Looks like the water coming back out would need a sump pump set up to pump it away from the pit or maybe back into a recycle tank. How much is one of these set-ups complete with the power unit in tow? ball park.
1:48 The angled plate at the front of the initial rod, means it is always wanting to move off away from the axis. To go 'straight' the drill string needs to be rotating when extending, so that the 'average path' is straight. If you want to go in one direction (left/ right/ up/ down), you hold the plate in the orientation needed and the drill string moves that way.
