Oh man...no doubt. This was the high point for sure. The song flowed so well and the guy who stood in for Gilmour was hitting on all cylinders on vocals and guitar. Just an amazing show.
Which makes is so amusing to see the negative, angry comments left on sites like Variety's review of the LA show. "I"m a HUGE PF fan, but .... " Well, no, they are NOT huge PF fans if they did not know that Pink Floyd music can be very political. What part of Money went over their heads? What part of Animals did they not understand was Orwellian? It's a delicious payback, I'm not sorry to say. For all of their verbal abuse online, calling anyone who dares to differ with their opinions that Trump is the greatest a "lib-tard" and that we are "butt hurt," all I can do is grin really big and wonder why they are so "butt hurt" to find out now that so much of Pink Floyd's music was politically inspired. Tough. That's on them for not doing their due diligence. They have Kid Rock and Ted Nugent. Good for them.
I think waters calling trump a fascist or a nazi is so laughable it's beyond contempt. Whatevs dude. Great music, but politically you're a child. When journalists are being round up and shot, let me know. the only violence I'm aware of, true violence, was the lefty who almost murdered a sitting GOP congressman on a baseball field.
@@DonotlandlordTX I don't recall him once calling Trump a fascist or a Nazi... EDIT: I will say - I don't agree with all of Waters' views, but I've always loved Pink Floyd and him, and they're his views - he can think whatever he wants.
@@DonotlandlordTX As Roger said, "And in the end you'll pack up and fly down south Hide your head in the sand, Just another sad old man All alone and dying of cancer"
"And when you lose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sown. And as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stone. And its too late to lose the weight you used to need to throw around. So have a good drown as you go down all alone, dragged down by the stone........" Is there anything more scathing than these lyrics in music? Roger's songwriting in Dogs is just incredible
Jon Carin has stepped up to the plate. He has done Richard Wright a good service in keeping his music alive. Well done. Great video, thank you for sharing this moment .
yes it was great to see him perform where Richard left off.. a great musician in his own right.. which is why waters plays him often...... was at the show in chcago..... simply amazing... goosebumps the whole show... bouncing around in my seat the whole evening... blown away..... wonderin why my ass was so sore the next day huh.....
@@wlouisharris ... Go out to July 8, 2022 and you get Roger Waters doing "Sheep" to complete Animals! ✊ Roger Waters is "The Animal" of Animals and so was David Gilmoure.
I am SO glad I didn't check out much from this tour prior to seeing him. Of course I had seen a couple clips, but hadn't realized exactly how he staged this. It was just amazing!!! The pyramid at the end was friggin' amazing also. I clearly didn't try to top the wall tour, just do something really different and new, and he seriously succeeded in raising the bar for others. I've seen a lot of amazing shows. This is very likely in the top 7 for me (can't cut it down to 5. Waters - The Wall 2012 at Wrigley Grateful Dead - 1993-6-18 (my first show) Paul McCartney - Out There 2013 Pink Floyd - 1994 Waters - 2017 Us and Them Waters - The Wall 2010 (indoors) Grateful Dead - 1994-7-23 (Lucy in the sky!!!! those days are in the past for me, but, wow!) Peter Gabriel - 2016 Rock Paper Scissors So many more, but as far as top overall sensory experience, I can't do just a top 5.
I have seen Roger twice, David once and about to see Nick for the third time. They all do a masterful job. I won't try to put one over another. It's a shame Roger and David can't make peace. Floyd was all 4 guys ... plus a couple of non Floyd members to lay down Gilmour's multiple licks. PF one of the greatest bands of all time.
What a cool way to start the second half of the Us And Them tour. I loved it. Now it’s the This Is Not A Drill tour in the round. I can’t wait. It’ll be my fifth tour seeing Roger live(K.A.O.S tour, In The Flesh, The Wall, Us and Them and now the This Is Not A Drill tour). Fuck ya!!!
It will be, but unfortunately it wont be out for at least a year and half or 2 years. He's not gonna release it until he's done touring, which isnt supposed to be over until mid 2018.
@@BCS1105 ... Out on DVD of October of 2022 probably held back to include "Sheep" from Roger Waters new "This Is Not A Drill" your. By the way, October 3, 2022 concert in Arizona I'm expecting something big and amazing with the album "Animals" to spark Glendale, AZ "Wild Horse Arena" into next year's Superbowl there in February if 2023!
I WENT TO A ROGER WATERS CONCERT IN ALBANY ON 9/23/2017 AND IT WAS FRIKIN AMAZING. And im 14 years old. amazing doesn't even suffice. epic is a weak adjective here. MONUMENTAL. a monumental performance in my life. Roger waters is an amazing person who has given light to my life through music, and is savage af. AND I GOT TO TOUCH THE FLYING PIG!
The sheer power put behind the lyrics is overwhelming. literally, i almost cried it was so powerful. also, when they were dissing trump the old couple next to us GOT UP AND LEFT! omg it was hilarious. and on a side note, if someone didn't know trump at all, they would think he's an utter psycopath.
Saw him last night here in Phoenix with these almost exact same seats! Took my 13yo who'd never been to a concert - She said after the show that she was shaken by it, she said she felt like she was in a dream...I actually cried during the show...I'm a grown man for Gods sake!! Only Roger can have that kind of an impact. Thanks for this great post! Great camera work!
Lucky you, taking your 13-year-old daughter. Mine is too busy being alienated a nd moody. There's no way I would have taken her to this show. Now, Green Day when she was just 2 was a riot! Around that age she used to demand "I want Green DAY! I want Pink FLOYD!" So cute and so pure--she loved the music. I can't get through to her now, but I will be taking my millennial-age son who just graduated from college to see this show (my second time seeing it). He's older and very much into politics--more so than I for a long time. He's going to come unglued, I think. Plus, he has loved Pink Floyd since he was a little kid, and one summer we spent driving around together blaring Pink Floyd from the car stereo system. And then, he got really into Orwell's Animal Farm in high school. He's going to love this. It will be a very memorable event in his life. And yes, thanks so much to the camera-man for posting this. Wonderful.
I am so jealous of you and your daughter. I was not able to attend sadly, so I bought myself the CD and DVD of this tour. I know it probably won't be the same experience as being there, but I know it will be an awesome listening and watching experience. Anyway, thank you for reading my comment. Shine on, fellow Floydians.
I like it when class acts, slip up a little, that's how you know they're still actually performing. I was worried when I was watching clips from the wall he lip synced but after seeing what this tour is about to him and stuff, he's real
Thanks for the upload 💕👌. Was at this show with friends seated at the same angle as you, just way above. Was a great show and the dogs/pigs part was the best of all.
You guys haven't even gone crazy watching this show. Here in Belo Horizonte-MG - Brazil. They sang with Roger, shouting. Crazed. I yelled as if there was tomorrow, I left without a voice of the show. I loved all that.
Saw the Glasgow Scotland gig amazing animals wow 🐕 dogs and pigs blew me away can't wait for his new tour called this is not a drill I'll be there for sure
How I love this album dogs is one of my pink Floyd s favorites how I miss the first part sung by guilmour let's not forget the contribution of Mason and especially wright the keyboard man and last but not least the sound engineer Parsons you who's listening to this I gotta admit you are true Pink fan and you really have a pure soul and like me this band has marked you for the rest of your life
... and now out to July 8, 2022 we got Roger Waters "Sheep!" ✊ This concert and 7/8/22 "This Is Not A Drill" Roger Waters completes the Animals album. 🤗
Floor, 5th row. Great show!! This is great to be able to see how the power station looked in its entirety, we couldn't see all of it from where we sat. Pigs was the best part of the set, followed by One of These Days (first time hearing that live!!)
Roger waters yum center concert was great I saw Pink Floyd animals concert in Louisville Ky for $8.50 concert tickets with pigs etc and a laser light show was great
love to him squeeze sheep in there to complere the dogs/pigs/sheep collection lol maybe hell bust it out on a show, i love how the projections are on stage then all the sudden the power station comes out of the ceiling like in kansas i think i was watching, thats killer, gerald scarfe n storm thorgerson would be proud
lol, ya i noticed that too liz francis, hopefully theyll play it sometime , rogers gotta be so sick of singing the wall stuff 10,000 times over the wall tours that this is a fresh breath of air for him to do anything different, i gotta admit, i miss his leather jacket with the hammers armbands though lol
Yep, and that's at least one reason he's not doing it on this tour. It was performed 'recently'. I guess for him to add something like Sheep, he'd have to cut a few of the 'hits' out of the set, which might turn off some of the casuals.
I went with 7 friends (I bought 8 tickets as soon as they went on sale) to see Roger Waters on his "In the Flesh" tour at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 2000. Our seats were in the middle of the 10th row on the floor from the stage. It's the closest I've ever been to seeing Pink Floyd in concert. They performed Dogs that night (outstanding), but sadly, not Pigs (Three Different Ones), the song I was hoping they'd perform. But, his version of Comfortably Numb, with a righty/lefty, back and forth guitars war, high atop the stage on the song's solo by Snowy White and Doyle Bramhall II helped to ease my disappointment of not hearing Pigs. Consider yourself very fortunate to hear/watch Pigs done live, because it's not a song Pink Floyd or Roger Waters has performed live very often (only Roger has recently, since @ 2016). Thank you for posting these 2 fantastic songs from Pink Floyd's Animals album.
Went to the show last night in Chicago, it was awesome! I really liked coming out of the intermission with these 2 songs back to back. I wasn't as much into the political twist on Pigs but it was really cool to be able to see him live finally
And now 7/8/2022 to complete Animals we get Roger Waters "Sheep!" Amazing visuals to now have all three "Dogs" "Pigs" and current time "Sheep" video rock concerts (This Is Not A Drill) footages.
Roger's sounding good and the staging is amazing, but the music sounds a bit thin and pedestrian - I know, I know, I shouldn't try to compare, but you can't help it with songs iconic as these. I always felt that Roger makes you think but it was David that made you enjoy it.
Can't play everything, and can't please everybody. I am always just happy to get to see him or David Gilmore so whatever the set list makes not never mind to me. Saw him on June 21st and will again the 27th. Will be the same I am sure. But it is ROGER WATERS!!!!
Great video! I was there last night in Los Angeles and you did a great job capturing the beginning of the second act which was the highlight of the show for me.
This was so wonderful. Hell I voted for Trump and I had a ball laughing at the screen the whole time. You gotta be able to criticize people in his position of power. My mother came as well though and she didn't seem so entertained (she's pretty solidly right wing while I voted for Trump simply bc I thought Hillary was worse). Guess you can't please everyone
Really thought about going to Greensboro tonight to see the show there.... But when it came down to it I realized, that without Gilmour (guitar and vocals) there just wouldn't be the right kind of emotion in the music to suit me... But of course I am 60 and felt like Pink Floyd improved after Roger left... I have never seen them w/ Roger but saw them 4 times after "Momentary Lapse of Reason" came out... I know he has had enormous high grossing tours in years past, but I am just not that interested in Roger Waters... But I am glad so many get so much pleasure from him..... I would probably enjoyed watching him tour with Doyle Bramhall II.....
This is the first tour where Roger actually played the bass part to "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" - he played rhythm guitar on the album and following tours, while Gilmour played bass on the album and Snowy White played it on the '77 tour. Given Roger's long-running habit of lip-syncing, I'm surprised that he didn't just fake it.
@@toddmorrissey8372 Roger has always had trouble with his voice - each line of "Shine On" required many, many attempts in the studio to get it right, which prompted them to build their own recording studio the following year, to save money. For The Wall, they were tax exiled and couldn't use their own studio, but Roger had to record his parts in a separate location at a lower altitude. And there's a classic story of Michael Kamen cracking up during the Final Cut sessions, after weeks of listening to Roger sing the same line over and over again; it was even commemorated with a custom t-shirt. With that said, it was always highly unlikely that Roger would be able to sing those songs live, so beginning with his first solo tour, he started lip-syncing the tough ones. Even during his In the Flesh tour in the early 2000's, he was still using tapes from the original studio tracks; later on, he would pre-record a track during rehearsals that would be used for the whole tour. People still noticed, and his tour manager even admitted during his updated Wall tour that one difficult song would wreck Roger's voice for an entire show, so tapes were necessary.
I love watching these videos! Not just for the incredible music but also for the boos and ‘f**k You roger’ shouts in the crowd during Pigs (3 Different Ones)! (Yes I have heard some people shout that 😂)
Been a Floyd fanatic from growing up on Merseyside smoking weed as a teenager listening to 'The Wall'...!! Like 90% of all kids on Merseyside biggest followed band 'Legends', Weirdo if you werent into Floyd in area..!! But only albumn l didnt give a chance to was 'Animals'.. My god what a mistake went to see Roger in Birmingham and Dogs and specially Pigs (3 different ones) blew me away and is now my fav albumn (just) coz from Gilmour joining Floyd so hard to pick the best albumn...!! PS Went to Pulse Earl Court 94 and thought visually couldnt be beaten but WOW set 2 Battersea Power Station blew me away specially with a trippy ecstasy pill...!!! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, going to see BritFloyd at Echo cant wait seen Aussie and Brit and since Damian Darlington started BritFloyd they are well better sound and visually 💙 .
Thanks for the "tribute" to POTUS - invite him to one of your shows. He might not get it, but give the I Diot a chance 🐷🐷🐷 BTW; love the full body of him - shows that he only has it in between the thumb and index... Can't wait for the shows in Copenhagen in august 2018 ⚒⚒
my mammy broke my brothers pulse tape cause he played it that much and I fucking hated it... 20 years later I will be going to see waters with him. shine on
What a great show. In St. Louis, he didn't do the screens due to some technical malfunction which was dangerous to the audience. I'd be angry not to see the screens.
I saw him last night in L.A and omg it was EPIC. I had so much fun during all second intermission, wow. Just curious, since KY is pretty red how did people react? Did the majority cheer or some people left?
You should see all the negative comments left on Variety's review of the LA show. Apparently, a lot of them did not know what they were in for. I have to say, I find it amusing. "Huge PF fans," as so many of them described themselves, did not know? That's just silly.
