My MKE200 died on me on a job today. I had to fall back on my 2nd shooter booming an MKH416 instead .I’m going back to my 10 year old RodeMicro; rocker sound and way more durable. It’s been to the arctic circle, hurricanes and deserts and hasn’t skipped a beat.
I love the look of the sennheiser and outside I didn't think there was much of a difference but inside it was very noticeable. I preferred the rode sound.
I prefer the MKE 200. The Sennheiser focuses on clarity where as the rode just adds base. Most people prefer the extra bass boost but you can add that in post if you want. To me especially in talking head videos the clarity of the speaker is more important. This is why the Sennheiser comes out on top for me.
@@marqriley9460 if you look on the bottom right of FCP, go to effects (it looks like a box in a box icon on the bottom right just above your timeline), scroll down to audio, then eq, there you will see a base boost option among others that can achieve a fuller sound if you prefer it.
Hey, Tamara. I had made up my mind to go for the Sennheiser, until I watched your video. The last of about 4 video's. So not too sure now. Great video still, Sis. Give thanks.
Rode sounds better to my ears, the sennheiser is a lot more tinny but the form factor of the sennheiser (especially given it has a built in windshield/shock mount) is nice but that's trade offs for you there's no free lunch
@@matadortx Your voice should still sound natural. I like the Røde for it's more natural low and mid, but would be nice to also get the clarity of the Sennheiser. Sennheiser focuses too much on clarity instead and sounds very unnatural due to the lack of low end. Best would probably to record with both and mix them together. 😅
Funny I'd now pop up on this vid, huh? The Rode sounds better to my ears, but as someone else has said, you can always add bass in post, and I think the smaller size of the MKE200 will suit my needs better. Hmmm....
I love both of these mic’s, but for different reasons. MKE200 has better clarity. It just sounds so crisp and clean. It is also my go to when it comes to using my pocket 2 because of the size. It is really small and doesn’t add to much bulk. I works amazing with the Pocket 2 and the Extension Rod. Video Mic Go 2 has a really rich and full sound. I use it mostly with the ZV1 as they pair so well together. Love this video. Keep up the great content. If you get a chance, try the DJI extension rod with the Pocket 2 and the MKE200.
