+Rolling. I've been a Pink Floyd fan since 1968 when I first heard "Interstellar Overdrive", but I 've always thought for myself. Those of you who let "rock stars" think for you are intellectually lazy, merely lemmings driven a Stalinist rock + roll culture. Roger's mind is as illuminating as a 5 watt bulb.

It's a brilliant song and especially when played at the UFO Club. You seem too invested in hating him while calling yourself a fan? Why come on his post of his poem and be negative? So what you are really saying you have an opposing view about something he says so you think insulting him will make your point. He has a right to speak up and people can agree without being fans and not because they are.

Jason. There is no such thing as war. Stay with me on this. One young man said to me education is one person's idea. I said to the young man I will take that on board. I thought I would add that in. When USA helped mercenaries kill Guadaffi, I asked a young man why did Obama go after Libya and why kill Guadaffi? The young man replied Government run a business. That's about what war is all about. It's not really war it's transitions. Same with ww1 and ww2. Hitler was friends with Ford and used their vehicles during ww2. Churchill and USA bombed German cities for 24 hours raid after raid. The more damage they did using phosphorus bombs meant they make more money when they had the contracts to rebuild. You know this is true as both Germany and Japan had expanded their production and industry opposed to remaining in ruins like Iraq. The world bank funded both world wars and are now behind a medical martial law.

*Roger Waters* is a genius! I've been fortunate enough to see him in concert 8 times between 1987 and 2012 and will see him again this year {2017}. His shows are the absolute best and his message always - at every show - brings tears to the eyes of his fans. He is right, all this political bullshit, these politicians who want to kill off the elderly and the poor... they're the ones who need to go!!! I'm looking very forward to *Roger's* new album... I wish he would do a concept album about how 9/11 was an inside job and how that asshole Bush was largely responsible. Of the so-called 19 hi-jackers, in 2007 a reporter discovered that at least 12 of them were still alive and living their lives in their own country and had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. That would make for an amazing album!!! My best to you, *Roger*. See you soon!!!

Brilliant poem....Here is one of mine. THINK YOU KNOW WAR? So! You think you know war, “Yeah right” think again. You think you would cope with the cold and the rain, The stench from the shit as it mixes with blood, Seeping into the trenches where your ancestors stood. You think you’ve courage to stand in their place, To share in their fear, to stare death in the face, To enter the real world and soak up their pain, As adviser shaped lice suck the hope from your veins. You think you know battle, I say you’re no man, No way could you cope with the bombs in the sand, The fragments of skin they plaster over the ground, No way could you handle these sights and the sounds, The Buzz from the bullets, the screeching of shells, The screams from the Limbless as they languish in hell, The little child sobbing, it’s guts on the floor, You reckon you know all the reasons for war, You think you won’t buckle under enemy fire, You think you’ve the bottle to cut through the wire, To enter the badlands when the odds are against you, I say you’re a coward and I damn well detest you, You reply, “This was needed, our freedoms at stake” Not even the bollocks to admit your mistake. You think you’re a leader, but your words remain truth less, And those sat behind you are fucking well toothless, You think you know war, but I know the truth is, You’ve a quest for your wealth you remain fucking ruthless. You reckon you’d fight when coming under attack, I reckon you’d piss down your Downing Street slacks, I reckon you’d cower far under the benches, A million miles from real men in trenches. So lay down your reef, and your head down in shame, Keep killing our youngsters, but never in my name. Keep pretending to lay all your cards on the table, Promoting your mirage of political fable, Look down at the Poppy adorning your chest, Send us to war, knowing we’ll do our best, Pretend you’ll remember, but I know you’ll forget, That others still die for your sins. Think you know war, like fuck think again.

Wonderful verse. Thank. Only Roger still believes that you can spread your wings and fly to a better future. Eh, the irrational optimism of most people ... to believe that there is something to live for ... I have a wonderful life (temporarily), better than 99% of people, but I am smart enough to see that there is terrible suffering in the world. Right now, when I write these words, someone is being raped and tortured, but unimaginable suffering from violence, want, old age, disease, death? We cannot even imagine the strength and duration of suffering on the planet. And I'm not just talking about humans, we're just one of the many kinds of sentient beings on Earth. Want to live because it’s not me who is suffering now, but someone else? such yourself ... The world is a fucking dystopia, in which there is too much suffering to want to live, you just have to think. Unsurprisingly, most people choose not to think for long. Life is not needed.

Been a true Floyd fan all my life and seen them 9 times including The original Wall tour in Los Angeles back in 1980. Each member is like each ingredient of a secret recipe, and to say that one member defines the band name is incorrect. Songs like... Careful With That Axe, Eugene or Time, would not be the same without Nick Mason's drums, or Shine On You Crazy Diamonds awesome keys without Rick Wright. The best bands are simply a collaboration of many talents regardless who is the main writer or composer. For you newbie Floyd fans, go back and watch Floyd Live At Pompeii and you will see that not one member is trying to outshine the next. As a musician of 35+ years, I know this feeling and I also know how some band members lose their way as their head(ego) inflates.. (like Roger). This is why David had enough of it because you lost your way Roger! People who go to concerts want to be entertained, not filled with political spewing, especially spewing of ignorance. We all know war is bad and it kills innocence, but to place blame on America? LOL, check your history Rog, if it wasn't for America, you'd be speaking German right now and wearing a swastika on your arm band! So do us all a huge favor, and keep your political rhetoric out of your concerts, after all... we're the one's paying the high ticket prices to see bands perform, NOT to hear you spew your political crap. As for your new CD, ... hmm, sounds like a conglomeration of past projects with no defined direction... what a shame :(

From all of the world, all poets should unite and teach the politicians how to behave as humans Can they do, Can they unite? Or we are poeting, After burning our hearts and minds For each stanza dedicated to honest people Without results ... Wasting our time, Publishing books from our pockets, Books no-one likes to read or buy, Even if handed free. Most read silly love stories of love, killing and hate! Can we change unite honest races with poets To fight unfair politicians filling this earth? Their aim is to sit on chairs Slaving us to believe them With their speeches, Filled with lies after lies... Imprisoning our freedom, our dignity, our tongues,... Changing our arms Discarding our poems, After searing our hearts. After we die our stanzas will be respected and Why! Why, not now... Why the delay...Why! Why we can't apply our stanza now ... And Why??? SYLVA PORTOIAN, MD Written instantly June 3, 2017

Sounds like a poem an inspired 12year old might Write. Nice to see a guy between 70 and 80 still care in a naive kind of way. Waters thinks his New album has the answer(s) to all modern day trouble. He will be bombarded With critique when this New album finally hits the record stores. FINALLY. 25 years. 25. I have waited all this time. Against all odds of the modern day way one does not make Money on New music. Perhaps Waters will beat the odds and deliver a true seller. I wish him the best of Luck because he cares enough to actually make a New album despite not in any way having to do so. His upcoming tour so obviously will fill his Pockets once again, and it would only be great for the industry and perhaps putting some healthy influence on selfish othe old stars who only tour for Money and their greed+EGO tours. At least Waters isn`t only cashing in on old tunes like Stevie Nicks and so many other empty old touring acts. For that I salute Roger Waters wholeheartedly. I have bought his New album like I have bought ALL other albums he has been involved With in the past. As a fan I have supported Waters to the top, both finacially and artistically. Nice to see that he deserves it. His New album is a gift. I shall listen to it With the lights dimmed and my attention on one thing for 57 minutes straight.

I like to add for this hearty, honest poem some lines from me In the Core of Earth Nothing Has Changed People haven’t changed Since earth-birthed. Fashions change But never their racist-ness...! Shakespearean plays Repeat themselves In the Caucasian terrains Faraway caves*. Genetics transmit From genes to genes stepping To build new havens Forgetting what tragedies wars shed ... If people think changes exist Why at every site are killings seen; whose Slayers are men born from mothers, Not devil beasts. Knives turned to guns, Metals feel unashamed. Though shared, modified ways, The killing has turned easy fun! Laws have been changed Through centuries of Pursuing punishment For those who won’t obey. I feel people are the same in core, Although somehow civilizing their views But, hearts still hurt others, Lancing their pearly souls. Thus, do we need new humanitarian genes To seed and change unfair laws? Sylva Portoian, MD From my Poetry Book, "Churchill at Ararat" 2017 June 8, 2007 ---- *As far as I hear in the villages of Armenia, the Shakespearian plays are well-known.

@paulm4433 7 лет назад
godzilla12332 He also seems to be anti-everything these days! Did you hear the new poem "Is This The Life We Really Want"? Ranting about war and profit, Bush & Cheney, political clowns, anti-Trump. But he would rather of had Clinton another corrupt kiss ass corporate politician who would sell her soul for the powers that be. I admit Trump is acting crazy now but people were against him from the start before they even gave him a chance. Maybe Pence will take over if Trump continues to melt down? Than he rants about killing Bin Laden, Kill Saddam Hussein, the insurgents, or anyone on our evil list. All for the sake of Democracy. Seems old Roger is completely against military strength and combating terrorism? They are all attached to power and cash, getting richer. Does he really think Trump needs to become richer being President? The end is just an all out tirade and Roger is sounding like an angry, grumpy, discontented old man who has to push this political stuff harder than ever. He doesn't have any answers either. I am as outspoken as anyone regarding the corporate America, corrupt system, Politicians, judges, media, etc that are all influenced by special interests and the controlling powers. That's why the idea of Clinton becoming President was a joke and that's why people voted for someone that may turn out to be an unstable narcissist (Trump). That's just how sick people were of the same old crap. But I don't go out and preach this stuff during work or during my profession. Waters should focus on his music instead of incorporating his angry politics. It seemed cool back in the 70's and 80's but now it sounds desperate. Five failed marriages, estranged from most of his band members, talking down about everyone (including his ex- band mates) for the first time I won't be buying his new album or seeing him on tour as he mingles his political ranting and anti-Jew/Israel message.
@godzilla12332
@godzilla12332 7 лет назад
Paul M Paul M I'd disagree on separating his political view from his music. I think the power of his music comes from him being patient about politics and the way people are treated. People don't have to agree with him. But I find that art that not just him but a lot of people make shine the best when it's something there angry or sad about. That's kinda the beauty of art. It's expression. And if he (roger) wants to be active politicly and boycott Israel more power to him. As a Jew I can see that his heart is in the right place and I can't wait to see him live and listen to his new album. (And as for the poem my impression is that he's more angry about the innocent people caught in the cross fire then the actual terrorists being killed.).
@godzilla12332

godzilla12332 I've been a fan of his since the early 70's and more so Pink Floyd as a whole. He had the anti Jew thing even in The Wall which demonstrated his intolerance and prejudice even back than (as well as his anger issues). But back than it was a Testament to him tearing down the walls and finding peace and tolerance. So now for him to visit this anti Israel anti Jew thing again it's scary. And to me the mood of the whole thing comes across as intolerant, complaining about everything, angry, discontented, negative. That's why I won't be buying the new album like the rest of the people that want to just complain about things and find all the faults in everything no solutions will ever be found that way! It's just noise!

Thought the words are poetic and dreamy, the thought process is juvenile and detached from reality. It was not poetry and wishful thinking that saved you from the Nazi regime, it was bombs and bullets. It ask us to make friends with a religion that beheads christians and burns gay and lesbian people. A religion that deprives women of the most basic of rights. Intellectual dishonesty and moral flexibility... the hallmark are liberal thinking. I appreciate the rehash of " Imagine" by John Lennon but please, it wasn't Islam that has lead humanity in scientific research that has saved millions of lives through medicine, energy and economic prosperity. It wasn't Islam that freed slaves, suppressed the Nazi regime, gave women equal rights and wrote the Constitution giving free speak and equality to all.
@BrunoMacDonald
@BrunoMacDonald 7 лет назад
Waters, by his own admission, isn't a pacifist, and acknowledges that there are wars that need to be fought. What he would dispute is whether the wars being waged by America now are aiming for the lofty ideals that you mention. The loss of lives on both sides in, say, Afghanistan hasn't saved you from anything, nor has it done anything other than inflame an already toxic situation. You might also like to consider that criticising Islam for not "leading humanity in scientific research" is a bit like Steve King saying that only white culture has contributed anything of value to the world.
@smittythedoc
@smittythedoc 7 лет назад
Bruno you need to think before you reply. There are a few major flaws to your assertions. First my statement concerning Islam not leading humanity in scientific research is factually correct. Islam has not been at the forefront of human advancement in any appreciable way in any field of science, economics, or humanities. And your comment about my criticism of Islam being analogous to a racial belief held by Steven King is a false analogy and a silly one at that. First off, Islam is a religion not a race. To criticize Islam is therefore not racist. Some cultures are superior to other culture. American culture is superior to Islamic culture. Why you ask? Because I value freedom of speech. Islam does not. I value freedom of religion. Islam does not. I value equal rights for women. Islam does not. I value individual rights. Islam does not. I value a justice system based in constitutional law not religious law. Islam does not. I value the right of people to exercise their right to sleep with who ever they want sleep with (assuming it consensual). Islam does not. I agree that the wars as currently waged in the Middle East have been of little value to anyone. But again, you confuse the need for war with how the said war is being executed. Just because the last administration was completely clueless on how to wage war does not mean the war itself is unworthy of being fought. WWII was not a border skirmish. The Nazi's were EVIL. Their culture and our culture were incompatible. I value the lives of all people... including the Jews. Nazi's did not. There have been times throughout history that all that is required for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing. How many 911's do we need before you understand Islam is incomparable with our culture. How many Boston marathon bombing...Fort Hood shootings...I could go on and on. Nazism not compatible with civilized society. Islam not compatible with civilized society. Is American culture perfect. Of course not. But I woke up today with the ability to worship ( or not) any god I choose. I woke up beside a woman who has the same rights and opportunities that I enjoy. I woke up and read your response to my initial post and then responded without threat of death for if this was written in Iran, Iraq, or a multitude of other Islamic countries I would be killed for questioning the nature of Islam. If you cannot grasp the evil that is inherent in a religious culture that straps bombs to children so that they can be a martyr to Alla, then you do not understand the nature of Islam or evil.

Did someone, including yourself, see muslim's hijacking 2 air liners and crash into the WTC 1 & 2? It is not because some newspapers reveal some days after 9/11 a list of names of the 'hijackers', that the newspapers reveal the truth. The fact of the BBC interviewing the alleged hijjackers after 9/11 is referenced in David Ray Griffin's book about the 9/11 attack. Look it up! 9/11 is yet an unsolved mystery. WTC building number 7 was never hit by a plane but came down in a few seconds! This was filmed from different angles and has been broadcasted for millions of people. Has someone an explanation for that 'collapse' of a building? And WTC buildings 1 & 2 which were hit by aircraft didn't really 'collapse' but turned into dust, as forensic expert Wood has pointed out. Remember the motion pictures of New York and citizens covered with thick dust. What mechanism did turn such massive buildings into dust?

Willem...You are correct. I'm sure it was a inside job by the Illuminati planned at their secret Star Chamber at Area 51. The dust was a secret weapon we obtained from Tinkerbelle after water boarding her for a few hour. The weaponized dust was delivered by Bigfoot using stealth technology obtained from aliens at Roswell. Yes I'm sure you are right.

I never wrote that the Illuminati, Bigfoot and aliens were behind the 9/11 disaster. You are putting words in my mouth that I've never pronounced. I understand that you like to fantasize. But fantasy will never reveal the truth behind 9/11.

It doesn't move me a single finger -an idiom we use in Uruguay when something is not emotionally touching. It's just a load of words. Sorry, Roger. The world deserves more than rhymes from old colonial minded Brexit voters.

You are wrong. He has gotten to the essence of humanity 2017. Our spokesman for reality through media that arouses the masses - music and videos. He is our bard, our minstrel, our Aristotle.
