Lol you put in can rog rally keep the crown boy. Wow I literally was dying lol because I return 3 Rog Rally back to best buy worst console ever purchase in my life all 3 of them got black death screen and wouldn't charge either and the 1 of them had TF CARD SLOT DAMAGED. Brand new from best buy too.
@@okestgamer yeah I had rog rally I was super happy to get it but no good I even made a video on my channel and also for Aokzoe pro horrible the best console that I have that hasn't not yet broke down is Onexplayer and onexfly and Steam Oled has the best Screen though 👍👍😀😀
A big advantage for Ally is that it's actually sold by local shops in my country, it has proper support and doesn't have to be imported (with extra taxes added). It being sold locally here, means that it will have the mandatory 5 year consumer guarantee if there's any production flaws popping up during those years.
Yeah it’s pretty subjective to where you live. For me the tax was actually lower buying my aokzoe because of the declared value. But being able to return to store is great if you live in an area with that option
That is not an advantage for everyone, in my country it is imported and the Ally costs around $ 860 USD in average... which puts it quite close to the Onexfly which is also imported so the choice is pretty much your opinion and trust on the hardware. For the warranty, we only get warranty if purchased in ASUS store (and even there it is imported and the most expensive around 900-950 USD, and it is only 1 year)
In my country the consumer laws are quite strict, if your device is faulty (not including external factors of course) the shop you bought it at must help you get it fixed. For more advanced electronic devices it's 5 years (phones, pc and so on). So if my Ally breaks down in say 4 years, they'll have to repair, replace or refund it. The fact I bought it at a "local" electronics retaier, also means I can just go there if I need to send it for repairs. 15 minutes by car or 30 minutes with the metro. @@BudgetGamerz
Interesting. I have both and I find the Onexfly outperforms the Ally consistently, even with the same modification you made. I play fortnite a lot and its a smooth 60fps+ on the onexfly but not so on the ally.
Yeah it outperforms here as well, but even in my tests the variation per game seems present. Could be that some games just work better on the oxf like Fortnite.
Wow this looks amazing! I got the ally cause walk in and buy one but this looks clean AF! Awesome size awesome weight, that's what's stopping me from the SD and Legion go. Wish these guys got a western distribution partner!
@@okestgamer well of all the handhelds I've seen this is definitely the one I'd get, performance and portability seem off the charts. And it looks great too! Love the detailing. Edit: damn no vrr😔 Almost perfect😅
The problem with most handhelds is that they are not sold locally and often come from imports. This can make support somewhat more difficult. While the ROG Ally and Legion Go are usually available locally, I'm not sure about their support. Nevertheless, I would still opt for the locally available options, especially since the Legion Go appeals to me the most. I wanted to mention how far we've come. A really good PC that can play most games on low to middle settings, all in a handheld device. Soon, we won't need desktop PCs anymore, just a docking station for handhelds will do :
I mean nice comparison but where is the price comparison? Their repair service network? Battery drains, heat map, fan noises? I'm asking these because you posted the video as full comparison.
Price changes, for example there is currently a sale for the oxf so including that is not wise. Repair service is also different depending on the region you live in so also not something I can speak to fully for every viewer. Battery drain is a good one I could include in future videos. Heat map, I actually did try to do but ran into some unfortunate tech issues with the flir one I purchased. Fan noise also depends on what mode you use. I do not use turbo mode on my ally due to already having two ally devices fry the SD slot. Secondly if I can’t replicate 30w (turbo boosts beyond) on both without a custom operating mode on the ally which negates the default fan curves. So the battery drain and heat map would be good options for future videos of if I can sort out my flir one issues.
Yes it is mostly recorded. I got super busy at work recently so my time has been limited. In short though you need to search for core isolation in the windows search bar. Click on the result and turn off “core integrity”. Then search for windows features, and uncheck “virtual machine platform”. Reboot and you’re golden.
Yes it is a little bit stronger. If you would like a look at the 7840u (same as the Z1 extreme) vs the 7640 and 6800 watch my win 4 7640 u video. I did benchmarking in that one.
Good video prob still waiting on the legion go but cruized on over to the oneX site to find the device is much more expensive than the ROG shouldn't that be considered? Basically equal performance for hundreds less?
It is, but this is more of a device comparison video. At the end I briefly mention that there are factors to consider if purchasing not covered, but it was a little past the scope of this video. Currently it’s -$699 for 16gb 512gb rog ally -$999 for 32gb 1tb onexfly But really for me it’s the extra IO that also helps. Once you get spoiled with more than one usb c port, it’s tough to go back haha. I’m glad the legion went with 2 ports
@@okestgamerThanks for speaking on the ports these are the things I need to remember when making a purchase. I like the ROG but will prob steer away from it with the sd card issue. I have money burning in my pocket and want to just pre order the legion go but trying to hold on for the coming reviews. Edit for spelling
I'm fairly new to your channel and am not sure you can see this. Please try installing windows 10 and installing Atlas OS(windows mod on fresh install, it is not modded iso) and check to see if that makes any difference. Am using it on mine. Note FP doesn't work on W10.
If I had some more time it might be a fix video to make. Unfortunately I only have little time to dedicate to the channel currently, so I've got to pick and choose projects.
I don't have experience with the Kun unfortunately to compare. I do really like the onexfly (current favorite), I think it will depend on what size you prefer
Beating down the Steamdeck is a stretch. Battery that don't last an hour, inefficient power only beating the Steamdeck at higher TDP and a design fault that toast your microSD.
I didn’t test those because I do not use the default fan curves on either device. I have mine kicking in pretty early so temps never exceed 75 on either device
@okestgamer hello thanks for the info I have a rog ally, and have noticed that after bios update 319 the fan profiles changed, both fans only allow for 3 low points of fan profiles while fan 1 after 59° the fan jumps to 74% and fan 2 jumps to 45%.That is regardless of tdp I know plug in the manual mode allows for a higher tdp, games like frycry6,assassin's creed, elden ring will spike up to 84°+ while at 15w they won't break 60°. Is there any fan curve tool you can use to set a for the onexfly. I also have a onexplayer 1195g7 that had no fan control tool it was either on or off.
I’ll be honest my win mini has 64 gig ram, And my 16 gig legion go is more performant in like for like tests. Running low settings doesn’t typically see a boost from higher ram or vram allocation.
@@steveybiggunzgaming8118 not about ram allocation, its about not being bottlenecked. if u need to run anykind of virtualisation and emulation, extra ram is always helpful. u cant upgrade the ram in these device, so at least 24 or 32gb is a safe bet
This is HWinfo and Rtss. The onexfly comes with a template pre-made. I had to manually make it on the ally to be the same (instead of the stock ally overlay)
I believe if you get the final version it should work. It may not work as it did before though (could be a oneXconsole issue with the app) if this doesn’t work maybe try some of the fixes in my oneXconsole fix video. www.guru3d.com/download/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download/
@@okestgamer okay thanks. The reason being, Windows is not the best OS for handheld gaming. If you sleep the device while playing a game(eg Forza Horizon 5), windows will crash the app when it wakes up. But linux will retain state. This is very important for handhelds. Switch started this and Steam Deck also provides this feature. The Ally with ChimeraOS is almost perfect. Everything works. But my OneXPlayer2 Pro and the OneXPlayer2 both don't have audio out through internal speakers. Wanted to know if this issue persists on OneXFly. This might determine the choice between both as well.
@@okestgamer tried working with HoloISO and ChimeraOS devs. HoloISO, there no response. ChimeraOS devs know about the issue but no solution because OXP do not send them devices to test.
Where are battery tests and software comparisons? Maybe OneXfly performs slightly better, but maybe the battery life is 40% less, or maybe OneXfly has horrible software...
Battery is 48wh vs 40wh. You can determine battery life by setting TDP and looking at the overhead wattage on top of it. They are similar in total system power at the specified tdp (usually about 10w above). From there it's just math. Battery life would be very slightly better on the onexfly, but very close. Software has both had major updates since the video was made. Currently I would say the ally software is better than onexconsole, especially with the recent update.
@@okestgamer Thank you for your response! I'm considering purchasing the OneXfly. The specs look great on paper, but I'm concerned about any hidden pitfalls.
@@MiriMany the main thing is when it comes to warranty/repairs. This is also dependent on what country you’re in. If you’re in Europe or North America, it’s very easy to return the ally if you have an issue, where the onexfly is more difficult shipping to China for repair. I tend to fix most of my own stuff when I can, so it doesn’t bother me. I actually just ordered the 8840U onexfly yesterday.
Yeah I’m not sure tbh, back then I did testing but it was less structured and recorded. I had tested timespy and got 3070 with 30w (no turbo boosting past 30w) and 3157 on the onexfly with its stock and driver.
Really exciting for the Legion Go then with the same faster ram. About a 5 fps increase is pretty nice and noticable on these devices running at around 60 fps or lower.
awesome video, wonder if the faster ram speed maybe the reason why onexfly was performing better? 🤔 also the mod u did for the ally, is that not possible to do on the onexfly as well?
Thank you! So the mod is likely a good part of the issue. The onexfly actually has those two settings turned off by default when you get the device. It’s also why I wanted to show the ally with the same settings even though it was against the review guidelines I set for myself (only stock with updates).
I don't know why anyone would buy a handheld not from aya neo. They literally invented handheld gaming, they have the best quality, the best performance, the best support and the best looking devices. They're also working closely with AMD and even developed custom APUs for their handhelds and allowed other OEMs to use those, like 6800U and 7840U. Buying anything other than Aya Neo is a waste of money.
You are way off what are you smoking they only had the 5825u chip and have you heard of gpd they released there first handheld pc device in 2016, ayo was founded in 2020 I think
@@Sonsofanarchyrules678 yeah I've heard of them. I also know they copied Aya. But their performance sucks, their design is ugly and their builld quality is really bad.
I’ve only tested the mouse mode gyro on the oxf which worked. For controllers it prompts you to install more software which I haven’t tested. But even seeing mouse mode work confirms it has it.
@@okestgamer look at any benchmark videos for it. It was getting 70-95 frames in cyber punk and many other demanding games. Rog and Lenovo can only reach 25-45 frames on similar games. That’s more than double
That's not true. The Kun uses the same APU. Kun has more ram and battery capacity which is nice. But performance isnt that much better especially for $500 more.
I'm a woman and I have small hands and I really can't hold the Rog ally properly. I tested it in the store and it's very uncomfortable for me to hold it, but the OneXFly has a smaller and better structure so I'm holding it, thinking about buying it, but I don't have anywhere. test to see if it will be a good experience, I'll count on luck
I just turned off core isolation and virtual machine platform. Just did “modded” to keep it simple. It’s surprising the difference it can make. It’s one of the old tweaks that are discussed, but I’ve never seen compared. I’ll be doing a short video on it soon
Yeah it’s $949 right now for the 32gb 1tb. During the Indiegogo it was $739 for the 16gb 512gb. Seems to scale the price as is typical if wanting more vram/storage. Great little device though.
On sale on Amazon right now for 10% off on the 32gb 1tb model (normal price $949). Through one seller only and it's a coupon. Picked one up because it's through prime so no hassle/risk return. Trying to replace my myriad of devices (including the Ally--hate the back buttons and can't disable them without Armory Crate software). Onexfly seems like an all in one devices that can play triple A but small enough to be a go-to for emulation and indies (never liked these on ally, much less my steam deck--just too big to feel right to me doing retro or 2d stuff)
