I think that Roger is safe, because in order to finish the bicep slicer the lasso knee needs to be pointing to the outside not the inside. Then when Roger pushes the knee away as he is passing, the person on bottom can't complete the slicer because of the lack of pressure. Basically he would be in the slicer position but not enough pressure to tap him. I am only basing this theory on the fact that my training partner and I look at this position for about an hour. Also, 1:56 when he talks about not leaving the guy on bottom facing you was where my training partner and I found that the slicer could still be applied. Very dangerous pass if you don't know what your doing.

I am no world champion black belt but the lasso guard was originally used to set up the bicep crush....not sure why he is passing to the same side it would make setting up the bicep crush easier. I know a few guys that have had their forearm bones fractured from bicep crushes so that move is no joke and is why it is not allowed in competitions for lower belts. I wonder if he is showing this based on the fact that the bicep crush can't be used by lower belts.......who knows.

How are you going to bicep crush when he has control of your lower leg so you can't move to generate any strength. And then he has his weight on you so you can't generate any type of power. You need that lower leg to finish the crush, and guess what, he's holding that leg the entire time. Roger doesn't show moves that only work on lower belts. The man is the ultimate technician.

Doesn’t that put you directly into a bicep slicer though?

What about the bicep slicer from the bottom? By leaving your arm in the lasso as you pass are you not leaving that open as an option for the guy on bottom?

Exactly, I sure hope there is a response I am very curious as well.

+EvilGreens If you're Roger Gracie, just flex your bicep and you will break his leg

EvilGreens thats why he is keeping his weight on the others guy leg while passing..with so much downwards pressure there is no way to slice your bicep

That would be a problem in MMA/no gi, however, most slicers/crushes are illegal in even high level jj tournaments in the gi.
