the statue of Rocky really was in Philly!. I have always wondered what the building behind the statue was?.
@DG3744 yes the house is still there and yes someone lives there so if u plan to go i wouldnt advise u to knock on there door asking questions. as for the area yes its a bad neighbour hood i wouldnt recommend going there at night, you would prob be ok in the day but id take a friend with u at least
Today I went to Philly on a Field trip, couldnt make it to art museum because i had no time and it was a mile away, but i was able to walk where Rocky jumped the park bench in Rocky II. for those wondering, its in the field near the Independence Hall

Go during the day, drive there and don't wander too far but you'll be ok. Just go with someone and don't stray, I've lived in Philly for years and it's always been known as one of the worst areas in the city.
