I've only ever used perfect prey we have a vacuum sealer and I just seal them individually so it makes thawing and feeding easier also sometimes they send you pens :)
Since this video I’ve actually started breeding and freezing my own rats. It was pretty expensive buying rats so I figured I would go ahead and get started breeding before I got anymore snakes lol. I vacuum seal mine as well, don’t thing there’s a better way to keep rats.
Their packing is just so perfect lol. Hopefully I won't have to buy from them anymore since I'm starting to breed rats, but if I ever need some I'm for sure going back to them.
Here in 2021 and Perfect Prey still has Frank lol.. They didn't stick together at all for me. Fed ex also damaged the marking label and it was 2 days late and still dry ice inside
Yes. Agreed that vacuum seal is nice BUT...after opening there's nothing to reseal the bag correct? So you end up putting the product in ziplock anyhow.
Say you order 6 air tight bags of rats open one and store the rats from that in a zip lock then you still have 5 bags air tight so their fresher when you get to them. That’s what I like about it.
generally I use rodent pro because for the quantity of rodents, you get a better value (Albeit by a few dollars.) However, I love getting chickens on perfect prey because they are cheaper there.
Plan on ordering from Perfect Prey tonight or tomorrow for the first time. Have had issues with Rodent Pro and do not always like what i have seen. I shouldn't have to set there looking at the food item and agonize over to feed it off or throw it away. I hate that. I have also ordered small white mice from them. Ordered two hundred of them. The first bag i'm working on looks like someone took a hammer to the mid section and they are as flat and wide as can be. They look empty. Strange to see. Sorry if this sound a bit like a rant. Just wanted to share.
I buy from rodent pro cuz of the sales. But it would be cool to get vaccum sealed rats. But if they package them all together then once I open it I have to use ziplock anyway so I think I'll stick with rodent pro
I noticed also that Rodent Pro has a minimum dollar amount requirement, which doesn't help if you fall just under that amount of rodents needed. Perfect Prey didn't have that minimum amount, which is great if you don't have a sh*t ton of reptiles but still have enough to want to buy in bulk.
Updated to say: I LOVE this company and I won't use anyone else these guys are the best. I'm a new keeper and feeding all white rats are imperative to me because it would be impossible for me to feed rats/mice that have colors on them because I see those as pets. So the all white color helps me to see them as food and not pets. Plus, the rats/mice are always plump and healthy and as in their name...they're perfect! I can feel good knowing my snake is going to be getting the best food on the market. JLG Thanks for the video and turning me onto these guys!
RonnyLamar KylesJr. yeah i’m honestly looking to find someone where i can get like 15 mice because 25 is too many and they always get freezer burnt and i don’t think it’s as nutritional for my snake when they’ve been in the freezer that long
Rodent pro was awesome when FedEx lost our order twice! The packing here looks nice but won't last after you open it. I wonder with the way they lay them in if they are more prone to sticking to each other, especially the non-furry sizes. Overall, I don't think it's worth the extra $ to me.
Robert Bishop I’ve honestly never heard of them. I’m sure if I had kept buying instead of breeding I would have probably tried them by now. If I ever go back to buying I’ll give them a look though.
Who wants to pay and extra 1.00 or more a piece for a rat thats vaccume sealed over ones that are that much cheeper from rodent pro and are packaged properly just not vaccume sealed wich is a pain is the ass if you don't want to unthaw the whole package at once
Cut the pack and take one unless you’re feeding a lot of snakes - they shouldn’t be thawed and then frozen again if you’re using them for multiple feedings.
