As Rod says" No party was complete without George." Over a short span of years Rod would meet him again at parties. This line say's it all " Georgie, was a friend of mine." This is a true story. He wrote it almost 50 years ago. It was almost banned. I was 15 at the time. It was a life lesson. Still is and still relevant. Rod is a storytelling genius.
Lot of people misunderstood the performance, the way he was mincing around - he was in character as Georgie, being fabulous. As a notorious womanizer he was cool with it.
You guys have such a kind and emotional way about you....I sincerely appreciate this...hope for the world. From the UK myself and know this time 1976 and this song well. Left home at 17 with 50 pounds and two suitcases...never went back. a home that was not safe with a boxing champ father...never saw them again. With determination and courage found my way the the USA in 1984..nurse then cop...yes a gay man...years of struggles on my path...but now at 66 home is safe with my partner of 12 years....yes many friends lost along the way....thanks guys...I look forward to your future reviews.
I wanted them to react to Bob too but his songs just get blocked. But Murder Most Foul is a fantastic song. I know some people didn't think Bob deserved the Nobel Prize for Literature, but if he had only done one song in his life, and that song being Murder Most Foul, he deserved it for that. The lyrics are brilliant. I read into that song that Bob wasn't killed by Oswald, though we will never know from Bob. But singing: 'The day they blew out the brains of the king Thousands were watchin', no one saw a thing It happened so quickly, so quick, by surprise Right there in front of everyone's eyes Greatest magic trick ever under the sun Perfectly executed, skillfully done.' To me sounds like a very skilled, trained person, not some nobody who had a grudge.
