Wettest rodeo for me was 1975 or 1976 high school rodeo in Golden, CO at Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Calf roping, bareback Broncos and bull riding. Bull riding slack was dry, not so much the bareback. Watched two cowgirls walk into a puddle and come out the otherside barefoot!
Summer of 1998 Amarillo TX, beautiful weather an hour before the rodeo, as the grand entry was getting ready tornado warnings started, the biggest downpour that I could ever remember, we grabbed our bags and went and jumped in the back of the camper for about an hour, long enough to let the rain to slow down to a drizzle. Arena was a complete pond. I don’t remember any of the times events running, but they ran the Broncs & Bulls almost altogether. I remember having a flat spinning Bramer that stayed spinning into my hand after the whistle, I could hear Fred Pitt yelling at me to get off his bull. I finally slid out the back & landed face first into the water/mud fully submerged.. have ridden at a lot of rainy arenas but can not remember one like that where the arena was completely a pond…
Sikeston Missouri was the muddiest I have ever competed in back in the early 2000's. I am amazed that you can remember dates, I can barely remember last month ha. I have seen you there a few times. I am from Poplar Bluff, so I don't ever miss a Jaycee rodeo.
Muddiest arena I have ever seen was Lancaster WI Little Britches roughly 10 years ago now, in black dirt. Had to cancel the goat tying! Kids were getting stuck in the mud😂
Hi Cody, just love your Vlogs. Could U do some filming of the Aussie Cowboys I know there are some of our Rough Riders over there trying to make a few US Bucks. The wettest rodeo I have ever been to is the Rocky Roundup at Rockhampton. As U can guess I am an Aussie and love Rodeos. Many Regards James.
Brings back memories, for sure! Currently retired, but there were several outdoor arenas in the Northwest that were under water during competition. We always said that we were like golfers - weather didn't keep us from competing. From Redding, CA to Longview, WA - there were some nasty, muddy arenas but the show went on.
Lived 30 years in Cheyenne, WY., attended many Frontier Days many times. Its the middle st arena I've ever seen. Two seasons in Cheyenne - winter and Cheyenne Frontier Days! Love your you tube channel.
The muddiest/wettest bull riding we were apart of was Nathan Tulls Mustache Bash 2021 @ at the Prague sale barn. The clay and mud quickly became a foot deep.
Enjoy your vids. Liked this one because you had Dusty on there, watched her when she was a little girl running barrels. Worked for her Dad and Uncle in Illinois at there rodeo company. C Bar, sure had fun back then, lots of memories getting on bulls there.
The Leavenworth county fairgrounds back in '93, the mud was up past the bull's dew claws during the fair that year. As a bonus there was a hole in the arena fence, because a sled broke loose during the tractor pull and hydroplaned right through the old wooden fence. Filled the hole with a few old farm trucks nosed in and the show went on.
Manawa Wisconsin this year they were running slack in about 1ft of water. They ended up having to cancel the Friday and Saturday perf due to the entire town being evacuated from the flooding
Kileen Texas PRCA Rodeo 1983. Was in the Bareback Riding. They called off the Rodeo during the Saddle Bronc Riding. Never seen a Pro Rodeo called before or since
Fought bulls in Carthage Tx at the Panola college rodeo for Wing rodeo company back in 2013. Had water standing in some places of the arena that would be clear up past my calf socks and ankle braces.
Muddiest for me would be stockville Nebraska and every now and then not Texas state fair rodeo in Denton will have at least one night where the seldom seen August storm will happen
I had fought bulls while I rode and I was fighting with a buddie in Cheney Ks and we were sinking almost 2 feet deep they tried to get most of it out but just made it worse every pass and and I told them I wasn’t going to fight for them when it’s muddy almost every time I fought
✝️🕎🇺🇸🇵🇷☝🏼✊🏼 I am surprised how hard-working people are just discarding ropes like they were the youth of the world this day. Use it once replace what in the world is going on. 🤔
