Often people don’t understand the Love we gear guys have for our favorites. Rogers of old was clearly a very special Drum Company, that gets a lot of respect from Drum enthusiasts from all around the world. I personally have a thing for the Cool hardware through the years. Thanks for the great respectful video. Had fun learning some of the tech. facts and stories told here.

Anthony, Thank you so much for you interest in Rogers Drums and your efforts to preserve the history of these amazing drums. Your video if the Rogers story was very well organized and presented. Long live Rogers!

Thank you for taking the time to make and share such a fabulous documentary! I never thought the drumset I just bought off the floor of a Goodwill had a correlation to the early Rogers banjos, so your video captured me immediately! Unfortunately, no hardware supports or connecting pieces, but a snare, bass drum, the minimal four drums for a set. I think I have a bass pedal, already. I know when I see something special. Now, I'll watch for the other pieces, maybe the snare suitcase... This video was amazingly informative!

My tags are initialed with maker F. I need to watch this while inspecting each to document and note each... I have not yet had time to inspect each one for maker mark and specs. I need stands/hardware and would love a stock snare case. I did just find and buy on eBay a reproduction Rogers drum key.

Very interesting. I remember in the late 60's early 70's when Rogers drums WERE the cadillac of drums. Of course cadillacs were quality then also.😊I am glad Rogers is back and seemingly doing it right. I just picked up a Dyno-matic pedal and have the strap kit coming to see how that changes the feel. I have my eye on the champaign sparkle kit as it looks stunning. Covington isn't that far from Dayton. But like many companies new management screws things up and things ultimately go downhill. I may need to get up to Covington on my next Ohio trip to see the museum.

Its not always mamagement. Greatness always comes and goes. Ppl change. You cant stay great for ever. A decade of greatness is about all anyone can ask for or expect. The beatles, zeppelin.rogers. not that other eras arent still good. But you just cant bottlenor recreate "special".

Excellent..best video I've seen yet of the Rogers Drum Company 'Covington years'. I am the proud owner of a Rogers drum set from that era: 7-piece double-bass kit the basses and toms in 'steel grey ripple pearl' finish all 1965/early 1966 (pre-CBS) interior shell tags Cleveland, Ohio. Interior shell tag for the 9 x 13" tom has an upper case 'F' written in the upper left hand corner which from this video I discovered is the final assembler's initial. I have a 5 x 14" COB Dynasonic snare drum also circa 1970 Fullerton, CA manufacture. I did have a two-piece 'Astoria' cocktail kit in blue onyx finish also made in Covington: new old stock I found sitting in a local music store completely original including the 'cocktail set' pedal. That set I traded a few years ago for a four-piece regular drum set in 'bop' sizes that was more practical for me from a player standpoint. Recently took my Rogers set to a local drum festival and it drew a lot of attention and comments.

Excellent work, Anthony! I was in my first decade of life living in Covington during this golden era. Since many of you have worked to resurrect such an important piece of Covington history, I’ve been able to finally understand why the Covington High School band was always loaded with talented drummers. Thanks!

Very grateful for this fantastic tribute to the great brand and the people who made it possible. I am in love with Rogers and although I live in the Canary Islands, I have with me a beautiful blue sparkle swingtime Rogers ...that I love too much maybe. A beautiful document that he gives us with this wonderful video. I have enjoyed thanks to him. Thank you very much and a very cordial greeting.

Nice video! I have an English Rogers Dyna, which is one of the better all-metal Dynas that I've played. That's just my own opinion. Maybe it's the tall boy hoops, or the thinner shell. It sounds great! I also have an 8 lug lacquered brass English Rogers which I believe is a Holiday. Cool drums! I think the shells were made at the Ajax factory. The shells are not as well made as the American made Rogers, but there's something about them that I like.

Anthony, Fascinating video ... loved every aspect. I just wish the circa 1963 B&B lugs were more readily available. I had to replace all my 12" tom lugs with an off-brand. Too bad (new and improved) copies are not being made (so far as I know). Any tips on finding replacements would be most appreciated. Thank you, DW

Brain at Covington Drum Works has developed a reinforcement method that is fantastic. He uses a silver solder that fuses permanently to the brass and renders the lug unbreakable. I have 44 lugs reinforced by Brian and couldn't be more happy. Contact Brian and tell him I sent you. He's a friend.

Thanks for your service! Though I always hear ‘58 as the start for Mardi Gras finish. Please review the Mardi Gras timeline and let me know what you think. Looking at the ‘57 Catalog though the finish sample is not listed, on page 3 for the Holiday Outfit you can clearly see at the bottom line for finish options - No. 953 Sparkling Mardi Gras Pearl. By the ‘60 Catalog the finish changed simply to No. 1163 Mardi Gras Pearl.

Great video Anthony, very informative. Right now I have a mid to late 60’s Rogers kit 18,12,12,14 Londoner jazz kit in WMP with a extra 14x20 in WMP and a mid 60’ s Top Hat kit,in blue sparkle 20,12,12,16 with a COB Powertone but also have a blue sparkle Powertone plus a seven line COB Dynasonic and a extra 14,x22 and 14x14 in blue sparkle. Last year my friend’s son gave me his father’s 1966-67 wood Dynasonic, a great drum. Can you do a video on the Dynasonic snare drums and how to set them up? I love the two that I have but I have to admit that setting the mechanism just right so the drum doesn’t choke up can be sometimes frustrating. Thanks again.
