Yes, that is a great part, but after a while I started liking the end better. Where Rocky is yelling "Yo Adrian, I did it!" as a response to her request for him to win. His only goal was to please her.

The church scene is my favorite. Mickey really let’s his feelings show for Rocky and tells him he believes in him and don’t give Apollo the satisfaction of an easy win because Rocky’s not ready physically or mentally. But, whatever happens he’ll stand by him. Epic scene
You might consider the reason Rocky doesn't drive very well is because of the damage to his right eye. It's a subtle but important reminder of the injury. This is the kind of love people strive for but lost in today's world of internet dating, instant gratification, and feelings that mean more than dedication and work in a pushbutton landscape.

But, most people know if the last round would have gone on for 1 more minute Rocky would have won. He had Creed up against the ropes, hugging his broken ribs. $150,000 in today's money is $750,000. He made 3/4 of a million dollars in one fight. After taxes he cleared, $37,000. Which in today's money is $185,000. It's a little hard to retire on that, especially after buying a house. This second fight between Rocky and Apollo really puts a spotlight on the huge gap in skill between Apollo and Rocky, especially with Rocky not having fully trained for this encounter. That said, Rocky's heart, determination, stamina, and chin more than make up the difference, especially with Apollo determined to only win by knocking Rocky out, which proves to ultimately be his downfall.
One of my favorite scenes in the movie was during that quiet moment in the dressing room u had Apollo looking in his reflection showing a bit of vulnerability despite all the jaw jacking and talking smack to rocky deep down he had doubt about knocking him out and winning the fight. What tony told him earlier he clearly thought about not too mention he witnessed himself rocky refusing to quit. Some of the toughest fights are the people that give u their all that even if u win a fight u really don't wanna fight em again lol
Rocky was fully trained for their rematch. Did you miss them showing Rocky training in it ? Rocky fought right handed so of course Apollo was going to dominate the match until Rocky switched back to south paw in the 15th round
@@NY1054Cool Rocky wasn't fully trained. He lost what I'm guessing was at least a week with Adrian in a coma. He trained hard and got himself as prepared as possible given the poor start to training where his mind wasn't in it and the late start once Rocky had her blessing.
@@commsense1979 he was fully trained . He had at least 9 weeks of training . He lost about a week. But still in great condition for the fight . In his fist match Rocky had about 4 or 5 weeks of training. The problem was he was fighting right handed to start the fight which made things easier for Apollo . Rocky is a South paw and went to that in the final round. If Rocky started south paw he would have fought much better from the start . He was still in peak condition for it. Rocky trained at the world class level for the rematch . Rocky depends on knock outs to win his fights while Apollo has the skill to win by knockout or go the distance by a majority or unanimous decision. Apollo lost due to going toe to toe in the final round instead of box and stay away to win by decision. Plus Rocky switched to south paw and attacked for the KO to win . Right from the start the goal was to KO Apollo. Rocky is a brawler and wins by KO in his fights . While Apollo is a boxer puncher who wins by KO or can win by decision. He was fully trained too.
Apollo's role was play perfectly by Carl. This was my favorite of the franchise. Once Adrienne says "Win" from her hospital bed and we hear the ding of that bell, it's game on! Nice reaction as well.

"Whose better, Apollo or Rocky?" - A ? that's bn asked & debated for yrs. Unsure we'll ever hv an answer (that's ok). Apollo is a GREAT character. Looking fwd to continuing this fun journey w/u. FYI...unsure if it's bn noted in Rocky 1 or 2 comments, Stallone has said (paraphrasing) Rocky is as much (if not more) a love story as a boxing story. Or, Rocky is a love story w/a boxing backdrop (something like that). Either way, tons of motivation & life lessons in Rocky.
Love your channel! Obviously credit Sylvester Stallone with writing/acting. But every character in there, all the acting, it's all fantastic. This would not have become the iconic franchise it is without Carl Weathers delivering one of the best antagonists in Hollywood history. Talia Shire as Adrian, Burgess Meredith as Mickey, Burt Young as Paulie. It's just all fantastic, imo.

Great reaction! Rocky 2 was the first movie of the series that I watched when I was just nine and I've fallin love with the series ever since. Every movie in the Creed and Rocky series is really good except for Rocky 5 is just okay. I don't think Creed versus Balboa 2 is the best fight of the series, but I do think that it has the best final round of any fight in the Rocky/ Creed series. And the heart-wrenching struggles Rocky goes through from the first fight to the second fight with Creed makes the highest suspenseful finale round even better. I will continue to watch the rest of the series with you! Nothing like it in cinema where you get to watch the journey and character development of a man from age 30 to age 72 in real time . When people ask what my favorite Rocky movie is, I say the entire series is a whole is greater than the sum of its parts . Rocky 3 is a great one I can't wait to see your reaction to it. I highly recommend that you watch the 2021 director's cut of Rocky 4 , "Rock IV, The Ultimate Director's Cut: Rocky vs Drago" over the original 1985 version. The 2021 version of the movie was re-edited to be more in line with Creed 2 and the rest of the movies in the series.
You should know that Rocky's entire career was about out lasting his opponents. He was not that great a fighter, but he had stamina, and he was tough. He was able to take more than most people. If you look closely at the end of the first film when Adrian is trying to get into the ring, you see Paulie fighting with the security guard. Paulie reaches down and pulls the rope up so Adrian can get into the ring. So... he wasn't all bad.
When go through all of Rocky movies you come to the realization that this was a love story, not just between Rocky and Adrianna (that's how the priest said her name) but everyone that comes in contact with him. Even in the two Creed movies he comes love Adonis.
Some Rocky facts! Pauly was only 34-35 when he started rocky, so he was only like 5 years older than Stallone! when he started this series U really should watch any documentary on how this got made!! Broke, almost homeless, sold his dog...for real!😮...wrote the script in 3 weeks. Was asked big money(back then) to sell it, but not star in it. He always said no. Finally sold it for 30k to ABC TV. He was good friends with and done a movie a few years prior, with Henry Winkler. He became THE STAR of😊 abc tv in the show Happy Days, as the Fonz. He heard Stallone sold the script to ABC. Henry goes to the ABC heads and says, u don't GIVE me that script, I leave the show....they gave it to him! Stallone never made a ton of money on the rockymovies. Only as a writer actor choreographer. He got ripped off by the first producer, who bought the rights and rocky name, and never sold it back to Stallone, though he's made billions! Based on a real tune up fight, for Ali. He was going to fight Frazier later in the year, for the title, but he wanted a tune-up fight. He fought against Chuck Wepner, a journeyman tomato can bleeder, who was good, but never top 10 ranked. And he damn near knocked Ali out!😮 The guy singing outside, is his real brother Frank!😮 The first guy he fights in this movie, Spider, shows up in Rocky Balboa or Creed! The teenage girl he talks to, also comes back in one of those movies! Adrian is the sister in godfather!😮😮 Stallone almost died in 4, because Drago, actually cracked his ribs, puntured a lung, punctured his heart sac! Drago in real life, has multiple masters PhD in engineering! The blonde wife of Drago, shows up in Creed 2 and so does Drago, and Stallone actually married that woman, and had beautiful daughters with her! Tommy Morrison in part 5 was a real boxer and could have been the greatest ever, but drugs and booze got him. In 3 Clubber got the role, by winning a Tough man contest! In 3 hulk Hogan, hit Stallone for real in the back of his shoulders with his forearm, and moved vertebrae. Dennis Quaid did a amateur tough guy boxing movie, kind of based on the Clubber Lang actor, that was very good, called Tough Enough! and busted his lip open! There was never going to be a 2, but this movie made so much money, win Oscars, etc., Stallone wrote a sequel! When he was accepting an Oscar for this movie on stage, Ali comes up, grabs him, fakes punches at him and says, "u stole this movie idea from me!" Paulie has done a couple other great movies, Rob the Mob, and Pope of Greenich Village! Adrian is part of the Coppola family.... Francis Ford, Nick Cage, Sophia Coppola... maybe her daughter! What 1 and 2 are really, the ultimate love story! U can go see the Rocky statue in Philly! The mistake of colors he's wearing, in the auditorium, was due to a mistake and money problems, so they kept it in, and had the dialogue reflect this! Watch all but u can skip 5, finish the Rocky series, then go to Creed! The Great fight ever... middleweight Ray...boom boom Mancini vs Duk ku Kim,... outdoors, Caesars palace. Outdoors. Went the distance. Slug fest. Kim died in the ring. He fought the last round with a busted blood vessel in his brain. Fights went to twelve after that.
I always find it intresting that before apollo goads rocky into a rematch that pollos manager is the only one whk thinks rocky can beat him. Not even mockey thinks je can do it yet.
46:14 -- Luckily the hospital never had an issue with me staying overnight with my (sadly now dearly departed) wife when she had to be there (she had major health issues)...though I did sometimes still have to go back some to make sure kitty was taken care of also.
Rocky- the original - winner of Best Picture- was a masterpiece. Rocky II was one of the best sequels of all time. Rocky III was fun... kept up the quality. Rocky IV was a step down but has stood the test of time due to Creed sequels. Rocky V- um...a mistake. Rocky Baloba made up for Rocky V. Overall, iconic!
When they are lying in bed and he is reading 📚 to her and she says you read nice and he replied "you lie nice" I never know how to take that? I really don't think he was implying she was being dishonest, I think he was just referring to her lying in bed. Most people seem to take it the opposite way.

I agree, you enjoyed the first one, i wont spoiler, this one is slightly better that the first, the only reason i say this, is rocky 1 was really a budget film, but the second movie i thinks is more about the development on oth charartors (spell check), i dont think any one id better than the other, because in a movie and then go onto a franchise, which was never in there minds, make rocky, because it was one of the best sporting movies ever made with romance, the franchise was born, and to be honest people say 6 movies, i think creed 1 and 2 would not have been the success with out the rocky franchise
Rocky fact: Rocky 1 was inspired by Jesus christ and the Bible. That's why the film starts with the mural of Jesus above the boxing match, and the entire theme is forgiveness and redemption. Truly a great film.

The commercial acting bit was pretty bad. The director would know he's a celebrity, not a professional actor, and would direct him like a professional would -- coach him, improvise, and make it as natural as possible for Rocky. It's not reality but it's there to fit the plot.
